How The Chickens Were Fed

It is practically an impossibility,
Not to be affected...
By a testing of patience.
Especially today,
When people today are becoming more aware...
Of their diets and what they consume to eat.

To remain calm and understanding,
Without the gritting of one's teeth...
Is challenging.
Try patiently standing behind someone,
In a line at your favorite grocery store.
And your time once precious...
Is not to them anymore.

In fact...
It has been decided,
Your time and everyone in that line...
Comes to a halt.
As that person wishes to know...
How the chickens were fed?
Where the potatoes were grown?
If the vegetables are fresh and organic?
And if the beef they wish to purchase,
Had quick or prolonged deaths.
Since this might have some affect,
On their digestion.

And...
They demand these answers,
From a store manager on a lunch break.
