How Fresh Is This Air You Wish
I can not demand that you love me.
Or reveal an honesty that reflects a loyalty.
That is too smothering of a deed to request.
Nor do I wish between us a miracle to pass,
For the sake to see we belong together and blessed.
However...
I would like to feel the compassion when we are near.
I would like to hear bells as evidence,
I have been struck by love.
With a vision I fight to clear.
Since you are all in it with a blinding of my mind.
Something to heighten my senses about this,
Is what I wish to experience without imagination.
Instead of sitting by the telephone,
Wondering where you have gone to roam while I am at home.
Since that seems to have become your favorite pastime.
To do,
As you put it...
'A need to breathe fresh air.'
What is 'that' suppose to mean?
You once told me I was your fresh air.
How fresh is this air you wish?
And how far will you go to satisfy this need?
To get it!
That's what I want to know.
And why you find a need to breathe it without me.
Just how wide is this space you need from me getting?
