Defenselessness Of It Admitted

When I was 'in' innocence,
I allowed curiosity to tease me away from it.
And each step taken,
Led me deeper to feed my unrest.
My innocence became neglected.
And now with memories of it...
I wish the innocence I had,
But left...
Was kept more protected.
And decadence less a taste I tested.
When I was 'in' innocence,
I wish I had recognized its power.
Now I am offended,
By my defenselessness of it admitted.
