Darkness to Reference

The awkwardness of trying to speed up one's mind,
From the past.
Are lost attempts.
Especially if one does not keep pace,
With comprehension and haste.
Time does not wait,
Or lose itself in contemplation.

An activity wasted...
Fades upon closed eyes.
If not pried open with the brightest of light!

When minds have been locked...
To block out understanding.
And programmed to be limited.
Nothing is welcomed to come to visit,
But darkness to reference.
For a way of life that has been fed,
To feed as a communal blessing!
And the only thing that will not be rejected...
Is more of the same instead!

Some will desire to 'see'!
While others will be gratified...
To be left alone and free to be,
Thoughtless and lazy!
