Convinced of It

I am afraid to grow grey.
And be left alone!
No.
I am afraid to be left alone.
With thoughts that are laid,
I am getting increasingly grey.
No.
I am getting increasingly grey,
And 'that' has made me afraid.
No.
I am afraid to awaken one day...
In total and complete denial.
But then...
I have been assured,
Those days I await...
Are too far off.
Especially for those like myself,
Still blessed and equipped...
With such a youthful appearance.
And all of us sitting around reminiscing this distance,
Are happy as we giggle.
And thoroughly convinced of it.
We are the 'chosen' specimen,
That will escape from the aging process.
Intended for some but not for us!
The ones still getting those nips and tucks.
