Conflicting Contradictions

We indulge our 'selves'...
In conflicting contradictions.
We see fit to inflict our misfit ideals...
Upon those who are exposed,
To our unlimited hypocrisies.

We become suspicious of the 'good'!
And yet pray to be delivered from evil.
Although there is a need to feed our temptations...
To satisfy selfish greed,
We can not perceive living without!

Believing with a misguided faith...
This is what God is all about!
And ignoring all the messages sent...
To cloud the 'truth',
With our stubborn doubts!

We twist the simplistic...
To dissect and destroy.
We become distraught,
With a happiness shown
And when that is expressed...
It upsets and annoys!
And we prefer to see it not condoned.

We wish for peace!
And yet any signs of it,
We rip into pieces.
We can not accept this as a sickness!
That is why so much of it has increased.
