Chopping Block
Don't tell me about your nonsense...
I'll tell you like it is!
While you were there,
Letting things crumble...
Many of us were attempting to prevent this,
Not with rhetoric!
Singing the blues with tears!
But with heartbreak...
In the streets.
Doing what we did.
We weren't sitting on our butts,
Fantasizing and smoking stuff!
We were talking about being proud!
And saything that out loud!
As you decided to ignore those efforts...
But now,
Time has spread your ignorance
Over you like a cloud!
Don't say a thing to me about what you've done!
If you had gotten off your sorry butt then...
None of this heartbreak,
Would have had a need to come!
Don't say a thing to me about what you've done.
And still you sit on the sidelines...
Complaining about those efforts,
Made by everyone!
When was the last time...
You put 'your' head on that chopping block line?
At the sacrifice of criticsm,
And running away to avoid that from 'anyone'!
Don't say a thing to me about what you've done.
That has been quite apparent.
