But...Going On Like This, I Do

You can!
But I can not,
Go on like this.

You can!
But I can not,
Hide my emotions.
Inside to leave distant.

You can!
Remain with pain,
And not let go.
Tell me nothing is wrong.
But I know that's not so.
You can sit in one place...
To stare out of the same window,
All day...
And not move a muscle.

But I can't compete with that.
Something you hold onto has control.
Keeping you attracted.
And my love for you,
Has a kept helplessness about it...
That keeps me attached and trapped.

You can!
But I can not,
Hide my emotions.
Inside to leave distant.

You can!
But I can not,
Go on like this.

And even though I know,
You have heard me admit it...
Going on like this,
I do!

Just to prove...
That my going on like this,
Hopefully...
Will sink in and get through to you.

I am here but for no other reason,
But to give and show...
The love that I have for you one day you will know!
The love that I have for you one day,
To me...
You will learn, as I have...to let that love show.

And even though I know,
You have heard me admit it...
Going on like this,
I do!

And leaving you,
Will never undo it!
But...
Going on like this,
I do!
