A Place Deserving Earned

From a place deserving earned,
That has given me rest...
I remember and appreciate each step,
That has gotten me here!
To succeed with a quest...
Once disrespected with protest.

But...
I am here to acknowledge,
How sweet it is to witness defeat.
When others make attempts,
To minimize one's good deeds...
Sometimes enjoyed with tears,
When shown in reality to finally be reaped.

I had to clear weeds from my path,
That were planted to confuse my mission.
I had to ignore those who laughed,
And sat...
Creating limits and upsetting restrictions.

But...
I am here to acknowledge,
How sweet defeat is...
When others make attempts,
To minimize one's good deeds...
Sometimes enjoyed with tears,
When shown in reality to finally be reaped.

From a place deserving earned,
That has given me rest...
I remember and appreciate each step,
That has gotten me here!
To succeed with a quest...
Once disrespected with protest.
And yet...
Aided to the feelings of my success.
