The Good Girl
She hides the darkness in vague poise
Black silk dreams next to her hymnal
Look in the mirror what do you see?
All the illusions that pain will waste
Lonely years of being the proper you
Acting from lines well rehearsed
Molded and formed into righteousness
She aches for the touch of a sinner
The full moon rises like a lioness
Wolves howl in sweet wildness
Myths dance with ancient vampires
Children of the night sing in revelry
She writes poetry like a dictionary
No soul, no fall, no dark shadows
Her flowers are hollow and plastic
She kisses a man she doesn't know
The Good Girl cries in the moonlight
