Jean Once So Lovely
The frost withers the fields
Her hippocampus shrunken
Amygdales filled with fear
Wrinkles in the mirror
Extra makeup
Internet chatter
Confidence gone
She tries the newest anti-depressant
Afraid of times determination
She embraces self pity
Waits for a bus that’s left
Silent screams for love
She loves no one
Take every ones attention like a thief
Only givers thrive in hard times
Takers suck the air out of the room
Her poetry sighs like dead flowers
Who will take this burden of freedom?
Panic attacks
She shows her sores to every stranger
Jean once so lovely
Now like a scarecrow amidst the crows
