Dark Rooms

Tin cans, tin hearts
The moon wrangles my nerves
Beauty is a dark heart
Beauty comes out at night
When cat eyes shine like black silk

Count your money
Who can buy time?
The illusive dimension of time
Time that takes you to your grave
Time that shows us we are very small
You’re in control of so little
Ragged souls know what a smile means

I wished I could have walked with Pablo
His poems by the sea
His love of women
Drink deep from the wine of time
The purple violet bliss of a kiss
Tender touch amidst all thorns

Hear the tides like a choir
Marvel at the stars
Gold is just a rich color
It's time for me to leave these dark rooms
