Blue Eyes of Eve

Eyes as blue as Eve
Love awakens the morning
Timeless as the river moonlight
She paints with acrylics
Burns sage in a magic bowl
Her poems like a medieval sword
I am wounded and vague
Vulnerable as dawn

Promises garnish wars
Garlands gained by fallen rapture
We survive like bleeding rain
Feel the cold winter hands
Fingers that drain your heart
Waxing moon in scallop sky
Aspire to climb the great mast
Ride the ship of the femme fatal

Dreams as empty as golden calves
Cinderella and pumpkins
Models used like fortunetellers
Beauty in the hands of moneychangers
Judas opens every door
Desolate mirrors where hearts harden
Split between Isis and sanity
The sweet blue eyes of Eve cry
