Beyond the Infinite
Love is not love that alteration finds,
and passing praise as phase inks poet's pen
to coin a phrase cued into mistress' minds,
now Ann now Fanny, to and fro again.
Yet you who'd love tomorrow may be gone
before dawn tints with amber flame hope's star,
when moments lived - both first and last are done -
twinned for a day then memory to mar.
Who throws all caution to the winds must rake
but bitter chips when passion teams no more,
dream themes prove flimsy farce, cast losing stake
when black Jack's bluff called - shown to bolted door.
O those who'd love beyond the infinite
too often find blight, night, right flight indict.

Responsum Richard
O You Who'd Love -a sonnet
O you who'd love and dare that act enshrine
above such door as heaven calls by name,
I'd cede my all those words were there with mine
as such enmeshed in that forever flame!
O you who’d love thrown caution to the wind
on such a path whence passion throbs and teems,
held high the hope that you and I were twinned
in consequence our corresponding dreams!
O you who’d love tomorrow might be gone
this moment lived that it could be the last,
what more to ask but that I’d journey on
with you till Paradise itself were passed!
O you who'd love beyond mortality
would that the same were, likewise, said of me!
