Premonition

sometimes you
get the promonition
someone close
will outlive you

she always gives
the feeling one day
you would be
at her feet looking
over you, dwarfing you

and while her feet
take her to a new phase
of life
yours will be static,
bereft of dreams
smelling of only earth
