Granular Nights

a hit and run kind of
nightmare leaves
an inexplicable emptiness
in the night's tummy
night, an endless stretch
of desert sands and
the sand granules
wait at the corners
to blur my vision
the eyes are already
dehydrated, you see
i spend the night
gathering each granule
in my palm...

they simply escape
through my fingers!

my eyes and palms
remain vacant through
the granular night...
