Nigeria at 51

Let Nigeria come out from blue
Give its people freedom in essence very true
We only make and destroy the core
Seek less but explore more

You need to make sacrifice
Nothing can be achieved through hollow promises
New generation to be prepared for high risks
Tough fight ahead to counter possible kicks

Secure the country from external threats
Shake hand with foe and friends equally and greet
Show the difference when to be taught on field
Love and peace along with sword and shield

Express resolve to hate hegemony
Love for mother land without words or acrimony
Words may speak louder than actions
Wait for no out burst or unnecessary frictions

Build nation on sound footing
Nothing can be achieved by simple looting
National assets to be preserved and utilized
For welfare of poor people and obliged

Afford free air and easy movement
Let people meet and enjoy the moment
Today is Naija day with much fun fare
Such opportunity may come very rare
