Close friend

Close friend

I proposed her to be close friend
I was sure she will shoot up and end
With hostile reaction and flare up
"Nonsense proposal to be torn off"

I was taken a back and stared
I had taken a chance and dared
She was no where seen in mood
I completely lost her and not understood

But no, she sprang a surprise
She gained composure and took to praise
I expected long run and chase
But saw much of relief on her face

She didn't believe in for what I had asked
What was right for her and at stake?
I explained honestly about feelings
She listened to but still remained unwilling

In fact she had lot more in mind
What was going on and how to find?
I was presenting lovely picture
She shook her head as was unsure

I was moving close to her
That she took lightly and did not bother
I gathered strength to hold her hand
And proposed to be close and real friend

I was not sure about what was going on in her mind
It was great task to lure her and to find
But I was sure of her falling in my sincerity
She was nice with sober and good woman like quality

I just drew her near and whispered in ear
How much time you need to decide in year?
Come closer and just be the one like others?
I am prepared to stay with you and share

She put her eyes down and submitted
I moved hand around and admitted
Her company as great achievement
The glorious and memorable happy moment
