Ears Gone Deaf!

rich people pray
with their eyes closed,
hands in their pockets...

poor people pray
o'er shared fires,
the cooking pot names

the faces of their children.
whose God listens?
whose God cares?

the earth keeps turning
with ears gone deaf!
