Life's Not Fair

A mother has gone.
A father is left.
The kids are still there.
They're all bereft.
They will adjust.
They have no choice.
Life will go on.
They miss her voice.
Mom, where did you go?
No answer gotten.
Life is too sad,
sometimes rotten.
Where is the peace?
Where did it go?
It's with our mother
and now we know.
Life's not fair.
