Commentary On Hate

What good does it do
to me and to you
to hate?
That consummate feeling
will send you reeling
into a tight-fisted agony,
that will stay with you
and will stay with me
until compromise can come.

Hate will build up
and tear you down.
And the fist so tight
will pummel to the ground
in search of release
that will not come
until the hate
has come undone.

Who are the ones
who do not hate?
the peaceful ones
at the Pearly gate
that opens up
and says, 'No more.'
I will not hate.
I've done that before.
