Sonnet: Bare-facts

The man perfumed has body-malodor;
The oft-bather has skin that’s dirty, thick;
The wig-wearer has scalp that’s grown balder;
The selfish man has heart that’s always sick.

The white-collared has heinous crimes on list;
Aristocrat is hauled for drug abuse;
The bureaucrat has bribe-accepting wrist;
The businessman gives Income-tax excuse.

The Bank-owner shows insolvency fast;
The politician lies and twists bare-facts;
The man of pride has soon his eyes downcast;
The powerful tyrannically acts.

The man who's poor has peace of mind and heart;
The humble Muse, unlauded, dies for art.
