Poets...Magicians

Our souls are touched
Emotions teased
Heartstrings plucked
Tensions eased

Tableaus described
Amazing vistas seen
To me, is what poetry
Is meant to mean

Through mastery of words
Through sly use of wit
We’re whooshed expertly away
From the chairs where we sit

By poets…by poetry…
From dark depths of the brain
We’re magically transported
By poetic legerdemain
