With You I Am Two

They claim their space beside the water,
Fathers and sons. Mothers and daughters.

The canvas ice was winter blue.
I caught her eye in a chaos of souls.
It was not you.
Some faint mist forming in the corner of my eye.
You – Your face is the sky.

Don’t ask me why I love you so
Just know that you glow.
You mean the world to me
Set free from the shackles that bondage my soul.
With you I am two, I am whole.
You sooth my aching soul.
