Passing Strangers
Our wedding day was happy
There was joy everywhere
The sun shone brightly
No rain clouds anywhere
Many years ago now
When we were young
We had joy and happiness
Along with sorrow and pain
We knew loves promise
Again and again
But the troubles came
That wouldn’t go away
The words about parting
Just seem to stay
I saw you with your new love
Just the other day
You seemed to be happy
As you passed on your way
You didn’t notice me standing there
Why should you indeed
For we are nothing more now
Than just passing strangers
