Near The Edge

We stand near the edge
of the abyss of our eternity.
As all the faces, we have known
flicker by like a silent movie.
In a few brief moments
we pass through all our right and wrongs
and as quick as they came
they disappear and are gone
leaving us to wonder
at the life we have lead.
Then we wake up from our dream
and find we are not dead.
