Harlem Hues

Colours splash across wet streets
from flashing neon signs,
some are vibrant and filled with life,
and some are dormant and almost dead.
Colours noticed by no one
in their race with life.
Some twinkle like starbursts
when thrown up by tyres
replicating dreams
as each colour mimics life
within the Harlem hues.
