Early Works - My Death After Life

As I join the everlasting in my cold bed,
my bodies nerves quiver of being dead.
The darkness of this tomb
will everlasting loom
as my coffin is laid beneath the earth
and I ride the never-ending surf.
Though dead my soul survives,
it enters a sphere
where someone more powerful than mortal guides.

Is this the place they call heaven
where each man is eager to find,
or is this place constructed in my souls mind.
What is this place I do not understand
for I am no longer mortal I have no hands.
Am I just a bodiless thing eons away
that has found peace this profound day.
This I think is right
as rest in my immortal night.
