A Shoebox

At the back of the wardrobe
lies, a shoebox of memories
of years gone by,
letters and photographs
filled with memories
of years before we grew old.
As I opened the lid
the memories came flooding out
and swirled around my head,
memories filled with smiles and laughter
at the things we used to do.
