A Gathering Of Poets

A gathering of poets
at the home of the bard.
The sun beat down on us,
not a cloud in the sky
as we read our poems
for each of us to hear.
Each was listened to
with a quiet contentment
as we each in turn read something
we had written
or a classic we had found
that held the emotions
that would stir us all
and maybe at times bring a tear or two.
