Emptiness Of Heart ~ Acrostic #4
Emptiness of heart is common
Many equate happiness with wealth
Perhaps the glitter of gold blinds on
Taking all reason, values, and health
In time fleeting Euphoria fades
Nothingness is offered in place
Each day a new craving appears
Seems to drown attention in many ways
Self absorbed is one, in Greed and Fears.
Often the emptiness comes at night
For times alone reveal much light.
Happiness is nowhere in existence
Each gadget fails satisfaction
All longings for more makes no sense
Revealing the absence and deception
Then the truth comes out, such Pretense!
'Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.'
(Ecclesiastes 5: 10)
