Shades of blue confronts the
man in blue, so blue, but not
electric blue, the blue in faded jeans
saddening blue, the blue in marble,
glossy, but sadder still, the faint
blue of a heavy sky, laden with rain
some restraints, falling suppressed,
the blue in that deserted lagoon,

Twilight
Day was set aside from the night,
Owing to the creator's might,
The artist's blue hour of light,
Makes many a magical sight,
As the bleak darkness becomes due,
It edges its way into view,
There's a rich and rarely seen blue,
An almost impossible hue,
The sky enters a splintered state,

When twilight is here
you shall see

the world will be peaceful
the seas will be calm
the flowers will sway gracefully
in the breeze as night does come.
The twilight hour
is the hour before darkness does prevail
when little children into dreamland sail
when the sunset leaves the sky grey and blue
then the twilight hour comes into view.

Ages Flicker in the Hot Fire
Ages flicker in the hot fire
where I sit in the bar
time passes slowly hour-by-hour,
my face reflects in the glass, somewhat confused
the flames jump bright orange, blue and white,
ages flicker in the hot fire
with shades playing on the wall of the fireplace
and deeper something fries like on a spit,

someone complains about his wife, wants to hire prostitutes
while a couple sit down at a table with a candle,
