Snake Charmer

Old hollow eyes got no ties
Walking by the light of the moon
A pair of shiny boots
With strings and flutes
Rising like a crazy balloom
Close your door
Hes on the loose
Here he comes
No hope for you
Ooh snake charmer
Hey mystery man
Whats your plan
Ive got to tell the world
To beware you dont care
Hell hipnotise you
And tell you lies
Hes hiding at the top of the stairs
Close your door
I see him coming out
Theres no hope for you
Ooh snake charmer
Snake charmer
Hey fancy face
Got no place
Living from a hole in the ground
Old sparkle eyes
He never cries
One step ahead of the hounds
Close your door
Hes on his way
Hes coming out of the shadows now
Theres no hope for you
Ooh snake charmer
Snake charmer
Old hollow eyes
Got no ties
Play your strings and flutes
Mystery man whats your plan
Snake charmer
Hell harm yer

Snake Eye

You paint a picture
So its plain to see
Aint no hiding
No security
Ill be watching
Every move you make
When you hear the rattle
Better be awake
Chorus:
Snake eyes, Im watching
Snake eyes, look out
Snake eyes, its coming
Snake eyes, aint no escaping from the snake eye
(no way)
You leave a footprint
For my eye to see
Catch an echo
From a lock and key
From the shadow
Or behind a rock
Get you anywhere
From the darkest shack
Chorus
Hear a rustle
From behind a tree
Get you running
Home to sanctuary
Bolt the door and -
You think youre safe
Im coming to get you
Gonna reach out (? ? ? )
Chorus
Got the snake eyes, they call me a snake in the bush
Snake eyes, biting
Snake eyes, always watching
Snake eyes
Aint no escaping from the -
Just keep a lookout for the -

Scrutiny Of A Psyche

Never a hallucination did she never fear
Snake gourd like a snake didn't delusively appear
Yet all changed smacking her heart to drear
One day with a basket by a snake charmer

Came on the charmer to capture with glee
Embedded her boldness drove him to flee
Devotee of snake-God she on a spree
Eerieless so her heart was cheery

Around the house garden a dense forest
But seldom a treat such so left
Can enter in no foreign body
Permission granted only to known somebody

Appeared a week later snake- charmer
Simply played his magudi the snake catcher
Grew her nerves anguished in temper
Controlled herself but with all prayer

On and on went the magudi
Bushy hiss, a snake up on eerily
Asked her piety to let it flee free
But lo, caught and thrushed into his bag gunny

Disobeyed he, hence obliged not she
Nothing of his money paid she
His turn, released the reptile angrily
All the world's curses throwing on her badly

Sleepless nights thence haunted her gravely
All the charmer's curses gunning fiery
And her psyche accounted the destiny
Bad to worse to the worst of scrutiny

Ofcourse life writhes, squirms and wriggles
Serpentinely venomous at times
Spreading its hood trouble- flickering
From its satanic fang sufferings outflowing

Althrough trustworthy her serpent God
Sudden susceptibility yet in sunken heart broad
In the grip of a comminating serpent
Bewildered life in mirthless thought

Her guts unnerved why?
Recessed her devotional ply?
Who the serpent, charmer or the reptile?
Or the Lord Himself for a while?

Unknown person, unknown reasons
Coiled down life with curses
Revere the Lord and dread His wrath..truth
Seldom more prayers, she with vigilant breath

Bottled At The Source

Approaching the oasis this thirsty pairing
A ragged beggar and a snake charmer
Noticed an oddly shaped ominous cloud
Which seemed to be hovering overhead__
Ready for a much needed refreshing drink
They cupped their hands and took aim at the water's surface
But before they could break the tension of the mirror like pond
Their eyes beheld what appeared to be the reflection
Of an utterly demonic yet spiritual creature....
Fearing to take a drink as the water may be poisoned
The beggar behooves and begs pardon for his intrusion
While the snake charmer drinks because he had seen
The devil's face before and had charmed many serpents
The snake charmers thirst was uncontrollable and so it was
He scooped up all his hands could hold and drank fully
Within seconds of quenching his parched throat
He grabbed at it and as if to be strangling himself
He fell face down in the liquid dose and did not move
The beggar fearful and pleading for his life to be spared
Fell on his back petitioning God to deliver him from a similar fate
.....and at that very moment the oddly shaped ominous cloud
Opened up its vessel and from it poured a drink of rain
Into the beggar's mouth....until the heavenly gift was fully evaporated
The beggar now having been revived...
Sits up and taking notice of the snake charmer's status
Robs him of his sandals and his cloak___

If I Ever Was a Snake

If I was a snake, my eyes would be green,
I would wander the land and look real mean.
If I was a snake, I'd know how to sting,
Despite all the trouble it would bring.

If I was a snake, I'd be red and gold,
I would slither and slather and eat my mice cold.
If I was a snake, I'd rattle my tail,
But I'd be polite and never go to jail.

If I was a snake, I'd slide on my tummy,
Hamsters and mice would be real yummy.
If I was a snake, I'd live on the ground,
Sleeping and snoring 'till I was found.

I would never learn how to rake,
If I ever was a snake.

Snake; an oracle of oath

The godless men worship the snake
The godless men take oath in name of snake
And the curse comes upon wrongdoer
The godless men take oath in the name of snake
And blessing rains upon the innocent
The godless men take oath in the name of snake
And snake bitten dead the lair
And snake spare life of the truer
Despite snake answers to godless men
No votive or thank given to snake, the god
So the stopped the men to swear
By it name, snake said men used
Thunder and fire for swearing instead of it name
As snake disowned the godless men
Hex fallen upon

Is it a dream?

Bramble bush in the Forest road
Near by the Bricklayer's house
A rumour goes around
Once a Farmer's Bride eloped with a Buffalo Boy
On their Wedding day!
Here's the place I saw a Golden snake
With Diamond teeth and Mercuric Venom.
Really I want to rush into the poor Gypsy toothless snake charmer's shack
And inform this strange incident.
But I have a little doubt
Whether it's a dream or Real?
This old age is very pathetic
And perhaps it could be an omen of beautiful Death?

The Cause of Enmity between Snake and Man

Snake, the first owner of fire.
Dog, the robber of fire.
Man the last owner of fire.
The snake gave birth first to fire.
Thus fire, the first born of snake.
Thus snake, only owner of fire long ago.
One cold evening
The man dying of coldness
The dog seen it master dying of coldness
It went to snake house and begged
The snake, the mother of fire to let
It tail get warm of fire
The snake cordially welcomed the dog
The dog twisted it tail on fire
The tail caught the fire
The dog jumped over the snake in door
Ran quickly to it master, the man
The man took the grass and wood
And lit up the fire
The fire lit up in man’s house
And it extinguished in snake’s house
The snake come to get fire back
But the man attack the snake
The hostility between man and snake
Began then

Brooklyn

A race of angels
Bound with one another
A dish of dollars
Laid out for all to see
A tower room at eden rock
His golf at noon for free
Brooklyn owes the charmer
Under me
His ladys aching
To bring a body down
She daily preaches
On where she wants to be
An evening with a movie queen
A face we all have seen
Brooklyn owes the charmer
Under me
A case of aces
Done up loose for dealing
A piece of island cooling in the sea
The whole of time we gain or lose
And power enough to choose
Brooklyn owes the charmer
Under me

Kissing the Fang

Snake biting once biting dead
Snake biting twice biting life
Walking in the sorghum stalk
The oldest foe- the snake heard my feet
The snake raised the neck and hissed
As our eyes met at equilibrium
I stopped and drew my spear
The hateful send boiled to the brim
The brawl commenced I speared it back fatefully
The snake bitten my right feet fatefully
The biting bit me dead I fell down breathing not
The snake bitten my left feet again.
The biting bit me life I raised up breathing lively
The snake snaked away
The venom paralyzed me but
I giddily crawled after the snake
I gasped and kissed the snake fang
I spate the healing saliva in the snake wound
We departed in peace-indeed peace in death

Plaything

The black snake
Hiding in the grass
The black snake
So frightening

The black snake
That wouldn’t let me pass
Was a toy snake
Of a little boy

A toy snake
That was all it was
A toy snake
Left there in the grass

A small toy
Of a little boy
That a little girl
Should have enjoyed

Illusion and ignorance

To mistake a rope for a snake
Or to mistake a snake for a rope
Is illusion in perception.
To take a rope for rope and
A snake for snake is knowledge.
To take a rope not for a rope
And a snake not for a snake
Is ignorance. We employ
All the three at variant times
At different degrees in life.

The Crane And The Snake

The crane spreads its wings
while the snake coils to strike
both have great agility
and flamboyance when they fight

The crane hops, the the snake slithers
they sleep at night, near soft flowing rivers

For days the crane plays
bopping its head
swaying it many ways
before standing on one leg

All white
and inocently pure
the snake sees this dance
as an enticing lure

The snake slithers nearer
to have a better view
all this is happening
under a morning mist and dew

But the cranes alert
she knows whats there
peeking out from the bush
under this damp air

The snake gets closer
close enough to strike
the crane blocks with his wing
and postures for a fight

But the snake backs of
smiling at the crane
while the crane stands on that one leg
smiling back just the same.

Heroin

Snake And its charmer
Never have a home
Both tread their path
On foot
Both are travellers
One has its (cast off) skin
The other has the mendicant wrap
Life-long companions
Poison dealers
They 're partners in trade
One makes the poison
The other sells it
On the street!

Cold Hearted

(elliot wolff)
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
Youre the one givin up the love
Anytime he needs it
But you turn your back and then hes off
And runnin with the crowd
Youre the one to sacrifice
Anything to please him
Do you really think he thinks about you
When hes out
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
It was only late last night
He was out there sneakin
Then he called you up to check that you
Were waiting by the phone
All the worlds a candy store
Hes been trick or treatin
When it comes to true love girl with him
Theres no one home
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
You could find somebody better girl
He could only make you cry
You deserve somebody better girl
Hes c-cold as ice
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules

Girl dont play the fool--(repeat to fade)

Always always number number one without a doubt

Like a little snake under-a e-ver-y-a rock
(no no give give, all all take take)
Youve been youve been workin workin on the on the love

Snakepit

when you find yourself
inside a snake pit
you can not just be naive
to be bitten and even
swallowed by another
snake
you become a snake
yourself and bite
as many as you can

this is the law of the
survival of the fittest snake
and when you emerge
as the victor

go back to your form
coy dove, white feathers,
lovely beak
gentle claws

SnakeSkin

Now it seems
You were the snake
That I was
Trying to protect you from-
The snake with
The deadliest venum ever!
The snake that would cross
The line and never come
Back again!
The snake that would
Bite itself
The snake that would
Bite me!
For trying to
Protect it from itself!
