Crumblin' Land
In a while I'll find the time to make the sunshine mine
In a smile I saw a single needle in the sky
Wheeling, soaring, gliding by
On a hill a little man with many shining things
Shiny pool, a shiny car and shiny diamond rings
Dining, dining, shining king
And the eagle flies in clear blue skys
Breathing in the clear blue air
Back here on the ground another dealer coughs and dies
And fifty more come rolling off
The Ford production line
Then a man appearing like up in our on the sand
In his hand a moving picture of the crumbling land
Screaming, scheming, movie man
Here we go, hold your nose and see if something blows
Close your eyes, count to ten and see the sunrise rise
Climbing, higher, to the sky
Climbing all the birds a lake the dove the lies
On the finger of the king
On high the eagle spies the glitter of a gun
And heeling in a climbing turn he flies into the sun

Crumbling Land
In a while Ill find the time to make the sunshine mine
In a smile I saw a single eagle in the sky
Wheeling, soaring, gliding high
On a hill there lived a man with many shining things
Shiny gold, shiny car and shiny diamond rings
Wining, dining, shining king
Now the eagle flies in clear blue skies
Drinking in the clear blue well
Back here on the ground another dealer coughs and dies
But fifty more come rolling off the floor production line
Then a man commuting like a village on the sand
In his hand a moving picture of the crumbling land
Screaming, dealing, movie man
Here we go, hold your breath to see if something blows
Close your eyes, count till ten and see the sunrise rise
Gliding high into the sky
By the holy mansion, let the guardian rise
Upon the finger of the king
On high the eagle flies, that glitter all of gold
Then wheeling in a cloudy sky, he flies into the sun

Climbing
High up in the apple tree climbing I go,
With the sky above me, the earth below.
Each branch is the step of a wonderful stair
Which leads to the town I see shining up there.
Climbing, climbing, higher and higher,
The branches blow and I see a spire,
The gleam of a turret, the glint of a dome,
All sparkling and bright, like white sea foam.
On and on, from bough to bough,
The leaves are thick, but I push my way through;
Before, I have always had to stop,
But to-day I am sure I shall reach the top.
Today to the end of the marvelous stair,
Where those glittering pinacles flash in the air!
Climbing, climbing, higher I go,
With the sky close above me, the earth far below.

Car On A Hill
Ive been sitting up waiting for my sugar to show
Ive been listening to the sirens and the radio
He said hed be over three hours ago
Ive been waiting for his car on the hill
He makes friends easy
Hes not like me
I watch for judgement anxiously
Now where in the city can that boy be
Waiting for a car
Climbing
Climbing
Climbing the hill
Hes a real good talker--i think hes friend
Fast tires come screaming around the bend
But theres still no buzzer
They roll on...
And-Im waiting for his car on the hill
It always seems so righteous at the start
When theres so much laughter
When theres so much spark
When theres so much sweetness in the dark
Waiting for a car
Climbing

The Climb
Step by step
I've come closer to reaching the top
Every step must be placed so that I don't fall off
Looking down to see about how much higher I am
Another cool wind comes through and brushes my skin
The harder I push the tension does grow
I gather my thoughts the further and further I go
With some luck I just might keep on climbing
So better to climb than to face a fall
So high the climb
Can't turn back now
Must keep on climbing up to the clouds
So high the climb Can't turn back now
Must keep on climbing up to the clouds
Pulling myself up by a rope
I better my view
The only thing in sight is what I must do
As I turned I could see myself falling
Which in return save me strength for the climb
So high the climb
Can't turn back now
Must keep on climbing up to the clouds
So high the climb
Can't turn back now
Must keep on climbing up to the clouds
Although many failed I must now prevail with no question
Have no time to stop
Onward to the top of the mountain
And I can't turn back now
Its so very high but I can't turn back now
If I keep it up

Shiny Star
I look upon the sky
In search of a star
I see comets fly
And stars shine
Oh shiny star
Shiny star that is so far
I wish my life
Shined as bright as you
I glance upon the starry sky
In awe of the shiny star
While the comet flies
And that star shines luminously
Oh shiny star
Shiny star that is so far
If only my life
Shined as bright as you

Bank On Your Love
One lonely eye faces the queen
How far she goes remains to be seen
She can be hard and she knows it
She plays her heart and doesnt show it
Cold night cold like me
No lov elost betting on the king
And its a hard unknown
Before the hand is showing
The con is out when the eagle flies
If you know the hand is quicker than the eye
Can I bank on your love
Hands down left high and dry
Games in the night are quicker than the eye
That aint love or affection
The dealer changed direction
Bets are high and Im losing enough
Wont anybody play fair with my love
cause its hard not knowing
And my heart is showing
The king is out and the eagle flies
Dont you know the hand is quicker than the eye
Can I bank on your love

Seascape With Sun and Eagle
Freer
than most birds
an eagle flies up
over San Francisco
freer than most places
soars high up
floats and glides high up
in the still
open spaces
flown from the mountains
floated down
far over ocean
where the sunset has begun
a mirror of itself
He sails high over
turning and turning
where seaplanes might turn
where warplanes might burn
He wheels about burning
in the red sun
climbs and glides
and doubles back upon himself
now over ocean
now over land
high over pinwheels suck in sand
where a rollercoaster used to stand
soaring eagle setting sun
All that is left of our wilderness

Climbing Up The Walls (Zero 7 Mix)
I am the key to the lock in your house
that keeps your toys in the basement,
and if you get too far inside
you'll only see my reflection.
See her face when she sleeps tonight,
I am the pick in the ice,
do not cry out or hit the alarm,
we are we're friends till we die.
And either way you turn I'll be there,
open up your skull, I'll be there
climbing up the walls.
It's always best when the light is off,
it's always better on the outside,
in the crack of your wanting smile,
fifteen blows to the skull.
So tuck the kids in safe tonight,
and shut the eyes in the cupboard.
do not cry out or hit the alarm,
you'll get the loneliest feeling
that either way you turn I'll be there,
open up your skull, I'll be there
climbing up the walls.
Climbing up the walls.

Eagle Watch
The morning came, the eagle stirred, one leap to fly again.
The tourists smiled to watch this bird, the envy of all men.
For who has not at one time slept and sometime in the night,
Believed that if they also leapt, they, too, could rise in flight?
Within one dream, atop a hill, I ran and ran and ran...
And all at once I felt the thrill when my first flight began!
I left the hill, I left the Earth, to glide upon the sky...
It was as if my soul gave birth to something that could fly!
No holding back, I had to hurl myself upon the wave!
Like Superman and Supergirl, I flew as if by faith!
I knew just how the eagle felt, designed for higher things...
A better hand I had been dealt, transforming hands to wings!
Each time I see an eagle soar to heights beyond my eyes,
I realise what dreams are for, to simply mesmerise.
Today, each pilot flies above, content to do his best...
Just like the eagle that I love... God help them to be blessed...
The poem is based on the magnificent painting
by Stephen Gayford called 'Eagle Watch'.

Ghost Eagle Still Flies Ghost Skies
beauty solemnly slips from grief dark shadows
her eyes were soulful as dark as her hair shines
dance with life smile at his funeral an angel divine
his spirit flew in bright white blue mountain thermals
morning burn golden light upon life sacred mountain
eagle flies no more these spectral blue white skies
hunters came creeping shot free eagle as he soars flies
feelings ghost haunting hunt skies where eagle flies no more

Things Get FUNKY Fast
try to keep it shiny,
try to make it last,
every time you turn around,
things get funky fast.
try for law and order,
the die is cast
every time you turn around,
things get funky fast.
no matter how you figure,
no matter how big the blast,
bowling pins built to fall down,
and things get funky fast.
toil and trouble,
hang on what we do,
and bloodhounds,
coming after you.
the present moment,
ruled by the past,
every time you turn around,
things get funky fast.
you know I love you, baby
twine time is fine,
but I can't tell,
if you're a friend of mine.
on the deck of the ship
you're climbing up the mast,
it's hard to be hip,
things get funky fast.

The Place Where My Heart Lives
it is on top of a cliff
it is an eagle's nest
there is a red egg
in the middle of those
blue eggs
there is no eagle
anymore that flies there
anymore
the blue eggs spoil
there is nothing there
the blue egg
cracks
my heart still sings
the blues
the clouds listen for a while
then they cry
the way the rain falls on the plains
then they drift away
the blue egg cracks
and shall be silent for a while
until the black eagle comes
and takes it back
to the place where it must be

Seashore Picnic
The picnic blanket spread down upon the ground
On a grassy verge high above the sand
All our toes wiggle so free, with sunshiny tea and cakes
Radio playing with the sound of an old jazz band
We don’t have socks and feel so free,
Sitting in the shade of a Norfolk pine tree
On a sun shiny day for sun shiny play.
The moon tide’s motion curls the waves so to greet the rocks,
A thousand droplets dance toward the sky
Ascending down as natures melodical cymbals break,
White frizzles, bubbles in the blue
Tiny sunshiny dots floating calmly on the sea
Simply turning on and off,
Just to make the twinkles twinkle
Just for you and me
On a sun shiny day for sun shiny play
Everyone stands shouts and points out to sea,
“We see! We see! The Whales, the Whales, ”
'We see! We see! Their whopping tails,
We all jump up for glee.
A mighty splash as the leader jumps and dives back in,
Swimming onward north for a warmer swim,
So gentle these giants of the sea,
Who always stick to harmless rules,
We wave goodbye with a sigh but
Happy to say
What a way to sun shiny play on
A happy sunshiny day.

Doronicums are Smiling
Standing in a row
and greeting Hello
Doronicums are smiling
With their shiny Yellow.
The green hearty leaves
Encircle all you fellows
Feel so soft, rich and mellow
Rose is a king but you a Stello
Doronicum are smiling
with their shiny Yellow.
Happiness so vivid by your tone
Wisdoms the symbol that glows
Way you move when wind blows
Seems breeze playing Cello
Doronicum are smiling
with their shiny Yellow.

Crooked Conscience
I used to be able to surpress him
But I somehow lost control
It feels like I'm falling in my mind
And i just can't grab a hold
I'm reaching as I spiral down
To find a sign of hope
Suddenly I am tangled
In a fraying piece of rope
Begin to climb the rotted line
As it's crumbling in my hands
Don't think I'll make it back to myself
But I have to take the chance
I can hear his voice call out to me
He says to try would just be nonsense
His used to be the voice of reason
Now he's my crooked conscience
So crooked and out of control
I know he must be stopped
So I ignore his evil words
And keep climbing to the top
The rope's turning to dust in my hands
But I'm almost out of my head
The one thing I have to save myself
Is now a line of thread
Just inches now from my goal
My hands are burnt and blistered
There my conscience stands and smiles at me
Holding a shiny pair of scissors

Be The Stars
Be the eagle with your eyes
Be the baby with your cries.
Be the dog with your nose
be the sand as the wind blows.
Be the gecko who sits still
be the fragrant daffodil.
Be the sun that's shining bright
be the moonshine in the night.
Be all this and then stars
then be a human or Martian from Mars.

Love The One You're With
f you're down, and confused
And you don't remember, who you're talkin' to
Concentration slips away
'Cause your baby is so far away
Well there's a rose, in a fisted glove
And the eagle flies with the dove
And if you can't be with the one you love, honey
Love the one you're with
Don't be angry, don't be sad
Don't sit cryin', talkin' 'bout the good times you had
Well there's a girl, sittin' right next to you
And she's just waiting for something to do
Well there's a rose, in a fisted glove
And the eagle flies with the dove
And if you can't be with the one you love, honey
Love the one you're with
Turn your heartache right into joy
She's a girl, and you're a boy
So why don't you get it together, make it nice
You ain't gonna need any more advice
And there's a rose, in a fisted glove
And the eagle flies with the dove
Sometimes you can't be with the one you love, honey
Love the one you're with

Boy Blue
Hey boy blue, cant you hear all the noise, its for you.
All the towns waiting there, let us go.
Theres a show like you aint seen before.
Weclome home, where you been all these years, look around.
All the crowd is in tears,
Its so good to see you in the streets of your town
Chorus
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Ive seen bold knights, dropping down like flies,
Ive seen kings, rolling in the mire,
Ive seen god, point the finger of doom to our foes.
I have fought in the holiest wars,
I have smashed, some of the holiest jaws.
Ive been jailed, been impaled, and been dragged through the world.
One thing, I have learned through these years,
Is that no man, should be stricken with fear.
It should be that he walks with no care in the world.
So my friends, who are gathered today,
Hear this clear, for Ill not further say.
That no amn, shall cause me to take up arms again.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.
Hey boy blue is back.

Little Bird Song
Theres a little bird
Somebody sent down to earth
To live along the wind
Blowing on the wind
And she sleeps on the wind
This little bird, somebody sent
Light and fragile
And feathered sky blue
Thin and graceful
The sun shining through
She flies so high up in the sky
Way out of reach of human eyes
Light and fragile
And feathered sky blue
Thin and graceful
The sun shining through
She flies so high up in the sky
Way out of reach of human eyes
Light and fragile
And feathered sky blue
Thin and graceful
The sun shining through
And the only time that she touches ground
Is when that little bird, little bird
Is when that little bird, little bird
Is when that little bird, little bird
Is when that little bird dies
