A Great Day For Freedom
A great day for freedom
On the day the wall came down
They threw the locks onto the ground
And with glasses high we raised a cry for freedom had arrived
On the day the wall cane down
The ship of fools had finally run aground
Promises lit up the night like paper doves in flight
I dreamed you had left my side
No warmth, not even pride remained
And even though you needed me
It was clear that I could not do a thing for you
Now life devalues day by day
As friends and neighbours turn away
And theres a change that, even with regret, cannot be undone
Now frontiers shift like desert sands
While nations wash their bloodied hands
Of loyalty, of history, in shades of gray
I woke to the sound of drums
The music played, the morning sun streamed in
I turned and I looked at you
And all but the bitted residue slipped away...slipped away

Widdershins
Edgar woke as the bedside clock
Chimed in with a spate of news,
The Greens were jumping through hoops again
At the culling of Kangaroos,
The Greeks were rioting in the streets
Cut off from their Euro links,
In Egypt, there was a vague report
Of a Spaceship, over the Sphinx!
He yawned, rolled over to kiss his wife
Fell onto the bedroom floor,
He'd always slept on the right of the bed
But not on the left before!
He staggered over and pulled the blinds,
The sun streamed into the room,
He frowned, it never shone round this side
‘Til late in the afternoon!
His wife raced out of the bathroom, slipped
A comb through her auburn hair,
‘You're going to be late for work again! '
He scratched at his head, and stared.
‘It's Saturday morning, June, ' he said,
‘It's Thursday, ' she replied,
‘Don't you remember Friday night?
Just check the TV Guide! '
She poured his drink from the coffee pot,
He'd always favoured tea,
The sun was a-rising in the West
In a pure absurdity,
He caught the bus that he'd always caught
But it went the other way,
Instead of a route through city streets
It dropped him, down at the Bay.
He called at the Bay Newsagent
But they hadn't a paper there,
They only had one from Friday night
It was called, ‘The Evening Star.'
‘What day is it? ' he asked the man
Who gave him a funny look,
‘Wha' da ya think, it's Thursday;
Now go off, and sling yer ‘ook! '
He wandered along the promenade
And he found a handy bar,
He needed a drink to calm him down
From the jitters he'd felt so far:
‘Just give me a Beam & Coke, ' he said
To the Barman's steely glare,
Who poured him a Bloody Mary
So he turned and he left it there.
Over and by the Harbour wall
An old man sat in glee,
He said, ‘Now I've been a fisherman
Since nineteen fifty three,
I've never seen tides that turn like this
A high come in on a high…'
The sea crashed over the Harbour wall
As the old man let out a sigh!
Edgar pricked up his ears and said:
‘So you have noticed it too!
I thought that I was the crazy one,
The world's turned into a zoo! '
‘Have ever you heard of Widdershins?
I mind it happened before…'
But the old man wouldn't be drawn again,
Just stared at the further shore!
Edgar managed to get back home
As the clock was striking six,
The news was due to be following on
From the kids Ventriloquist,
And the bulletin they read that night
Said the Spaceship seemed to have left,
Had winked its lights as it took to flight,
While the sun sank in the West!

Pulled Up
Mommy, daddy, come and look at me now
Im a big man in a great big town
Years ago who would believe its true
Goes to show what a little faith can do
I was complaining, I was down in the dumps
I feel so strong now cause you pulled me up!
Pull me up up up up up up up up
I slipped, and I got pulled
Pulled up, I tripped, and then you pulled,
You pulled me up
I slipped, and I got pulled,
Pulled up, I slipped, and then you pulled,
You pulled me up pull me up pull me up...
Pulled me up up up up up up up up
I drift away to another land
Sleeping dreaming such a simple thing
I think of things that I might be
I see my name go down in history
I was complaining, I was down in the dumps
I feel so string now cause you pulled me up!
Pull me up up up up up up up up
I slipped, and I got pulled,
Pulled up, I tripped, and then you pulled,
You pulled me up
I tripped, and I got pulled
Pulled up, I slipped, and then you pulled
You pulled me up! pulled me up up, pulled me up...
Pulled me up up up up up up up up
I got up
cause you pulled me up
I stood up
cause you pulled me up
I got up
And that was because you pulled me up
I got up
In a little while you pulled me up
Pull me up up up up, up up up up!
Pull me up up up up up up up up!
I cast a shadow on the living-room wall
Dark and savage with a profile so sharp
Keep that wonderful food on the table
Theres really no hurry Ill eat in a while
I was complaining, I was down in the dumps
I feel so strong now cause you pulled me up!
Pull me up up up up up up up up!
I slipped, and I got pulled
Pulled up, I tripped, and then you pulled,
You pulled me up
I slipped, and I got pulled
Pulled up, I slipped,
And then you pulled, you pulled me up!
Pull me up...pull me up...watch out!
Pull me up up up up up up up up!
Pull me up up up up up up up up!
Pull me up up up up up up up up!

Crystal Heart
My heart is in your hands,
Paper thin crystal ready to break,
My love when will you awake?
My mind drifts to foreign lands,
Tears burst, washing away the desert sand,
Memories lost and found,
Tears wash away the ground,
Your voice, the only sound,
My heart breaks all around,
Life's dream lost but new life found,
This ship will never run aground,
Lights twinkle on a far shore,
Promises of a life to adore,
Please love, don't shut the door,
Memories lost and found,
Tears wash away the ground,
Your voice, the only sound,
My heart breaks all around,
So when you can hurt no more,
Remember to give me a call,
You know I will remember you evermore,
When I reach the shore it is life I shall adore,
Our memories I will treasure,
Let life be a pleasure.

FREEDOM- [new edit]
once a Gnat came down from the top
to drink of what remained in the cup
kid for having fun, just blocked her way
and the Gnat saw her, future is gray
saw herself in trap, so she left the food
though the tasting of, food was pretty good
top a hand and left, and right and down glass
thirsty and madly, she remembered her last
flight, and hopefully was looking for a hole
that through it she, could again reach home
beat the cup wall so, many times with head
finally she knocked down, and then she bled...
food was so tasty, dear was life of her
but the FREEDOM, was what she wished there

Extension 33
Living at the y, extension 33,
Nothing to care or to worry.
Once I was in love with a blind man,
But my auntie told me, dont do it, its not worth it.
Living at the y, 33 years,
No one to call or to write to.
Once I was in love with a married man,
But my instincts told me, dont tell him, itll kill you.
Im sad I didnt marry the blind man,
But whats a life with three blind children?
Im glad I never told the married man,
It saved my pride and freedom.
Living at the y, in 33 rooms,
Nowhere to visit or write to.
Once I was in love, it nearly killed me,
But now I have my pride and freedom.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom.

In A Small Moment
(carly simon)
In a small moment
She accepted credit for something she did not do
She said shed done the water color in her bedroom
But it was done by a friend from school
Just a little lie
No one would discover
At least not very soon
In a small moment
Just a little lie
When she wasnt looking it just slipped on by
In a small moment
In a restaurant where she worked the late night shift
She short changed a sailor and made five
You could never really call it a theft
Just a little lie
Swept up in her apron and kept as a well deserved gift
In a small moment
Just a little lie
When she wasnt looking it just slipped on by
In a small moment
She cheated on her lover and placed it in the back of her mind
As long as nobody knew the truth about her
It could never really be unkind
Just a little lie
That slipped beside her as she tossed and turned in her alibis
In a small moment
Just a little lie
When she wasnt looking it just slipped on by
Just a little lie
When she wasnt looking it jsut slipped on by
Slipped on by

Slip Away
She lives in the tv sky
She lives in such pain
She rides in a bulletproof
Stretch limousine
The smoke in the barroom nights
The faces in the window
The sound of the harbor horn
She recognized
And when the music started
She just slipped away
Just like a river rollin down
And when the music started
She just slipped away
High on a windy hill
The turbine did whine
Low in the valley chill
A baby was cryin
Impossible to take the time
The moment is here
Cry out from behind the pines
A voice comin near
And when the music started
She just slipped away
Just like a river rollin down
And when the music started
She just slipped away

Up Against It
Can you hear it?
Ear against the ground and youll hear it
I can tell a change when I hear it
We are tigers
Kings of jungles
Trapped in cages
We forget we once were free!
And the average swain
Would be contented in his chains
Were it not for complainers like me
Throw the book
Im up against it
Up against the rules
Bring the experts
Up against them
Up against the fools
Bring on city hall
Im against them all
Lamp of freedom
No, you cant change
Human nature
Wheels of power
Keep revolving endlessly
With a fanatical faction
A charismatic attraction
Theres a piece of that action for me
Call the press
Im up against it
Up against the flacks
Bring the shrink
Im up against it
Up against the quacks
Revenuers
Up against it
Up against the tax
Name some names
And Im up against them
Bullies, big and small
Im against them all
All we need is some vitality
Like an [...] individuality
But I guess they [...]
[...] make it all alone
Bring the girls
Im up against them
Im up against their lips
Bring the boys
Im up against them
Up against their hips
Bring the priest
Im up against him
Up against that cross
Bring the mob
Im up against it
Up against the boss
Bring the cops
Im up against it
Up against the jaw
Throw the book
Im up against it
Up against the law
Politicians, all - Im against them
Fascist lackies all against the wall
Fist of freedom
Guns of freedom
Bring the lackies
Up against it
Up against the wall
Bring the bishop
Up against it
Up against the wall
Bring the chairman
Up against it
Up against the wall
Put the general
Up against it
Up against the wall!

The Best Was Yet To Come
Just a small town girl in the city lights
The best was yet to come
Then lonely days turned to endless nights
The best was yet to come
How were you to know
That you would be the lucky one
Ain't it funny how time flies
When the best was yet to come
You can cry yourself to sleep at night
You can't change the things you've done
You had it there then it slipped away
Yeah you left the song unsung
Even through your tears
I never saw you come undone
What's so good about goodbye
When the best was yet to come
I find myself thinkin' about yesterday
When you were here and livin' in a dream
In the moment that it takes
You find you made your first mistake
Like the setting sun...
You turn around it's gone
Just a small time girl who had it made
Or so the story goes
She had it there then it slipped away
Oh - how was she to know
Even through her tears
I never saw her come undone
Ain't it funny how time flies
When the best was yet to come
What's so good about goodbye
When the best was yet to come

Berlin Wall
Berlin Wall
Divided, divided; world was divided
Great Chinese wall was broken by artillery bullet
Great wall of among two worlds was broken
Berlin wall broke and collapsed
Keeping ruins of
Broken wall of Berlin
Remnants seen by stopping
Broken heart burnt
Boundary of black and white world
Shows the whole picture
When looked at by white color world
Everybody is silent
Blackness of the red world
Come and see from the eye of west
Even there are no positives
Such a hidden thing would be constant
To see the ruins
People are on pilgrimage
Eyes of look are quite
A gap of instances
Digging tunnels
Jumping over the wall
Looking for the west freedom
Have found expected goal?
Being Disappeared past
Are showed to new generation
Children are playing
In two sides of difference
Without having recognized
Broken down
It is not only the wall of Berlin
Broken down
Left branch dream
Though it is shown by hiding
Teaches a lesson
World is a field of Freedom
Is not one and only problem

Freedom
I used to think you understood
Taught me right and learnt me good
Made things simple for my brain
Told the truth and made it plain
But the implications I mistook
Until I found out whose side you took
And now with paper in my hand
Im beginning to understand
So this is freedom - {they must be joking}
They must be joking - {if they think its true}
So this is freedom - [i doubt their truth}
So this is freedom - {for me and you}
From the front page news to the interviews
Its sink the reds and left the blues
They pretend theyre differing points of view
But its only different shades of blue
But the implications I mistook
Until I found out whose side you took
And now with paper in my hand
Im beginning to understand
So this is freedom - {they must be joking}
They must be joking - {if they think its true}
So this is freedom - [i doubt their truth}
So this is freedom - {for me and you}
[guitar solo]
So this is freedom - {they must be joking}
They must be joking - {if they think its true}
So this is freedom - [i doubt their truth}
So this is freedom - {for me and you}

Writing On The Wall
Words and music by rick nielsen
All right, I saw the writing on the wall.
All night, I saw the writing on the wall,
I saw the writing on the wall.
Lo and behold, heard it on the radio.
It was a long time comin, but it sounds so sweet, come on, man, get off my back.
All right, I saw the writing on the wall.
All night, I saw the writing on the wall,
I saw the writing on the wall.
In the midwest and in the east.
Canada, southwest, around the world,
L.a., tokyo, sounds so sweet,
Come on honey, get on your feet.
All right, I saw the writing on the wall.
All night, I saw the writing on the wall,
I saw the writing on the wall.
The words were oh, so...
The words were oh, so clear.
All right, I saw the writing on the wall.
All night, I saw the writing on the wall,
I saw the writing on the wall.
Lo and behold, heard it on the radio.
It was a long time comin, but it sounds so sweet, come on, man, get off my back.
Saw it at the airport, it was on t.v.
Read it in a magazine, runnin down the street.
Makes no sense, but I hope its gonna last,
The next big thing, I really gotta laugh.
Worked and slaved and played like hell,
Everybodys goin crazy, youre the last to know.
Cant explain it, still a joke to me,
Maybe Im naive, cause its so plain to see.
Its right in front of your face, man.
Its right in front of your face, man.
Played like hell, whoa!
Played like hell, whoa!

Poem for Thorsten
My unique perfect love,
The world will never be separated in two parts from now on.
We need the freedom for feelings,
For our painful feelings.
My baron...
And my first fiancé....
We need to express our uniqueness....
We had all freedom for our pain...
Even we never understood the reason for our pain...
But we needed the freedom for love....
This great struggle for freedom, around the world....
The wall was broken, my love,
That visible wall...
The wall of broken dreams....
And you see, my love, it was not really our last dance..
Fighting for our souls,
Fighting between good and evil for our souls
And for this freedom....
And for this last chance
To dance together
Again and again
Like the very first time...
When we wanted to be really good....
A Melody restaurant
A picture with both of us
A very well sculptured door behind us...
Valea Draganului....
Me and you, absolutely meaning to be together.
Absolutely meaning to be existent...
The Lord looking
To both of us.
The Lord wanting for us
To be together.
Me and you being separated
By others
Losing our hopes
And hoping, at the same time,
that The Lord
Will change the world
For this love...

Full Of Emptiness
Full of emptiness
Broken promises
And love turned out so sad
The hurt goes on and on
Full of emptiness
Hello loneliness
Good friends will mind
The sands of time
Have slipped through my hands
From the bottom to the top
Why he had me feeling fine
Then I took a long long drop
When he walked out of my life
My world
Full of emptiness
That and something less
And memories of him
Have never seemed to be

More Than A Feeling
I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
till I see marianne walk away
I see my marianne walkin away
So many people have come and gone
Their faces fade as the years go by
Yet I still recall as I wander on
As clear as the sun in the summer sky
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
till I see marianne walk away
I see my marianne walkin away
When Im tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped awa y. she slipped away.
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)

Universal Freedom Is......
Freedom from hunger and freedom from pain
freedom from loss and so freedom from gain.
Freedom to give and freedom to share
freedom from want and that of despair.
Freedom to think and freedom to know
freedom to achieve and freedom to grow.
Freedom from bondage and freedom of liberation
freedom from ignorance and any unknown situation.
Freedom to come and freedom to leave
freedom to stay and freedom to conceive.
Freedom from struggle and freedom of ease
freedom to enjoy and the capacity to please.
Freedom from failure and freedom of success
freedom from denial and freedom of access.
Freedom from illusion and freedom of reality
freedom to become what we are in actuality.
Freedom to live and freedom to die
freedom to laugh and freedom to cry.
Freedom to speak and freedom to listen
freedom to act based on a wise decision.
Freedom from hate and freedom of love
freedom of below and freedom of above.
Freedom of the past and freedom of the present
freedom of the future and what it can represent.
Freedom from war and freedom of peace
freedom to begin and freedom to cease.
Freedom from sickness and freedom of health
freedom from poverty and mishandled wealth.
Freedom from wrong and freedom being right
freedom of the day and freedom of the night.
Freedom to choose and freedom to reject
freedom to imagine what there is to expect.
Freedom from lust and freedom from greed
freedom from anger and freedom from breed.
Freedom from jealousy and freedom from pride
freedom from within and freedom from outside.
Freedom of always not having anything to hide.
Freedom from space and also freedom from time
freedom from attachment and freedom from crime
Freedom to work and freedom to play
freedom to believe and freedom to pray.
Freedom to experience a rebirth someday.
Freedom from the body and freedom from the mind
freedom from the ego and freedom from being blind.
Freedom of transcendence being of the spiritual kind.
Universal freedom is eternal and infinite bliss
we should all therefore be able to realise this.

Freedom is yours
Take a look at your life
Round it up from right to left
left to right
left I might
Never look back
Pull up your pride
attack at its head
bring up the fight
Fight for the freedom
Freedom is yours
If you choose to take it
Freedom is yours
Never doubt you'll make it
Freedom is yours
Freedom is yours
Suburban ghetto prisons
It's all the same
Living up to community visions
Like we're all the same
Change your name
Release the pain
Strike fear in your opponents and make them curse the day you came
The time is now to step forward and keep your balance
The moment to improve your talents
Freedom is yours
You have to remember freedom is yours
Dip in the pool you choose
You're not the first one to break loose
Remove the chains
Forget all you know about the don'ts and do's
Be insane
Remove the chains
Freedom is yours
Freedom is yours
You have to remember freedom is yours
In The Night
You waken from a dream
You step outside
To find the world is changing
Under your feet
Somewhere in the past
Is the world you knew
Soon youll find that freedom
Is not so sweet
I cant imagine why youd throw it all away
After everything Ive said to you today
When you turn around to find theres
No one then you finally realize what youve done
In the night when theres no one there at all
In the night do you hear somebody call
You see someone and you tell yourself youre wrong
You hear a voice and you know it must belong
To the night just a shadow on the wall
And theres no one there at all
I gave you everything
Everything I had endlessly
Believing your love was true
And you will never know just how it hurt
To find that you were turning to someone new
I know that we cant ever change
What has been said but how can i
Believe our love is really dead
When you turn around to find theres no one
Then you finally realize what youve done
In the night when theres no one there at all
In the night do you hear somebody call
You see someone and you tell yourself youre wrong
You hear a voice and you know it must belong
To the night just a shadow on the wall
And theres no one there at all
-solo-
And when you turn around to find theres no one
Then you finally realize what youve done
In the night...

Loneliness Is A Hurting Thing
once my heart was full of joy as i grew up from a baby boy.
i learned to love and i learned to hate.
i learned to sit and contemplate.
i learned the abc's of right and wrong.
i learned to fight and become big and strong.
i was taught by my elders or so it seemed
all about life and what it means.
the one thing that they could not teach-for they had not
gotten to reach-that time of life when you're old and gray.
and it seems that life has slipped away
they had gone through life's hall of fame
joys and sorrows they all have gained.
life has only two guarantees-age and death or so it seems.
they go through life and children they bear
to find when they're old 'that kids don't care.
now if you listen while they pray-'you will hear a small voice say'
oh lord take me away-please don't let me live another day.
this loneliness i cannot bear! i have no one with whom
i could share-the joys and fulfillments of yesteryear.
'oh dear god is this to be-not even any company.
no one to speak to -no one to hold
no one to call my very own.
when you reach that golden age, you become
like an animal in a gilded cage.
you pace the floor from wall to wall
wondering if you have the gall.
to start your life all anew and try to forget your solitude.
yes my friends-i'll tell you now loneliness is a heavy crown.
i'll tell you this'my children beware' age and death are very near.
when you stop and turn around-another step you have found.
with life there is no turning back
no one to help pick up the slack.
with pride and determination you move along
head held high-eyes are strong.
to face the challenge of what is to be.
loneliness and hearthaches must comfort me.
