Apples And Oranges
Got a flip-top pack of cigarettes in her pocket
Feeling good at the top
Shopping in sharp shoes
Walking in the sunshine town feeling very cool
But the butchers and the bakers in the supermarket stores
Getting everything she wants from the supermarket stores
Apples and oranges
Apples and oranges
Cornering neatly she trips up sweetly
To meet the people
She's on time again
And then
I catch her by the eye then I stop and have to think
What a funny thing to do 'cause I'm feeling very pink
Apples and oranges
Apples and oranges
I love she
She loves me
See you
See you
Thought you might like to know
I'm the lorry driver man
She's on the run
Down by the river side
feeding ducks in the afternoon tide
(quack quack)
Apples and oranges
Apples and oranges
Apples and oranges

Little Red Apples
Out of Mother Nature
Came little red Apples'
That were grown
In the Garden of time
But God don't like
Little red Apples'
From which the Devil does dine
Women love to eat little red Apples'
In the Summer time
Men desire little red Apples'
Any old time
Winter, Summer, especially
When the Sun is high
In a clear blue Sky
The Devil does love
Little red Apples'
Man does love
Little red Apples'
Women love
Little red Apples'

Oranges On Apple Trees
Oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
Oranges on apple trees
Water comes and water goes
Where it ends up no one really knows
Water rises, water falls
Where it comes from no one knows for sure
It seeps from every pore
We have seen the rain before
Not like this - its flooding every shore
People come and people go
I can hear their laughter through the door
But no ones keeping score
Oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
One big happy family
Endless possibilities
(yeah and more)
Oranges and apple trees
I see your face in front of me
Cant believe what no one else could see
I feel it deep inside of me
Everything we love shall be released
And everyone will see
Oranges on apple trees (for sure)
I used to be the only one
Not now since youve come
You and I have seen the signs
Thats why the wind died
The wind died
Thats why oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
Endless possibilities (now)
Oranges on apple trees
All the things that we can see
Multi-gender wannabes
Oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
One big happy family
Endless possibilities (yeah yeah yeah)
Oranges on apple trees (for sure)

Oranges Testimonial
Mr. John Flansburgh: "Hey, this is John of They Might Be Giants. You might know me better as one of the guys from They Might Be Giants. You know, chemistry is like a relationship and that's why when you're looking for web design, go to the best: The Chopping Block. You might not know it, but over 50% of web designers are sleepy and cranky. The Chopping Block, through farm living and an active internship recruiting policy have over 10 million employees ready to serve your corporate whatever they call it. Orange powered and web-fueled, The Chopping Block... e-solutions to e-verybody."
Oranges

Oranges and graphic design
The Chopping Block spends their time
Growing oranges, picking oranges
Then working on graphic design
The Chopping Block works all the time
All the time

Meeting Angels
Meeting Angles
He had an overcoat on, looked hump backed and had a dreamy look
In his angelic eyes. I knew he was a seraph. He had bought a bag of
apples.” Forbidden fruit where I come from he said our master only
eats oranges so we have to eat that boring tasteless fruit too.” His
eyes looked livid now, but then he smiled and offered me an apple.
Two men, in big overcoats and holy smile, white Indoor faces, you
could see they were up to no good, came sidling up. Took the bag of
apples from the angel and gave it to me. One of them whispered to
me: Gab hasn’t been too well lately, he is obsessed by the story of
Adam and Eve and is longing to be cast out of heaven so he can taste
the sin of the flesh.” Three angles took their overcoats off- one did so
unwillingly- and blindingly naked they flew, into the sunset.

Why Oranges Are Beautiful
In total frankness,
I bear no particular fondness towards any of the fruits.
I'm sure there are nut-jobs who are obsessed by oranges (or indeed amazed by apples, captured by coconuts or plum-tuckered-out with enthusiasm for plums) .
Yet, they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
And, more than once, have I found myself with stinging beauty beholders after citrus juice squirted into them.
Therefore,
If oranges are beautiful,
And I have had their beauty in my beholders on more than one clumsy occasion,
Then surely if I behold hard enough I shall be favoured with their beauty?
They are (after all) a lovely colour,
And my favourite juice (above no other) .
Also, how very satisfying they are to peel.
And they do provide a taste of the exotic.
Under waxy peel (if I were to wax poetic) ,
I see delicate white veins tangle over sweet flesh,
Where baby seeds wait and rest.
And how easy the segments are to share.
I mean,
Perhaps if the Evil Queen, had poisoned an orange rather than an apple,
She would have got a lot more done that day.
You know,
If that's the way you (or your head) rolls.

The Showers
The showers beat on this side of the world,
This blindness is like a corner of the mind.
Anything with leaves and stems is creative,
The beating is on the apples and oranges, the fruit.
A whole sequence of events unfurls slowly,
Inside the house were streams, now there are floods.
The rotten fruit will become heavier,
And the whole world convenes politely.

Nothing Changes
nothing changes
the silence of the guitar
placed beside
the three ripe oranges
i change.
am the one that changes
beside the
silence of the guitars
among the basket
of rotten oranges.

Second, when comparing private school and public school test scores, it's like apples and oranges. Public schools have to take everyone, but private schools can be selective. It's not accurate or fair to compare the job they do.

Apples of Hesperides
Glinting golden through the trees,
Apples of Hesperides!
Through the moon-pierced warp of night
Shoot pale shafts of yellow light,
Swaying to the kissing breeze
Swings the treasure, golden-gleaming,
Apples of Hesperides!
Far and lofty yet they glimmer,
Apples of Hesperides!
Blinded by their radiant shimmer,
Pushing forward just for these;
Dew-besprinkled, bramble-marred,
Poor duped mortal, travel-scarred,
Always thinking soon to seize
And possess the golden-glistening
Apples of Hesperides!
Orbed, and glittering, and pendent,
Apples of Hesperides!
Not one missing, still transcendent,
Clustering like a swarm of bees.
Yielding to no man's desire,
Glowing with a saffron fire,
Splendid, unassailed, the golden
Apples of Hesperides!

These Apples
I am an open book to your heart,
I am the mirror that you look at daily;
Come and touch this sweet apples of mine.
I am the mirror of your love and,
My sweet apples are nicely prepared for you only;
Come and taste these apples.

Apples
I love apples,
Apples have crunch,
Lovely red apples,
Red, pink color, punch.
I love apple pies,
Family ties,
I love apple juice,
I call it zapple juice,
Without the fizz,
Or sugary twist,
Healthy fibre, Apple is.
Christmas Part 3 - Christmas Day
Christmas day arrives.
Stockings are first to be explored.
Oranges, apples and sweets.
On their beds adorn.
Mum and Dad are awoke,
at some early hour.
By children’s faces,
filled with laughter and smile.
Saying their presents,
they wish to explore.
Coloured paper and ribbons,
scattered here and there across the floor.
Boys with cars and girls with dolls,
seem to be everywhere.
As for the toys in the shops,
that were wanted, but not bought.
In the excitement of it all.
They are not missed
and very soon forgot.

From A Suggested But Wrong Tree
They've been reaching to grab apples,
From a suggested but wrong tree.
They chose to accept,
Their own offerings not as competitive.
And...
Their own apples just as sweet.
And far more delicious to nourish and eat.
They have been conditioned to ignore,
The brightness of their own colors...
Many others said they adored.
Letting those apples dropp and rot.
Only to discover too late,
The weakness of their branches...
That could have sustained them to enhance.

Dont Ya Tell Henry
Dont ya tell henry,
Apples got your fly.
I went down to the river on a saturday morn,
A-lookin around just to see whos born.
I found a little chicken down on his knees,
I went up and yelled to him,
Please, please, please!
He said, dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Apples got your fly.
I went down to the corner at a-half past ten,
Is lookin around, I wouldnt say when.
I looked down low, I looked above,
And who did I see but the one I love.
She said, dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Apples got your fly.
Now, I went down to the beanery at half past twelve,
A-lookin around just to see myself.
I spotted a horse and a donkey, too,
I looked for a cow and I saw me a few.
They said, dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Apples got your fly.
Now, I went down to the pumphouse the other night,
A-lookin around, it was outa sight.
I looked high and low for that big ol tree,
I did go upstairs but I didnt see nobody but me.
I said, dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Dont ya tell henry,
Apples got your fly.

Saturday Paseo: Adelina
Oranges
do not grow in the sea
neither is there love in Sevilla.
You in Dark and the I the sun that's hot,
loan me your parasol.
I'll wear my jealous reflection,
juice of lemon and lime-
and your words,
your sinful little words-
will swim around awhile.
Oranges
do not grow in the sea,
Ay, love!
And there is no love in Sevilla!
