Cafe On The Left Bank
Cafe on the left bank, ordinary wine
Touching all the girls with your eyes
Tiny crowd of frenchmen round a tv shop
Watching charles de gaulle make a speech
Dancing after midnight, sprawling to the car
Continental breakfast in the bar
English-speaking people drinking german beer
Talking far too loud for their ears
Cafe on the left bank, ordinary wine
Touching all the girls with your eyes
Dancing after midnight, crawling to the car
Cocktail waitress waiting in the bar
English-speaking people drinking german beer
Talking way too loud for their ears

Hungry Daze
In a dark and sweaty room in 69 tables turning
Dancing girls, silly girls, all kinds of girls and it was loud
Tuning up to madness in the back room candles burning
Present the stinking hippy and throw the naked thunder to the crowd
In the hungry daze
The long and lonely highway drags along its going nowhere
Sickness and disease and mad corruption somethings going wrong
The mountains getting cold and lonely the trees are bare
We all came out to montreux but thats another song
Youve heard it all before
In hungry daze
Along the mountain road to do some drinking
And now were mobile again
Different girls, laughing girls, forever girls and its so loud
The crew have lost again they are beaten men
The winning team united living for the crowd
These are the hungry daze

Yvette In English
He met her in a french cafe
She slipped in sideways like a cat
Sidelong glances
What a wary little stray!
She sticks in his mind like that
Saying, "avez-vous un allumette?"
With her lips wrapped around a cigarette
Yvette in english saying,
"please have this
Little bit of instant bliss."
He's fumbling with her foreign tongue;
Reaching for words and drawing blanks
A loud mouth is stricken deaf and dumb
In a bistro on the left bank
"if i were a painter," picasso said,
"i'd paint this girl from toe to head!"
Yvette in english saying,
"please have this
Little bit of instant bliss."
Burgundy nocturne tips and spills
They trot along nicely in the spreading stain
New chills, new thrills
For the old uphill battle
How did he wind up here again?
Walking and talking
Touched and scared
Uninsulated wires left bare
Yvette in english going,
"please have this
Little bit of instant bliss."
What blew her like a leaf his way?
(up in the air and down to earth)
First she flusters
Then she frays
So quick to question her own worth
Her cigarette burns her fingertips
As it falls like fireworks she curses it
Then sweetly in english she says,
"please have this,
Little bit of instant bliss."
He sees her turn and walk away
Skittering like a cat on stone--
Her high heels clicking--
What a wary little stray!
She leaves him by the seine alone
With the black water and the amber lights
And the bony bridge between left and right
Yvette in english saying,
"please have this
Little bit of instant bliss.

Good Time Girls
It's another summer holiday
We go looking out for the good time girls
Good time girls smarter than normal girls
Good time girls drinking and taking pills
Good time girls having a good time
Sit in the sun drinking expensive wine
Good time girls I want to be with you
Pick me up when I am feeling blue
It's another summer holiday
We go looking down for the good time girls
Good time girls smarter than normal girls
Good time girls straight hair and hair that curls
Good time girls having a good time
Sit in the sun drinking electric wine
Good time girls will you come out with me
Making me happy bringing me cups of tea (ha!)
Oh yes
Good time girls having a good time [etc...]

Friendship
The Friendship
Sven and I were best friends sailed on the same ship together.
he as a third officer and I as a cook. We were both interested
in reading, cinema and politics, and we liked go dancing when
our ship docked. One night in Kingston, Jamaica, we met two
girls at a beach cafe, I liked my girl there was an easy repartee
between us and we laughed a lot. Back onboard Sven said my
the girl was not suitable for me, I smiled, thought it a joke.
Next day was Sunday Sven went ashore after breakfast, going
to the beach, he said, I had to stay onboard and cook dinner.
He came back in the evening, when I was ready to go ashore
and meet my new girlfriend; Sven said he was very tired and
wanted to stay onboard for the night. When I met my girl at
the cafe, she appeared startled looked around and behind me
but said nothing; told she had been to the beach all day and
was quite exhausted, the easy talk between us was gone and
the silence was awkward, so I wordlessly just got up and left.
Back onboard, Sven sat in the mess-hall drinking coffee and
reading, he looked up said halloo but continued to read;
In my darkened room I looked out, full moon and the lights
of Jamaica looked alluring; I also saw Sven go ashore again and
it was well after midnight.

Two More Bottles Of Wine
(delbert mcclinton)
We came out west together with a common desire
The fever we had might-a set the west coast on fire
Two months later got a troublin mind
cause my baby moved out and left me behind
But its all right cause its midnight and I got two more bottles of wine
Well, the way he left sure turned my head around
Seemed like over night he just up and put me down
Aint gonna let it bother me today
cause Ive been workin and Im too tired anyway
But its all right cause its midnight and I got two more bottles of wine
Well, Im sixteen hundred miles from the people I know
Ive been doin what I can but opportunity sure comes slow
Thought Id be a big star by today
But Ive been sleepin in a warehouse in west l.a.
But its all right cause its midnight and I got two more bottles of wine
Yes, its all right cause its midnight and I got two more bottles of wine

She Ain't Your Ordinary Girl
(Robert Jason)
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She don't love carelessly that's what I've always heard
'Can't use the usual lines she measures every word
No empty promises proof is what it takes to win her heart
The truth and nothing less, simple things that set her far apart
Save your diamonds and your furs she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
No midnight alibis, no foolish games for her
And if you cross the line you'll get what you deserve
But when you see her smile nothing seems to matter anymore
And in a little while you'll feel like you've never felt before
Like no other in the world, she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
Save your diamonds and your furs, she ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl

Wine upon beer is very good cheer; beer upon wine consider with fear.
Wine (Love Poem)
Wine is for laughing
Wine is for talking all night
Wine is for living life out loud
Wine is for making us beautiful
Wine is for all-night conversations
Wine is for getting together again
Wine is for ‘never again’ tomorrow
Wine is for sleeping like a baby
Wine is for telling the truth
Wine is food for love
Wine is friendship
Wine is fresh

Sad Cafe
Out in the shiny night the rain
was softly falling
The tracks that ran down the boulevard had
all been washed away
Out of the silver light the past came softly calling
And I remember the times we spent
inside the Sad Cafe
Oh it seemed like a holy place
protected by amazing grace
And we would sing right out loud the
things we could not say
We thought we could change this world
with words like "love" and "freedom"
We were part of the lonely crowd
Inside the Sad Cafe
Oh, expecting to fly,
we would meet on that shore in the
sweet by and by
Some of their dreams came true,
some just passed away
And some of the stayed behind
inside the Sad Cafe.
The clouds rolled in and hid that shore
Now that Glory Train, it don't stop here no more
Now I look at the years gone by,
and wonder at the powers that be.
I don't know why fortune smiles on some
and let's the rest go free
Maybe the time has drawn the faces I recall
But things in this life change very slowly,
if they ever change at all
There's no use in asking why,
it just turned out that way
So meet me at midnight baby
inside the Sad Cafe.
Why don't you meet me at midnight baby,
inside the Sad Cafe

Something I Remember....
edu's father
left her mom
for an old woman
with
strategy.
with means.
it is for
citizenship
he justifies.
edu's mom is
a republic.
she says she
does not give
a damn.
and then there is
this edu's wedding.
i am drinking
wine beside my wife
and savoring
my salad.
edu's father comes
and opens a
topic.
know what? divorce is
painful
it tears hearts.
longer than you
can think of.
and i answered.
there is one thing about
divorce.
it is also
a reality.
in fact if you really
need it
for whatever purpose
it serves,
it becomes
one sweet
reality.
the music is so loud.
some women are dancing
the wobble.
the children want to
get away from the
watchful eyes of their
mama.
when he left,
i wonder
how and why i say
such
an intriguing
theory.
statistics will tell.

Night Clubbing
Endless records being spun.
Everybody's having fun.
Girls wearing sparkly tops.
The cork from a champagne bottle pops.
Girls with gelled and laquered hair,
Dance with hands up in the air.
The music with a boom boom beat,
Makes everybody move their feet.
Girls with delicate strappy shoes,
Sitting cross-legged drinking booze.
Downing drinks which are very fizzy,
And suddenly feeling rather dizzy.
Coloured lights flicker and flash.
Feeling sick, to the loo, people dash.
Music so loud, you can't be heard.
Trying to chat, you can't catch a single word.
Groups of girls having a laugh,
Watching the guys acting daft.
Groups of girls kiss and embrace,
All dressed up in satin and lace.
People at the bar are five or six deep:
The drinks, however, are far from cheap.
People are dancing on the floor.
There's a fight with bouncers at the door.
Cocktails topped with coloured umbrellas.
Girls on the hunt for handsome fellas.
Guys looking for willing girls to bed:
For one night stands - not to wed.
Girls pout with ruby red lips.
People go on drug induced 'trips.'
By the end of the night,
There's one more fight.
Soon, people head home,
By taxi or drunkenly roam.
Soon, they crawl into bed,
Complete with a very sore head!

Bank Holiday
Grandma needs new dentures
To eat the crust on pizza
Been taken out by her daughter
Because she thought she oughta
The kids are eating Snickers
Because they're so delicious
Then there's sticky fingers
And mother loses her knickers
CHORUS:
Bank holiday comes six times a year
Days of enjoyment to which everyone cheers!
Bank holiday comes with a six pack of beer
Then it's back to work - A! G! A-I-N!
Barbecue is cooking
Sausages and chicken
The patio is buzzing
And neighbours they are looking
John is down the fun pub
Drinking lots of lager
Girls and boys are on the game
And all the high streets look the same
CHORUS
Back to work - A! G! A-I-N!
CHORUS
Bank holiday!

Just Another Day
Bobby doll and big jim picato
Call me up every single day
They dont work and they dont want to
Come on down to some damn cafe
Bobby doll tells me
Live in the moment
Dont get too far ahead-
Dont live in the past
I blink my eyes
And the moment is over
I guess another day
Has passed
Chorus:
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
Bobby doll and big jim picato
Always there with their free advice
Theyve got pearl handled pistols
Underneath their wests
They want me to go out drinking
With them tonight
Chorus:
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
You got to clean white sheets
In the mornin? br> conversation all afternoon
Bobby doll and big jim picato, baby
And me and you
Chorus:
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day

D.J.'s
By the way, every little thing about her face
Fills him up, the image so pleasing it could never be erased
Here to stay, embedded in his mind, he wishes they could be together all
the
time
By the way she says things, the tone, just to hear her voice
He can't explain, the sound so exciting to him a perfect choice
Here to stay, embedded in his mind, he wishes they could be together all
the
time
Crazy independent spanish speaking arty flirty red wine drinking sexy
tomboy
With a natural way of thinking carefree innocent she's slightly sneaky
Confident and proud from another country has her way lives for today by
the
Way she's far away
By the way, holding her, hugging her can feel so warm
Just think about it, two bodies embracing, creating love in this form
Here to stay, embedded in his mind, he wishes they could be together all
the
time
Crazy independent spanish speaking arty flirty red wine drinking sexy
tomboy
With a natural way of thinking crazy
Then she kissed him and she went away
Far across to San Francisco Bay
You'd think that she would think again
And only want to be with him
Regardless of the things that pull her far away, she's far away...
Crazy independent spanish speaking arty flirty red wine drinking sexy
tomboy
With a natural way of thinking crazy
By the way she's far away and by the way she's far away
Crazy independent spanish speaking arty flirty red wine drinking
By the way she's far away and by the way she's far away

Worldly People
Worldly people,
Drugs and heavy drinking!
But these overwhelming pleasures has its own disadvantages,
And there are problems to this effect.
Wine or beer when sparingly used is beneficial to one's health,
But be very wise in this world than to waste your life!
For drugs and heavy drinking will lead you nowhere.

Saving Ev
As I was going to bed,
I heard loud
shouts directed at Ev.
I ran outside to the front,
girls yelling words
mean and blunt.
Girls punching Ev,
I did break in,
and make sure Ev
got air to breathe again.
Then I broke away and
ran towards the door,
along with Ev,
girls running after all four.
The door did shut
but girls were strong,
cops came fast
before too long.
A shoe was left outside,
girls thought we were
trying to hide.
The cop pressed charges
and girls went to court.
Ev 'let it go' that was his retort.
Now Ev says if I hadn’t jumped in,
there would be no more left of him.
Thank God I did or I would be left
with less one friend.
