Li Po drowns
Li Po sits drinking wine;
he is in his garden
below the tree
reciting his poems to the night
and he sings to the cool air
and he sings to the moon
and he drinks more in between
Li Po walks to the lake
and he sings to the moon:

Scar
A grey day in February
Some flecks of white, but mostly brown
Purple surprises riding in on a nerve
Begins to excite you before it settles down
It's after the knives and the sutures and needles
I'm left with an arrow that points at my heart
I call it the seat of my sentimental sorrow
Gone seems to be one of the sum of my parts
And the night is cold

As The Night Draws In
The night drew in, the moon lowered hiding from the world
Passion consumed with the lust of love
A night of power and joy
Pleasure and relief
Sensitive music and scented candles to set a mood
New sheets soon to be dirtied and defiled as pleasure consumes the conscious mind

Darkness And Daylight
You love the day, worship the light.
You mourn the setting of the sun, hide from the night.

I curse the light of day, though most would praise and cheer.
I say if there were no light, the dark would hold no fear.
How would we feel about the dark if the harsh bright sun had never shone?
