Vultures
Say boys and girls dont you want to have fun
Why bother to walk when youd rather run
Why bother with books when youve got a gun
Come fly with me right into the sun
In another world, in another time
I can picture you and me together
If I close my eyes tight and think real hard
I can float lighter than a feather
If I try even harder who knows what I might find
Why maybe a pearl of wisdom
I would trade these pearls for a parcel of flesh
In flesh we were all invented
Is it time to play? said the ratboy to the ratgirl
Can we fly today, can we look here for some fresh kill
In concentric circles well carve up the sky
Looking for a big surprise
Fly like a vulture, fly like a vulture....
In another world, in another time
I can picture us a happy family
With our happy kids all flying all around
And leaving far behind the rat-race
Is it time to play? said the tortoise to the rabbit
Can we fly today, are we creatures all of habit
In concentric circles well carve up the sky
Waiting for a big surprise
Fly like a vulture, fly like a vulture...
Say boys and girls dont you want to have fun
Why bother to crawl when youd rather run
Why bother to walk when youd rather fly
Come join the party way up in the sky
Is it time to play? said the ratboy to the ratgirl
Can we fly today, can we look here for some fresh kill
In concentric circles well carve up the sky
Looking for a big surprise
Fly like a vulture, fly like a vulture...

Vulture Culture
Lenny zakatek - lead vocal
Somehow you made it in the big wide world
And youre absolutely home and dry
You got away from a one horse town
And the only way out was to fly
You heard a lot about an easy street
And it seems like the place to be
You heard some talk about a slippery slope
But you think it cant happen to me
Vulture culture
Use it or you lose it
Vulture culture
Choose it or refuse it
Hollywood is calling wont you join the dance
Moving onto wall street why not take a chance
Its a vulture culture
Never lend a loser a hand
Just a vulture culture
Living off the fat of the land
Nowhere to turn around and catch your breath
Its all relatively trouble free
No need to bother with the bottom line
Or a money back guarantee
You sign a deal thats been etched in stone
Its absolutely cut and dry
Thats when they got you in the danger zone
And the only way out is to die
Vulture culture
Use it or you lose it
Vulture culture
Choose it or refuse it
Hollywood is waiting striking up the band
Everyone on wall street shakes you by the hand
Such a vulture culture
Never lend a loser a hand
Just a vulture culture
Living off the fat of the land
Use it or you lose it
Choose it or refuse it
Hollywoods a no go not a second chance
Nobody on wall street gives a second glance
Its a vulture culture
Moving to the beat of the band
Its a vulture culture
Never lend a loser a hand
Its just a vulture culture
Living off the fat of the land

Orange County
Orange County, home of cultures
where the rats will sometimes race,
now is also home for vultures
dropping shit on every face,
as well as cars you have to wash
every time you’re in the county.
People will not think you’re posh,
covered with this avian bounty,
if you live in Newport Beach,
or in Irvine, or in Tustin;
though the bird shit looks like bleach
or the sands of St. Augustine,
for there is a disconnect
separating O.C. culture
from my culture in L.A.,
since I am a culture vulture,
and the County’s birds of prey
bother me, so I hold fonder
woods of Beverly where I,
peacefully inside my Honda,
never vulture shit espy.

Bad days ahead
Bad days go, go ahead of time
Vulture devours the world of poem
Clever fox takes shelter behind the culture.
My fertile land is bitten by poisonous teeth
of black cobra
She becomes pregnant again again
but bears only vulture, fox and swine.
Bad days go, go ahead of time.

When it is in an unlucky phase, the vulture below, shits on the vulture above.
Plagiaristic Dream
If I did not respect the craft itself,
My approach would be less fresh.
I do not understand,
The mindset of vulture.
One who picks over...
Those of fame to make a name.
Or make aims to infuse,
An excuse for originality.
If I did not respect the craft itself,
My approach would be less fresh.
And the art of poetry...
Would be a plagiaristic dream.
Discovered today by many,
With that mindset it seems.
'Anything to advance,
A jackass believed to be enhanced! '
~And I thought we were talking about vultures? ~
Pay attention!
Again!
...If I did not respect the craft itself,
My approach would be less fresh.
I do not understand,
The mindset of vulture...

Boys & Girls
Boys and girls come out to play, playing till theyre old and grey
Time to leave the old school suit, grown ups can be real cute
Do you think theyre wiser than in the past
How long do you think its gonna last
I dont have to prove to you adults can be kidding too
Boys and girls I love you dearly
But I hate to have you near me
Boys and girls - ahh
Boys and girls - ahh
Boys and girls - ahh
Boys and girls stay home today
Think theyre more mature that way
Secret friends can soon be found
Indiscretions underground
Maybe growing up can seem more graceful
If they make their style become more tasteful
With your looks you could go far
But better watch the calendar-iahhh
(the sound of a church wedding)
Boys and girls I love you dearly
But I hate to have you near me
Boys and girls - ahh

Oops
“oh, it was an accident
i didn’t mean to hurt you”
how many times have i heard that…
i can’t count
too many
and i think
yeah, right
you’re not sorry
and never will be
you’ll always leave me hanging
on that single thread
hanging onto one hope
you’re not sorry
and never will be
screaming through my window
you’re not sorry
and now my words pay you back…
oops, it was an accident
i didn’t mean to hurt you
and laughing out into the darkness
send a dove-
no, you’re not worthy of a dove-
a pigeon?
a crow?
a vulture?
perfect, a vulture
send a vulture
to take a whisper to you
of how much i’m hurting
maybe that will teach you
give you a taste of yourself
and i’m disgusted
again and again
again and again and again
again and again and again and again…
oops
Myth of Strangling Flotilla
let the sea find its horizon, with the dune touches to the
sand in the seashore of no where, nothing left but
a skeleton of vulture crib
hard to find a tree that nay touches its root to the ground
and as the birds fly in the running water of doubt, envy
and fallacy torch the day with a flame of the night
hand over the cards, nothing lost, something to pull, and
the weather seems sunny and cloudy though the dark covers
the day empty yet fulfilling the traveler vulture of the flesh
let me dear open the eyes of friendship, for the moon
blinks for sometimes to light the deem world of lost, all
my words hear and listen the voice of the unknown Being
tie together and hold on the sacred whisper of the Lord
God....

School Cafeteria - Version 1
Is it on? okay
1, 2, 1, 2, 5, 6
Let me tell you bout the school cafeteria
Its got all the others beat
It sells over four million burgers a year
Just think, thats almost two pounds of meat
My ice cream sandwich is lukewarm
But my burrito is much too cold
A school cafeteria is the only place
That sells artificially colored mold
You know a school cafeteria believes in mass production
They buy those lousy soy beans by the keg
I dont like to complain, but in a school cafeteria
You can get a taco and get bubonic plague
Today in the school cafeteria
They introduced a brand new malt
Its called boysenberry dysentery
Please pass the salt
The tunafish sandwichesll make you ill
The enchiladas are enough to kill
Before you eat, youd better make out your will
In the school cafeteria today
Say, boys and girls, tired of being skinny
Eat a school lunch today
All starch and cholesterol
Absolutely no protein
Remember, fourteen million teenagers cant be wrong
Feel your arteries growing hard
As you eat another healthy spoonful of lard
Its no wonder that the food is so gross
The health department is afraid to come close
So everybody better hold your nose
In the school cafeteria today
So listen very closely, all you girls and guys
Heres a little message to the wise
Youd better not try the chili surprise
In the school cafeteria today, oh yeah
In the school cafeteria today

The Vulture and the Husbandman
By Louisa CarolineN.B. -- A Vulture is a rapacious and obscene bird, whichdestroys its prey by plucking it limb from limb with its powerfulbeak and talons.A Husbandman is a man in a low position of life, who supportshimself by the use of the plough. -- (Johnson's Dictionary).
The rain was raining cheerfully,
As if it had been May;
The Senate-House appeared inside
Unusually gay;
And this was strange, because it was
A Viva-voce day.
The men were sitting sulkily,
Their paper work was done;
They wanted much to go away
To ride or row or run;
"It's very rude," they said, "to keep
Us here, and spoil our fun."
The papers they had finished lay
In piles of blue and white.
They answered every thing they could,
And wrote with all their might,
But, though they wrote it all by rote,
They did not write it right.
The Vulture and the Husbandman
Beside these piles did stand,
They wept like anything to see
The work they had in hand.
"If this were only finished up,"
Said they, "it would be grand!"
"If seven D's or seven C's
We give to all the crowd,
Do you suppose," the Vulture said,
"That we could get them ploughed?"
"I think so," said the Husbandman,
"But pray don't talk so loud."
"O undergraduates, come up,"
The Vulture did beseech,
"And let us see if you can learn
As well as we can teach;
We cannot do with more than two
To have a word with each."
Two Undergraduates came up,
And slowly took a seat,
They knit their brows, and bit their thumbs,
As if they found them sweet,
And this was odd, because you know
Thumbs are not good to eat.
"The time has come," the Vulture said,
"To talk of many things,
Of Accidence and Adjectives,
And names of Jewish kings,
How many notes a sackbut has,
And whether shawms have strings."
"Please, Sir," the Undergraduates said,
Turning a little blue,
"We did not know that was the sort
Of thing we had to do."
"We thank you much," the Vulture said,
"Send up another two."
Two more came up, and then two more,
And more, and more and more;
And some looked upwards at the roof,
Some down upon the floor,
But none were any wiser than
The pair that went before.
"I weep for you," the Vulture said,
"I deeply sympathise!"
With sobs and tears he gave them all
D's of the largest size,
While at the Husbandman he winked
One of his streaming eyes.
"I think," observed the Husbandman,
"We're getting on too quick.
Are we not putting down the D's
A little bit too thick?"
The Vulture said with much disgust
"Their answers make me sick."
"Now, Undergraduates," he cried,
Our fun is nearly done,
"Will anybody else come up?"
But answer came there none;
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd ploughed them every one!

Dont Bother Me
Dont come round here looking for my sympathy
Dont come round here looking for my prayers
You spent the eighties in a trance
Yeah you led us all on a merry dance
Now its sad to say that I dont care
You were always advocating power games
You were always gonna be a star
You made your money, had your fun
Made a video bout how its done
Aint put it in my vcr
So far
Dreams fall into disrepair
Theres a change in the air
Your lies
Will lead you to despair
Dont bother me
(castles in the sand slip through your hand)
Dont bother me - I dont give a damn
Dont bother me
(try to understand its in your hand)
Dont bother me
Well no amount of liquor, babe, can drown the blues today
No amount of pills can ease the pain
When the body electric and the vision thing
Is all it takes to make the people sing
Lets hope we dont get fooled again
My friend
Dreams fall into disrepair
Theres a change in the air
Theres a girl who says she cares
And her love
Will leave you standing there
Dont bother me
(I cant change your mind when youre so blind)
Dont bother me - I cant spare the time
Dont bother me
(takes an ocean wide to turn tide)
Dont bother me - love cant be denied
Dont bother me
(castles in the sand slip through your hand)
Dont bother me - I dont give a damn
Dont bother me

Im A Country Boy
(allen collins - ronnie vanzant)
New york city is a thousand miles away
And if you ask me, Ill tell you thats ok
Now Im not trying to put the big apple down
cause they dont need a man like me in town
I pick cotton down on the dixie line
Work hard all day tryin to make a dime
But thats allright, thats ok by me
cause thats the way that it was meant to be
Big city, hard times dont bother me
Im a country boy, Im as happy as I can be
I dont like smoke chokin up my air
And some of those city folks well they dont care
I dont like cars buzzing around
I dont even want a piece of concrete in my town
I like sunshine, fresh clean air
Makes me feel like you wouldnt care but
Thats all right, each to his own
But one smell from the city
And this country boy is gone
Big city, hard times dont bother me
Im a country boy, Im as happy as I can be
Well, I dont want to even read about it
Let me tell you something, let me tell you true
Whats right for me might not be right for you
Well, you live your way, Ill live mine
And I hope that your happy all the time
I pick cotton down on the dixie line
Work hard all day tryin to make a dime
But thats all right, thats ok by me
cause thats the way that it was supposed to be
Big city, hard times never bother me
Im a country boy, Im as happy as I can be
Let me tell ya, ... I said
Big city, hard times never bother me
Im a country boy, Im as happy as I can be
Ooh, thats my way, baby
I dont want you to even tell me about the big city
I dont want to read about it...

Every Now Then
He says everybodys crazy
No one knows how to live
He takes another drink of whiskey and says
No one knows how to give
He says everybodys lonely
And they love to talk about it
They say if I could have you only
You know Id never doubt it
Id never doubt it
Every now and then you were in love with me
Every now and then you came to find me
Every now and then youd be in love with me
Surprise, surprise its me again
Its every now and then
My boyfriends on the fringe
He says that Im naive
He says this world makes him cringe
Sometimes hed rather leave
My boyfriends on the blink
He says he cant pretend
Hes had too much to drink
And its coming to the end
Its coming to the end
Every now and then you were in love with me
Every now and then you came to find me
Every now and then youd be in love with me
Surprise, surprise its me again
Its every now and then
Every now and then youd be in love with me
Surprise, surprise look in my eyes
Its every now and then
Every now and then youd get down on your knees
And cry to me, cause once again
Its every now and then

Needle In A Haystack
(william stevenson / norman whitfield)
Well, well, I once believed
All fellas were nice
But girls, listen to me
And take my advice
A-girls, youd better get yourselves
On the right track
cause finding a good man, girls
Is like finding a
(needle in a haystack)
A-what did I say, girls?
(needle in a haystack)
Girls, those fellas are sly, slick and shy, yeah
Oh, dont you ever let them catch you looking starry-eyed
Theyll tell you that their love is true
And theyll walk right over you
Now girls, youd better know these things
A-right off a-the bat
cause finding a good man, girls
Is like finding a
(needle in a haystack)
What did I say, girls?
(needle in a haystack)
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Well, now girls, I say, Im tellin you the natural facts
cause finding a good man, girls
Is like finding a
(needle in a haystack)
What did I say, girls?
(needle in a haystack)
Im telling you, girls
Youd better look before you leap
Still water sometimes is a-very deep
Youll be in sorrow when you discover
That youre just his pasttime lover
Girls, youd better know these things
A-right off a-the bat
cause finding a good man, girls
Is like finding a
(needle in a haystack)
What did I say, girls?
(needle in a haystack)
I say youd better take heed
And listen to me
Youd better play hard to get
Or youre gonna regret
The day you were born, yeah
A-when you leaves you alone
I bet, youd better regret
Oh, youd better regret

Parable For A Certain Treasurer (Allegory)
Oh ponder, friend, the lion
when he roars all the games scatters,
runs away and on and on
are scared that he will rip them to tatters.
How powerful is he
and where he hunts there’s trouble,
for most frailer animals a kind of emergency
as he rushes in for a kill at the double.
Yet as age encumbers him
he is driven from the pack
and looses his self-esteem
while in vain he tries to get his position back
and when old, wounded and in pain
at a time he gets real thin
and even fears the thunder that comes with rain
while it’s a pitiful position that he is in
as through the years he had developed his skills
but a time comes that his kingdom to him is lost
while he not apt to make anymore kills
and finally he has to pay the cost
while every vulture, hyena and jackal
runs circles around him while he snaps in vain
and continually the struggle is for nothing at all
while he doesn’t find anything to gain.

Sorry
Please dont say sorry
Presuming a respect for what you say
If in your heart you mean it
Then youll understand me feeling
You must prove it; sign the cheque without delay
Most humbly yours, four hundred years back pay
(chorus)
Im not begging charity
Dont confuse the things I say
Give me what belongs to me
Give me what belongs to me
Just dont say sorry
As if that can excuse this tyranny
No value in your talking
Money speaks and bullshits walking
Round in circles re-inventing history
Trying to erase our memory
(chorus)
I'm not begging .....etc
If you say sorry
Can I assume youve realised the shame
The seeds of your oppression
Fall and ripen with aggression
You cant hold us any longer with your chains
Time to compensate us for our claims
Dont bother wi no sorry
Dont bother wi delay
A four hundred years
Is not just the other day
Im not begging charity
Dont confuse up your mind
Payment overdue
Fe a long long time
You come a we gate
No bother hesitate
You tek away we tings
Like a damn pirate

Dum Dum Diddle
I can hear how you work, practising hard
Playing night and day, woah-oh
And it sounds better now
Yes, you improve every time you play, woah-oh
But its bad
Youre so sad
And youre only smiling
When you play your violin
Dum-dum-diddle, to be your fiddle
To be so near you and not just hear you
Dum-dum-diddle, to be your fiddle
I think then maybe youd see me, baby
Youd be mine
And wed be together all the time
Wish I was, dum-dum-diddle, your darling fiddle
But I think you dont know that I exist
Im the quiet kind, woah-oh
From the day when I first listened to you
Youve been on my mind, woah-oh
You dont care
Its not fair
And youre only smiling
When you play your violin
Dum-dum-diddle, to be your fiddle
To be so near you and not just hear you
Dum-dum-diddle, to be your fiddle
I think then maybe youd see me, baby
Youd be mine
And wed be together all the time
Dum-dum-diddle, to be your fiddle
To be so near you and not just hear you

The Girls Want To Be With The Girls
The girls dont want to play like that,
They just want to talk to the boys.
The just want to do what is in their hearts,
And the girls want to be with the girls.
(chorus)
And the boys say, what do you mean?
And the boys say, what do you mean?
Well there is just no love,
When theres boys and girls.
And the girls want to be with the girls,
And the girls want to be with the girls.
Girls want things that make common sense,
The best for all concerned.
They dont want to have to go out of their way,
And the girls want to be with the girls.
(chorus)
And the boys say, what do you mean?
And the boys say, what do you mean?
Well there is just no love,
When theres boys and girls.
And the girls want to be with the girls,
And the girls want to be with the girls.
Girls are getting into abstract analysis,
They want to make intuitive leap.
They are making plans that have far reaching effects.
And the girls want to be with the girls.
(chorus)
And the boys say, what do you mean?
And the boys say, what do you mean?
Well there is just no love,
When theres boys and girls.

Dry Day
Life as you know will end someday
Since every single day is never the same
Yesterday was a dark age following in today
What a surprise because today was a dry day
You got nothing to do but get wasted
Listen to me brother, don't get me arrested
We gotta break free from this stupid law
What a surprise because today was a dry day
All along as the clock ticked by I waited
It seemed as if the time was all destined
A moment of space without you I stay
What a surprise because today was dry day
Grieving low all past long when I'm high
Help me grace, love will relieve the pain
Let us explore the world as the drunk one said
What a surprise because today was dry day
As past enfolds into this mystery today
I look behind back in those days
Suck glorious moments filled us held today
What a surprise because today was dry day
