Not Leavin? Yet

Come lie next to me Jesus Christ
holes in hand where a cross used to fit just right
the meeting called...the topic: a ladies fate
you don't have to remind me
I won't be late
please excuse me, I'm sorry, I just can't wait
and don't use grandfather as the bait
down the hall a baby boy just born
rosaty around a crown of thorns
please excuse me, I'm sorry, I just can't wait
and don't use grandfather as the bait
no...
can't you see the lady's not ready
hands and feet are bound and unsteady
in the hall the family's grieving
I'm the one who stays
I'm not leavin' yet

Cant Let It Get Away

John mcfee / nicolette larson / patrick simmons
Everything comes to an end
Few have time to wait
Well my patience, lord, is wearin thin
The hours gettin late
The ladies come and go
Barely turn my head
But you make me feel
Like a change is coming
Ive been wastin time
Im ready for you
Im leavin my past behind
Im ready for you
Cant let it get away
Its gettin closer
Cant let it get away
Im feelin better
Cant let it get away, oh no
Cant let it get away, cant let it get away
Oh it was worth the wait
But I wont wait no more
I never believed in fate now, baby
Ive been wrong before
This time Im really givin it all
And I aint got time to wait
You make me feel
Like a change is comin
Ive been wastin time
Im ready for you
Im leavin my past behind
Im ready for you
Cant let it get away
Its gettin closer
Cant let it get away
Im feelin better
Cant let it get away, oh no
Cant let it get away, cant let it get away

Waiting's Worse.

Waiting's worse. She knows it.
That old feeling known since
childhood. Then it was the parent,
the heavy hand, the punishment.

This is like it, but not like it. She
waits for him to come home. His
footfalls in the hall, his voice along
the passage. To gauge the tone,

the loud or softness. She sits, waits.
Be prepared, the mother said,
years back. The clock in the hall
sounds loud with its tick tock. Puts

hands between the thighs, anxiety
bites. For better for worse, the
vows said. Bruises like medals,
black eyes as reminders, a colour

ranging from black and blue to green
to brown or whatever it is. She cocks
an ear. Him? Maybe. The last time
it was she'd been seen with some

feller. She'd not of course. But it suited
as an excuse. She'd lost the baby by
the fall down stairs. What was that
all about? Was that the time she had

been late with his dinner? Or was that
some other? Baby'd be walking now.
Missed the first steps, the first word,
the live birth. Is that him? She bites a

finger nail. Feelings seem to run along
the nerves. What to say? What words?
The door opens along the hall, his voice
echoes mildly, we shall wait, we shall see.

O my God excuse me

O my God excuse me
Excuse me.
Without borrowing and
Without stealing
It is quite impossible
To live with dignity
And what is dignity
I am unable to understand
O God excuse me.

O my God excuse me
Excuse me.
Being human
I be committed to
Public cause
I am not able to do it
O God excuse me.

O my God excuse me
Excuse me.
I am unable to practice
Tolerance and create
Nuisance
I am unable to understand
O God excuse me.

O my God excuse me
Excuse me.
The mistake I have done
And the punishment
I have got
O God excuse me
Excuse me.

Say It Bait It And Run

You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it and berate it.

You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it,
Leave and run.

How we slid to the bottom from the top.
Say it bait it and run.
Who did what to start this problem.
Say it bait it and run.
Corruption done under dirty rugs.
Say it bait it and run.
What thugs brought this to fisticuffs.
Say it bait it and run.
What party pooped their rule.
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cool and cuckoo too!
Say it bait it and run.

You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it and berate it.

You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it,
Leave and run.

Who's too cool and cuckoo too!
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cuckoo and too cool.
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cool and cuckoo too!
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cuckoo and too cool.
Say it bait it and run.

But that cool cuckoo's no fool.
To cause what has been done!

You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it and berate it.

You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it,
Leave it and run.

Im Not Jesus

Dont wear a crown of thorns
Got no holes in my hand
Dont accuse me of that crime
Dont hang me up to dry
Its not me its not me its not me
Dont wanna die for your sins
Got no special powers sacrifise and
Sacrilege hey man, I wanna live
Im not jesus I cant heal you
Taste my blood it doesnt taste like wine
Cant you see this cross isnt mine
Judas must die for what he has done
Satans watching with his gun
Its not me its not me its not me
Father, son and holy ghost
Say your prayers-its your only hope
Twelve apostle cant help you now
Ill be back to stake my ground
Im not jesus I cant heal you
Im not jesus I cant heal you
Dont wear a crown of thorns
Got no holes in my head
Dont accuse me of that crime

Grandfather Clock

The old grandfather clock stood in the hall
It kept time for us all
Through winter, spring, summer, fall

When I was young I would say
The big hand is on five today
and that's how I told time that way

As I progressed in age
Time was read in the correct usage
And time became more of a gauge

Time to go to school and learn
Time to work for what you earn
Time to leave no stone unturned

Time for weddings dresses worn
Time for children to be born
Time for graduation gowns adorned

Time for me, time for you
Time to see things through
Time for living and dieing too

The old grandfather clock still keeps time
Counting the hours that life is prime
So make the most or be left behind

That Can Wait

As you are growing older,
The time just flies with fate,
Some normal chores can be done
While other chores can wait. Try to have fun every day,
Plan for another state,
Yet slow down for more pleasure
Because the rest can wait. Pleasure becomes important,
and golf may be the bait,
Enjoy the fun of playing,
Since other things can wait. Trips can be quite wonderful,
When you surprise your mate,
Other plans will change quickly,
But they can surely wait. Try to write a new poem,
Then plan completion date,
Enter it in the contest,
Everything else can wait.

The Old Family Picture

In the old
black-and-white
family picture,
I see
great grandfather
dead drunk
with his hat
slightly skewed.
In the same old

I see
grandfather
as drunk as
his father is
with his hat
also slightly skewed.
Father fools
great grandfather
and grandfather
with his rice-washed-water
as the good old home-made

They all believe him.

Satan's Lures

Satan loves the sport of fishing.
His tackle box filled with bait,
he goes out to the lake of life
to cast his line, and wait.

The devil knows us, every one
and knows which lures to use.
In accordance with our weaknesses
he determines which to choose.

Dishonesty, pornography,
pride, selfishness and hate.
False witness, greed, the list goes on.
The sin becomes the bait.

Many bite and are deceived.
And in a snap they're hooked.
They learn too late that Satan's bait
is not as it had looked.

It's important that we choose the right
for this life is our test;
and when we choose to do what's right
we truly will be blessed.

So feed on Heavenly Fathers words.
Great blessings will be yours,
as you watch and pray, and stay away
from Satan and his lures.

True Dancing Souls

Our souls want to dance forever
not now. for you must see
Fate brought us together
too soon, he did

Finish your journey with her
and waiting I’ll be
For fate brought us together
too soon, he did

On future days we’ll be forever
our lives as one.
For fate brought us together
too soon, he did

Our lips touch, our souls dance
bounded we’ll be soon
For now wait we must because
Fate brought us together
too soon, he did

Soul mates forever but not for now
we wait, for time will come.
For fate brought us together
too soon, he did

Friends for now but forever we’ll be
wrapped by the music.
For fate brought us together
too soon, he did

For eternity or forever I’ll wait
one day we’ll be
Together happily without her
For fate brought us together
too soon you see

Fate brought us together
too late he did
For years ago we met
yet now we see our love

Fate brought us together
too late he did.
Not speaking one word,
we saved our lives

Fate brought us together
too late he did
We share now our memories
As our souls join
together they dance eternally

Our love now stays strong
our patience grows weak
No worries my love for
Fate brought us together
too soon but not too late

Faltering Response

There’s so many who need God’s Son, but as they bask in temporal fun,
They’re not mindful of God at all, being spiritually tainted by Adam’s fall,
To all of The Church we must appeal, as we’ve been asleep at the wheel,
Sometimes allowing to be ignored, men who desperately need The Lord.

Are we simply accepting their fate, while we, for Jesus, just quietly wait?
Knowing that eternity for all is real, have we, in The Church lost our zeal?
The zeal we had after we found Him, our Lord who saved us from all sin,
Who snatched us from the lake of fire, to fill us with a strong new desire.

A desire to point those who are lost, to the Salvation of Calvary’s Cross,
To reach all of our friends and family, with God’s Truth all about Eternity.
What stymied our need and desire, to point all men to an eternity higher?
A Heaven above the eternal abyss, far from Satan and each accomplice.

We need to wake from our slumber, to add more souls to God’s number,
Of those found in the Book of Life, that Book compiled by Jesus Christ,
Of all those souls upon this earth, who came to Christ through New Birth,
Born Again of God’s Spirit above, when they receive God’s Gift of Love.

And then our Lord places His trust, as He commissions every one of us,
All who in Christ, have been Born Again, to be for Christ, fishers of men,
And now with time getting so late, Believers must seriously contemplate,
Serving Christ with all our heart, before the time, the Church does depart.

Born From Above

There are many men upon this earth, who never heard of a spiritual birth,
Like Nicodemus, a curious one, a Pharisee, who questioned God’s Son.
Christ replied to Nicodemus in love, that man must be born from above,
Born of God, through Jesus Christ, who came to grant all men New Life.

Not born a second time, physically, but, in Christ, Born Again spiritually,
Born of God’s Spirit, so we can see, with our heart, The Truth of eternity.
With a focus that is now upon God, as you continue on this earthly sod,
With a Hope we didn’t have before, through Jesus Christ our Risen Lord.

Nicodemus, although a religious man, was not fit for God’s Eternal Plan.
For apart from the Savior’s Love, he would not see The Kingdom above.
Alone, man’s religious affiliation, has no bearing on the Lord’s Salvation,
But, simply your belief in God’s Son, who died on a cross for everyone.

To be born again of God’s Spirit, just accept God’s Truth as you hear it,
Just accept Christ, who died for sins, and New Life for you then begins.
All your flesh will remain the same, although you’ve become Born Again,
It’s your heart which God changes, as your inner thoughts He rearranges.

Just like a child is born into life, through faith we’re born in Jesus Christ,
When born anew into God’s family, to become His child through eternity.
Born from above, to live for Him, Jesus Christ, who died for all our sins,
Saving us at the cross of Calvary, Christ provides us a new life eternally.

The Master's Hand

The painter was a genius,
His pupil knew this well,
For in the times that they discuss
They bond as in a spell...
They think such thoughts that change their art,
Their purpose and their style,
Such that new wisdom can impart
Its reasons for a smile...

The pupil spent a whole weekend
Within the studio,
Together with his brand new friend,
Who seemed all things to know...
The painting pupil's Easter scene
Was called The Cross of Christ.
Behold the Man... The Nazarene...
God's Lamb here sacrificed...

The pupil thought his painting done
When Sunday night came round,
He smiled as if a war was won,
As if a treasure found...
The master painter let him leave
So he could travel home
And yet Christ's painting made him grieve
The cruelty of Rome...

And in the night, he painted on,
Transforming here and there,
A stream of light to shine upon
The Saviour's bleeding hair...
With Pilate's words now coloured gold,
For all the world to see
The greatest story ever told...
Christ died for you and me...

When morning came, he painted still,
The gamblers at Christ's feet,
The thieves who died there on that hill,
The sort you'd hate to meet...
The scoffers in the crowd below
And Mary full of tears...
The crown of thorns, Christ's blood in flow,
While Satan stares and cheers...

Then something new the painter felt
That he should add that day...
A weeping angel humbly knelt
At Christ's feet there to pray...
He was Death's angel sent ahead
To see Christ crucified
And then to wait till Christ was dead
Before His blood had dried...

Then all was done... the painter wept...
The masterpiece complete...
He went to sleep and gently slept
And felt a peace so sweet...
That night, the pupil had returned,
He saw the work of art
And thus a new respect was earned
That stayed within his heart...

The exhibition hall was filled
The day it was on show
And everybody there was thrilled
With faces all aglow...
The Cross of Christ is famous now,
With posters sold worldwide,
For God was in that work somehow,
Just like when Jesus died...

Mary Queen Of Arkansas

Mary queen of arkansas, its not too early for dreamin
The sky is grown with cloud seed sown and a bastards love can be redeeming
Mary, my queen, your soft hulk is reviving
No, youre not too late to desecrate, the servants are just rising
Well Im just a lonely acrobat, the live wire is my trade
Ive been a shine boy for your acid brat and a wharf rat of your state
Mary, my queen, your blows for freedom are missing
Youre not man enough for me to hate or woman enough for kissing
The big top is for dreamers, we can take the circus all the way to the
Border
And the gallows wait for martyrs whose papers are in order
But I was not born to live to die and you were not born for queenin
Its not too late to infiltrate, the servants are just leavin
Mary queen of arkansas, your white skin is deceivin
You wake and wait to lie in bait and you almost got me believin
But on your bed mary I can see the shadow of a noose
I dont understand how you can hold ma so tight and love me so damn loose
But I know a place where we can go, mary
Where I can get a good job and start all over again clean
I got contacts deep in mexico where the servants have been seen
