Thrasher

They were hiding behind hay bales,
They were planting in the full moon
They had given all they had for something new
But the light of day was on them,
They could see the thrashers coming

And I was just getting up, hit the road before its light

When I saw those thrashers rolling by,

I searched out my companions,

And my suitcase in my hand
How I lost my friends I still dont understand.
They had the best selection,
They were poisoned with protection
There was nothing that they needed,

Or became park bench mutations
On the sidewalks and in the stations

So I got bored and left them there,
They were just deadweight to me

It was that great grand canyon rescue episode.

The Road

Sitting alone on my hotel
Looking in the mirror wondering, well,
After all this time you never thought youd still be out on the road?
Like a gypsy I was born to roam
Like a wanderer with no fixed abode
I think about the friends Ive left behind on the road
Well, the roads been rocky along the way
Its been a long, hard haul on the motorway
But if it gets too smooth its time to call it a day

The bed and breakfasts and the greasy spoons

The loser bars and the noisy rooms
(the road)
The casualties who did too many lines

Wasted talent on women and wine
I think of all the friends Ive left behind
Whenever its time to get back out on the road
Started playing blues in a coffee bar
I took a trip down charing cross road
With my imitation gretsch guitar
And my head full of songs and my eyes full of stars
I saw a band called the rolling stones
I thought, thats it, Ill get a band,
Im leaving home, Im out on the road.
The motorways all over this land

Lost track of time
Can´t figure out what u say

I always used to be afraid
That I was going to lose my way
I never used to walk in line but stray

Myth of Strangling Flotilla

let the sea find its horizon, with the dune touches to the
sand in the seashore of no where, nothing left but
a skeleton of vulture crib

hard to find a tree that nay touches its root to the ground
and as the birds fly in the running water of doubt, envy
and fallacy torch the day with a flame of the night

hand over the cards, nothing lost, something to pull, and
the weather seems sunny and cloudy though the dark covers
the day empty yet fulfilling the traveler vulture of the flesh
