Joey

Joey---, joey----
Joey, where are you going
Where will you sleep tonight
Will you be alright
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Joey, I really love you
Wont you make here your home so youll never live alone anymore, oh
We both took a ride on that merry-go-round
Weve seen a lot of faces of the same ole clowns
But lets not be a part of that continuous game
Lets start a new life that will never change
Joey, where are you going
Wont you take me along, your place is my home
Joey---, hoo, hoo
Theres no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
True fortunes are deeper than the world is old so
Weve got to dig up and plant love again
Just dont let it vanish, no
And you settle
My joey, where are you going, where are you going
Dont, dont, dont go, joey, joey, joey, joey
Dont you hear me calling, dont you hear me calling to you
Joey, joey, joey, joey, joey, joey, joey, joey, joey
Hoo, dont you hear me calling to you, joey, joey, joey
Dont leave me alone, I wanna be with you
I wanna go with you, I wanna be with you, joey, joey, joey

Joey
Joey will come to see your flowers
Joey will come to while away your hours
But she will tell you youre not so good for her
She wouldnt be there if it could be that you were.
Joey has loved but never shown her tears
So she may laugh in the autumn of your years
And when youre with her, youll wonder if its true
All they said of a world without you.
Where she may come from
Where she may go
Who she may run from
No one will know
Why she was late may trouble you some
Still you wait for joey to come.
Joey will come when once more it looks like snow
Joey will come when its really time to go
And you may smile when you find that youve been wrong
You thought youd found her but she knew you all along

Joey
Joey Keys was from my neighborhood
Some would say that he was bad and Joe thought that was good
Joey got the name "Keys" picking locks
He never really robbed no one; it sure amused the cops
Joey's parents owned a restaurant
After closing time they'd give us almost anything we'd want
I never cared that Joey Keys was slow
Though he couldn't read or write too well but we'd talk all night long.
Come on

Joe
(gamble / harris / felder)
(hey, does anybody know)
(how I can get in touch with joe? )
If I have to catch a subway
Or catch a plane on a runway
Ive got to find out some way
Where did he go?
Yesterday was bright and sunny
All his jokes were oh-so funny
Now hes gone and left me
Honey, where did you go?
Ive been searchin here and there
Lookin for you everywhere
cause your love I wanna share
Hey, does anybody know
How I can get in touch with joe?
I will try to wait forever
It could take till the twelfth of never
How I pray wed be together
Where did he go?
My heart was pure
How could you bruise it?
Gave him mine
He just used it
My mind was clear
And he confused it
Where did he go?
Ive been searchin here and there
Lookin for you everywhere
cause your love I wanna share
Hey does anybody know
How I can get in touch with joe? , ooh
Does anybody know
How I can get in touch with joe?
I can get in touch with joe? , ooh joey, joey
Somebody tell me
Where did he go? , joe
Come back baby, joe, oh, oh, joey, joey, joey

Dear Self
Life might be shitty now,
But it might get better.
Just think about the fun,
You had when you were little.
Think about Joey,
Speedy,
Emily,
Sassy,
Andy,
Your friends,
Who love you.
Think about Grandma,
And Grandpa.
About the time,
You lost your tooth,
When you bit into a rib.
When you and Joey,
Got stuck under the bed.
Or when you and Joey,
Wne t on an adventure,
To rescue a King,
From a dragon.
Or when you and Joey,
Went through a portal,
And fought,
Space monkeys.
Or when you nd Joey,
Watched Spongebob.
Or when Sassy,
Always watched Grandma,
When she would feed you.
Or when you rescued,
That kitten.
Or when you,
Healed that baby bird.
Or helped that dog,
Find his owner.
Just think of the,
Happy things in life.
From,
Past shitty life.

Bouncing Pony
Joey is an adventurous little boy
A bouncing pony is his birthday present
Grandpa Joe’s heart is filled with joy.
Let me help you into the saddle to enjoy
Youthful squeals eagerly express intent
Joey is an adventurous little boy
Into the stirrups Joey’s feet are employed
Energy is engaged one hundred percent
Grandpa Joe’s heart is filled with joy.
Reins are grasped by a miniature cowboy…
The eager steed bolts and away they went
Joey is an adventurous little boy.
The spirits of two generations join as one…
Their smiles and laughter are frequent
Grandpa Joe’s heart is filled with joy.
Motion slows as Joey dismounts and runs
Bouncing onto Grandpa’s lap and giving a hug
Joey is an adventurous little boy
Grandpa Joe’s heart is filled with joy.

Joey In Mind
When joey first came the light seemed to rise
Thought it came in the night and left with her eyes
And I wish that her face would return once again
Just one day to remind me of saturdays gain.
As I sit in her city in fog and in steam
Everythings blurred, for blurred is my dream
So Ill leave for my terrace and tea laced with rum
And wait for the day when joey will come.
And come all the dreams that never did try
To live on a memory or float on a sigh
Together well sit in the saturday rain
And dream of joey or mary jane.

Joey
My dear Joey,
I miss you more.
You've passed on,
And now you're gone.
I wish you were here,
In my arms.
I wish you were alive,
So we play outside.
I cry every night,
Wishing it was me instead.
But I have learned,
Wish don't come true,
For someone who you loved.
My dear Joey,
So sweet and playful.
My tears roll down my face,
Looking for my baby.
When my tears can't find you,
Down they go,
To be splashed on the ground or sheet,
Where you once laid.
My dear Joey,
My sweet little kat,
If you were here,
That would be the best.

Joey's Run In With the Hose
There once was this child,
His name was Joey.
Oh how he hated taking showers,
He was afraid of the shadows,
That the soap bubbles made.
Joey's hygiene was so pungent,
That his cat couldn't go near him without cringing.
His horrific smell got so disgusting,
That one of his classmates turned on the hose,
The next morning Joey finally realized,
That water and soap wasn't his foe.
When his mom cooked him dinner,
He found his true foe.
Beats, carrots, peas,
Oh my, now that's a different story

Joey
Born in red hook, brooklyn, in the year of who knows when
Opened up his eyes to the tune of an accordion
Always on the outside of whatever side there was
When they asked him why it had to be that way, well, he answered, just
Because.
Larry was the oldest, joey was next to last.
They called joe crazy, the baby they called kid blast.
Some say they lived off gambling and runnin numbers too.
It always seemed they got caught between the mob and the men in blue.
Joey, joey,
King of the streets, child of clay.
Joey, joey,
What made them want to come and blow you away?
There was talk they killed their rivals, but the truth was far from that
No one ever knew for sure where they were really at.
When they tried to strangle larry, joey almost hit the roof.
He went out that night to seek revenge, thinkin he was bulletproof.
The war broke out at the break of dawn, it emptied out the streets
Joey and his brothers suffered terrible defeats
Till they ventured out behind the lines and took five prisoners.
They stashed them away in a basement, called them amateurs.
The hostages were tremblin when they heard a man exclaim,
Lets blow this place to kingdom come, let con edison take the blame.
But joey stepped up, he raised his hand, said, were not those kind of men.
Its peace and quiet that we need to go back to work again.
Joey, joey,
King of the streets, child of clay.
Joey, joey,
What made them want to come and blow you away?
The police department hounded him, they called him mr. smith
They got him on conspiracy, they were never sure who with.
What time is it? said the judge to joey when they met
Five to ten, said joey. the judge says, thats exactly what you get.
He did ten years in attica, reading nietzsche and wilhelm reich
They threw him in the hole one time for tryin to stop a strike.
His closest friends were black men cause they seemed to understand
What its like to be in society with a shackle on your hand.
When they let him out in 71 hed lost a little weight
But he dressed like jimmy cagney and I swear he did look great.
He tried to find the way back into the life he left behind
To the boss he said, I have returned and now I want whats mine.
Joey, joey,
King of the streets, child of clay.
Joey, joey,
Why did they have to come and blow you away?
It was true that in his later years he would not carry a gun
Im around too many children, hed say, they should never know of one.
Yet he walked right into the clubhouse of his lifelong deadly foe,
Emptied out the register, said, tell em it was crazy joe.
One day they blew him down in a clam bar in new york
He could see it comin through the door as he lifted up his fork.
He pushed the table over to protect his family
Then he staggered out into the streets of little italy.
Joey, joey,
King of the streets, child of clay.
Joey, joey,
What made them want to come and blow you away?
Sister jacqueline and carmela and mother mary all did weep.
I heard his best friend frankie say, he aint dead, hes just asleep.
Then I saw the old mans limousine head back towards the grave
I guess he had to say one last goodbye to the son that he could not save.
The sun turned cold over president street and the town of brooklyn mourned
They said a mass in the old church near the house where he was born.
And someday if gods in heaven overlookin his preserve
I know the men that shot him down will get what they deserve.
Joey, joey,
King of the streets, child of clay.
Joey, joey,
What made them want to come and blow you away?

Just One Drink.
He knew that if he had
just the one drink
that he'd be back
on the wagon again
back to the shut up room
and dead head
and stinking bed
and the woman off again
and the door slamming
and her voice echoing
up the from the hall
as her footsteps faded
come on
the guys said
just the one shot
but no he had to stay strong
keep the booze away
from hand and lips
and hey Joey come on
just a drink with me huh?
one lousy drink with a pal
whose lady's left him
for some other guy
no
he said
I can't have one drink
I don't do one drinks
I got to stay strong
got to look at the big picture
so his friend said
shrew you Joey
I'll find others
who'll drink with me
and off he went
and Joey sipped his lemonade
and looked at the bottles
behind the bar
looking back him
saying silently
ha ha ha.

Bar Talk
You remember that dame
who didn't want to talk to
you and then later she did
by which time you had met
some other chick who really
turned you on? Joey said well
she's like that with most guys
she thinks it gives her a kind
of power you know the type
was probably kept under her
old man's thumb or maybe her
brothers kept her in her place
and she wants to break out or
in whatever the case may be
so I shouldn't take it to heart
Bud don't let it get to you
anyway if you see her again
give her the cold shoulder or
spin her some yarn that you
only go out with good looking
dames and Bud looked over at
Joey who was smoking a cigar
and holding a glass of beer and
said I know dames I was born
from one and I had four sisters
all of whom were nice chicks
and really made my youth one
hell of a heaven if that ain't a
contradiction so I don't need
no lessons on dames see I know
them and so Joey shrugged his
shoulders and sipped his beer
and drew heavy on his cigar
and said so be it next thing
you'll be telling me is you've
slept with your darn ma.

Joey
Joey Joey took a stone
And knocked
Down
The
Sun!
And Whoosh! It swizzled
Down so hard.
And bloomp! It bounced
In his backyard.
And glunk! It landed
On his toe!
And the world was dark,
And the corn wouldn’t grow!
And the wind wouldn’t blow!
And the *bleep* wouldn’t crow!
And it always was Night,
Night,
Night.
All because
Of a stone
And Joe.

Joey
I thought I would go daft when Joey died.
He was my first, and wise beyond his years.
For nigh a hundred nights I cried and cried,
Until my weary eyes burned up my tears.
Willie and Rosie tried to comfort me:
A woeful, weeping family were we.
I was a widow with no friends at all,
Ironing men's shirts to buy my kiddies grub;
And then one day a lawyer came to call,
Me with my arms deep in the washing-tub.
The gentleman who ran poor Joey down
Was willing to give us a thousand poun'.
What a godsend! It meant goodbye to care,
The fear of being dumped out on the street.
Rosie and Willie could have wool to wear,
And more than bread and margerine to eat . . .
To Joey's broken little legs we owe
Our rescue from a fate of want and woe.
How happily he hurried home to me,
Bringing a new-baked, crisp-brown loaf of bread.
The headlights of the car he did not see,
And when help came they thought that he was dead.
He stared with wonder from a face so wan . . .
A long, last look and he was gone,--was gone.
We've comfort now, and yet it hurts to know
We owe our joy to little, laughing Joe.

I'm Tired Joey Boy
I'm tired joey boy while you're out with the sheep
My life is so troubled i can't go to sleep
And i would walk myself out but the streets are so dark
I will wait 'til the morning and walk in the park
Yeah life is so simple when one isn't home
And i'm never complaining when there's work to be done
Oh i'm tired joey boy with the makings of men
I would like to be cheerful again
And ambition will take you and ride you too far
And conservatism will bring you to boredom once more
So go out by the river watch the stream flow
Recall all those dreams you once used to know
The ones you've forgotten that took you away
To pastures not greener but meaner
Yeah the love of the simple is all that i need
I have no time for schism or lovers of greed
Go up to the mountain go up to the glen
Where silence will touch you and heartbreak will mend

The Table of Hope
Inspired by JOEY VELASCO'S painting, HAPAG NG PAG-ASA
(The Table Of Hope)
Thank you, Lord for this wonderful show
Of happy faces, sincere and true
Without asking why who we are, what we wear
Without doubts, without fear, without a tear
Here we are in your table, your children in the street
Celebrating your birthday in the simplest way
In your table of hope, sharing your food
Where your presence is what we're after
Christmas miracle do happen,
Because you wanted it to be
You choose us, the weak, the poor and the lame
To share with you, to be with you
In the table of hope..in the table of hope..
Thank you, Jesus, for giving us hope
Thank you, Jesus, for Christmas
Note: thank you for reading. You can search

Wedding Band
Joey Wedding Band
JoAnn was the birth name of my wife
To me Joey was her name for a lot of our married life
One of the best things anyone could ask for in life
Is to have a good and loving wife
When it comes time for me to pass no matter day or night
I hope and pray that my wife will be my guiding light
I did not complement my wife as much as I could of
But with all my heart I gave her my love
My wife is in heaven watching over our family
Hoping we could be the best we could be
I am now living by myself and on my own
I have my dogs and my family but I feel alone
I never thought I knew how bad pain could ever be
Until my wife died and left me
At times my wife lets me know she is near
She turns off the picture frame to let me know she is here
On a chain around my neck I wear my wife’s wedding band
I also still wear mine on the finger of my left hand
To anyone who reads this poem do not let the time with your family go
Everything is gone before you know
