Writing Wrongs

Did you know the waters turning yellow?
Have you heard the sky was falling down?
Did you see that guy fall out the window?
Did you know the circus was in town?
Have you heard about bill chambers mother?
She said, a womans work is never done.
And, oh yes, about that yellow water,
Have you noticed the color of the sun?
You have a way of making everything you say seem unreal.
Are you aware that the people who care are mostly stainless steel?
[instrumental interlude]
Well, I hope you finally got my letter.
It should have come about this time last year.
And I hope bill chambers mothers better.
Oh, dear! the moons just disappeared.
You have a way of making everything you say seem unreal.
Are you aware that the people who care are mostly stainless steel?

Yellow Billed Spoonbill
By the lake shore in the shallows where the waters are still
He walks in water to his knees the white bird with yellow legs and long yellow spoon like bill
With his bill in the water as he walk moving from side to side
His prey water insects, crustaceans and tiny fish in the water weed hide.
He and his partner build their nest on a high branch of a tree
On her nest of sticks she lays four white eggs though sometimes two or three
They both take care of their young a bird devoted to fatherhood as well as to his mate
Food from their stomachs to their nestlings they do regurgitate.
On river rapids never seen the still waters they need
Birds of the inland lakes and dams in the shallows they feed
Of humans 'twould be fair to say they have a healthy fear
To a human standing on the shore they never venture near.
Yellow billed or yellow legged spoonbill are names they are known by
On the lake I see one yesterday he did seem rather shy
With his long yellow bill moving from side to side in the shallows he shuffled up and down
The shiest of the water birds in the big park by the Town.

Starting Again
Music: Barry Manilow
Lyrics: Marty Panzer
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And it started again And I meant every word
And I liked what I said
And I liked what I heard
And I started to think
I could think about starting again
We were laughing again
Over memories and wine
And the years in between
Didn't seem a long time
When I smiled she knew why
In a while it was starting again
And I started to think I could feel again
All the bad times seemed unreal
When I looked in her eyes
The cheating, the lies,
The things that were wrong seemed far behind
And I started to think I could care again
And my fears all disappeared
When she called me by name
I knew that she'd changed
The flaws were all gone
The Saint remained
But it started again when I asked her to stay
And she said, "There's this friend who's in town just today"
And she really felt bad, but she had to be leaving again
And she left me again as she'd left me before
Still pretending she cared when we kissed at the door
But I saw in her eyes that the lies were all starting again
Just when I started to feel again
When all the bad times seemed unreal
When it all seemed so right and I thought that tonight
If she said she cared, she really might
Just when my fears disappeared again
And I heard what I wanted to hear
It all started again
And I knew what that meant
It wasn't the start
It was really the end

A Four-letter Word
His name is Gus
and boy can he cuss.
He knows every four-letter word.
When he gets mad
just like his dad
profanities are all he ever heard.
His voice gets real loud
in the midst of a crowd
and each time it occurred
People would stare
and he didn't even care.
His sensitivity is not even stirred.
Until one day
he hears his son say
four-letter words he has heard.
It shocks him yo hear
these words very clear
from a 4-year old which is absurd.
And so on this day
he vows never to say
another four-letter word.

Spaced
Spaced in time, child of mine
Doin twenty years on the way
Fire and steel, earth unreal
Find another planet to stay
Papa died, ma survived
Tellin me about her ordeal
And the soul she could not feel
cause they made her so unreal
Lightnin years disappearsne
Twenty million years on my brain
Synthesize, overrides
Tryin to keep from goin insane
And my soul I can not feel
cause they made me so unreal
Spaced enough to know I feel theres nothing out there
Spaced enough to know I feel I really dont care
Spaced enough to feel Im really losin my mind
And Im never ever goin back
I lost the track
No one even knows Im alive
Spaced without a trace
Waitin for the word to arrive
Im the last man to survive

We've had Town Hall meetings, we've witnessed election after election, in which the American people have taken a position on the President's health care bill. And the bottom line is the people don't like this bill. They don't want it.

Whatever It Takes!
fuel prices keep rising,
and it trickles down.
grocery prices skyrocket,
people walking behind empty buggies.
small businesses shutting down,
people left without work.
either the rent, the light bill,
or a little something to eat,
you've gotta choose.
over half the people in this country
on the edge of going under.
and it's as bad or worse
around the world.
where does it stop?
where does it end?
the elite continue making money
on the backs of the poor.
starting wars, drilling for oil,
making closed door deals.
and the anger rises, simmers,
and threatens to boil.
the only hope for the future
is an equal distribution of goods,
a system where everybody
that will work has a chance.
now the question is
what does it take
for that to happen.
do we have to burn Rome down again?
whatever it takes...
now is the time!

Help me reach my mother, sweet earth
I was a bright shining
Green leaf
Attached to the tall tree
Standing by the side of a busy road
I know no one would have noticed me
As each one has an important reason
For ignoring my presence
But, now I am a
Brown dry leaf
Lying on the pavement
And over me a number of people
Pass and again none took a note of me
Each moving vehicle, big or small
Flushes over me
A harsh wind
That keeps me airborne
For a short while and
I am getting displaced frequently
Making me feel
I am unwanted and I have no place
Of my own on this great earth
I was quite busy when I was attached to the tree
If you look at me
You can see prominent veins
Which kept supplying water to
Each cell of mine
And my cells in turn
Were very active
Producing carbohydrates
From the trapped carbon dioxide
Making use of the sunlight
With the help of the green chlorophyll
Compacted in them
Very importantly
Breathing out oxygen as a bye-product
For the benefit of human beings
I dance with the wind
However, mild or wild it may be
And never had I thought I am going to be
Separated from my tall tree
I came out of fresh branch
Tender, soft and silky
Nutrients flowed in me
And I reached my full growth
In a fortnight’s time
I was proud as I was almost
On the top
Receiving full sunlight
Cool breeze keeping me comfortable
I kept doing my job
And I thought I would continue this
Through my entire life time
After three months
Supply of nutrients dwindled
Water availability reduced
I started turning yellow
The twig holding me on to the branch weakened
And a strong wind made
The unkindest cut
And fell from the tree
Floating in air for sometime
And being carried away from my mother tree
I looked at her from a distance
I heard her yelling
“Sorry my child
Your time has come
And one day I too will fall
Do not worry
Mother earth will take care”
Since then I am in search
Of my new mother
All these days I am either on
A cement-slab paved pathway
On a tar-topped road
Where is my mother earth
With her sweet soil
That will silently devour my nutrients
For recycling them to
Standing vegetation
And help me have a
Peaceful, but beneficial death
Dear any one
Who knows and appreciates my plight
Help me reach
My mother, sweet earth

Funny Conversations
Sitting in Barnes and Noble I overhear,
“That’s nothing my dear,
My mother, father and sister died in the same year.
and I never really tell anyone this,
so don’t look like such a mess.”
Now, this sounds like a tragedy,
I laughed to myself is more like a comedy.
It was like an over exaggeration,
why would a lady say it so loud,
for this kind of situation.
Sitting in McDonalds I over hear an idiom,
“He doesn’t have a pot to piss in,
or a window to throw it out of”
I laughed to myself for I never heard the last phrase,
It was so funny it made my day.
Now you can hear funny conversations everywhere,
if you care to listen and be aware…
of the funny things that people do say,
their conversations might brighten your day.

Man Of Steel
Woman (Spoken):
Touch me
I'm so afraid to draw you close
Hold me
Before my hands fall away
I'll suffocate
If I can't breathe you in
And hold you there
Forever
Meatloaf:
I left a message at the hotel
They said you checked out
They said you ain't coming back
I tried to call you
But you turned off your cell
And it said at the tone
Just leave me alone
And I fall apart at the seams
It seems that I always, always fall apart
But as strong as I am
Why can't I break you heart?
I remember how it used to be
Making love to you all night long
I used to take you in my arms
And hold you there until all my strength was gone
I used to be a man of steel
I used to be a man of steel
I built this prison that I thought was a home
And we both lived here
Guess you were living alone
I'd tear it down if you would only have asked
And I would build you a bridge
So you could come back
And I fall apart at the seams
It seems that I always, always fall apart
But as strong as I am
Why can't I break you heart?
I remember how it used to be
Making love to you all night long
I used to take you in my arms
And hold you there until all you fears were gone
I used to be a man of steel
I used to be a man of steel
I used to be a man of steel
I used to be a man of steel
I used to take you in my arms
Girl:
Hey, now tell me why can't you just
Break my heart?
Meatloaf:
I used to be a man of steel
And I used to take you in my arms
Girl:
I love you right from the start
Now you can't tear my world apart
Meatloaf:
I used to be a man of steel
Now every bit of faith is gone
Girl:
You used to be so strong
Now you can't even break my heart
Meatloaf:
I used to be a man of steel
I used to take you in my arms
What's it going to take for us to break down?
And finally fall
Girl: Fall
Meatloaf & Girl:
Apart at the seams
It seems that I always fall apart
Girl: As strong as you are
Meatloaf: As strong as I am...
Girl: Why can't you break my...
Meatloaf & Girl: Heart

Takin' Care Of Business
You get up every morning
From your alarm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be...
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out
--- Instrumental ---
If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows
People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And we be...
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime
--- Instrumental ---
And we be...
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime
--- Instrumentall to fade ---

Hope At It's Strongest
Hope is the thing that keeps us going
Hope is a poem without any words
Hope is what follows us everyday
Hope is the light that sparks our eyes
Hope that it will all get better
Hope that you will find love
Hope that people will be kind
Hope that you will stay alive
Hope is the strongest thing of all
Hope will allow us not to fall
Hope will rise against anything
Hope is like a fiery ring
Hope never stops
Hope is always there
Without it we would be lost
Without out it we would not care

Skeletons
Between yellow cranes groaning and bended
I saw people small as ants,
I saw people gather at skeletons of steel and concrete,
lost between ovens that cook glowing,
between hell-hot fires of iron and metal
I saw people struggle in the dusk
and this morning I came
past huge, long pipes that hiss like snakes
between yellow cranes groaning and bended.
Where white smoke are stoked through round chimneys
people were trapped and caged
between hell-hot fires of iron and metal
busy with their work as if dumb,
as if only machines with their humanity missing
I saw people gather at skeletons of steel and concrete,
through walls, doors and roofs that block off
lost in the circles that the city draws,
people were trapped and caged
with crying, screaming, gnashing machines everywhere
without any natural refreshment or relief
between yellow cranes groaning and bended
with tiredness, disconcert, alienation on every feature
they kept building
lost in the circles that the city draws.
Like beings coming from another planet,
ghosts just waiting for a coffin,
I saw people gather at skeletons of steel and concrete,
while some were clinging to black pipes
and children were laughing without concern
they kept building
on terrains with danger signs on the outside
without worrying, with there destiny determined.
Between yellow cranes groaning and bended
I saw people gather at skeletons of steel and concrete,
with their lives tinned, day and night
lost between ovens that cook glowing
and children were laughing without concern,
I saw people struggle in the dusk.

Rainbow
I live at one of those Grey Clouds
Not really know that I am lifeless
I heard people talking about rainbow,
They’d met each other, always in a happy occasion
I wish I met the rainbow myself
Then perhaps I would know,
What the people say is not true
That there is no thing such rainbow,
That could make people’s eyes glittering
In Blue color of the sky
In Green color of the valley
In Red color of the blood
In Yellow color of the sun
I am belongs to the Grey Clouds
I Love Grey, as it is all the color I have in life
Then one day, at the ticking time of my ordinary Grey-day
I see something really bright,
With the scent of a precious flower I’d lost in the mist
For a moment I’m overwhelmed
Then I took a step further…
Away from something so beautiful, that wasn’t Grey
But the figure reveal and I stranded there
I Never learn that there are many color one’s could posses
Day goes by,
The Grey Cloud is the latest place I’d like to be
It was the rainbow…
Holding me and warm me
With a lot of bunch of dream in my empty mind
Dream I never knew
Dream I never dare to explore
The forbidden dream for my Grey outfit
I’m content with joys,
The first time I ever feel grand to face my life
My heart reflecting the color of rainbow
Blue for the peace soul
Green for the new beginning
Red for the faith
Yellow for a bright hope
Not very long
The thunder strikes,
The lightning burned my rainbow
All was Grey again
The rainbow gone away
Prefer to have a quite-smooth journey with all its color
While the thunder sent me here
Back to the Grey Clouds

Her straight face
I saw she's carrying a stainless steel cage
But none inside.
Oh! This homeless bird seeks a roost
Along this mysterious journey.
She's at the pedestrian crossing
With a white cane
And my white hope smudged instantly.
(As I know she never sees me the entire travel.)

Realization
You heard me screaming-
I could not hear
Your silent tears, and
You read my despair and
Hopelessness in the
Avid darkness
As you glanced, though
Cryptically into
My ebony eyes –
A soul wracked with pain, and
A heart sinking with
Concern and the
Love I could never see until
A few days before you passed-
It was only when you were dying that
I became aware of your profound love for me-
Trees stark against a lead hued sky, and
A mixture of sleet, snow and rain
Would fall from the dark and ominous clouds.
Fog descended over the
Buildings that surrounded ours- while
Cars skated down and up the
Highway outside-
People ambled aimlessly
Along the damp and filthy city sidewalks,
While days just passed slowly and quickly
Simultaneously-
As in a slow motion picture
You would exit the bathroom,
Towels hung in disarray on the towel bars and
Sheets on the bed lay rumpled,
Where none but a shadow of where you had slept remained-
Though only a few hours,
Interrupted by the pain, anguish and desolation
That was so obviously eminent behind
Your pallid face, from which
All expression and life had been erased –
Today I am still screaming though the sounds have been muted by
My efforts to conceal the
War that still wages inside my befuddled mind-
I once believed that you were my enemy and my
Reluctant caretaker until I read the letter
Inscribed on that scrap torn from that yellow legal pad-
Your pen spoke honestly and frankly of
Your love and devotion to me,
That I did not see- until that final moment when
The snow began to fall hard and the wind
Would rattle the storm windows,
That had never been cleaned-
Looking outside those windows now
I can still see the cars racing up and down the street,
People walking in a stupor
Perhaps wishing the winter would end-
And this is a winter that I would never forget-
Only because I finally realized that
You were the only mother I ever had and that
I was your one and only child-
You gave birth to me and
Gave me a beautiful name-
At this very moment
I love you as much as I have finally realized that
I was none but precious to you- although
Our lives together had been a nightmare.
Sleet, snow and freezing rain
Are rudely hitting the windowpanes and
I remember that day I lost my sanity,
It was also on a cold January day-
Hope was blinded by a snowstorm and
Tears were falling like sleet would
Hard upon the pavement-
I look up into the steel-hued sky and
Whisper none but a prayer and
Three words “I love you, ” and to myself,
“Can you hear me? ” and
I know the answer inside my breaking heart, as I
Walk away while
Darkness descends over the city on this bleak and dreary winter’s night…

My Rose...
gift you a rose, ,
gift you my rose....
but my rose to you, is not like any rose in this world...
a rose drunk from my tears...
a rose that i take care about it by my soul...
a rose gave it a water by my blood...
and perfumed it by my love....
my rose to you, is not like an roses...
its color not like any colors...
its not a red...
and its not a white...
even not a yellow...
its color pick up from the suns` yellow color..
and mix from the seas` blue color...
and from my bloods` drops..
and from my tears...
so.. its color was mixed with my sadness and my love...
my rose to you, is not like any roses...
its perfume is not like any perfume..
its a mix between a loves` nectar...
and many of kindness, and honesty love...
my rose to you, is not like any roses...
raised inside my heart...
and takes a warm light, from my eyes` light...
and its food, from the hope, that we always wish...
and from our future, which will gather us to each others one day...
so please accept and take my rose...

Middle Class Chagrin
I sigh as I wonder why things are as they are.
Our leaders' vague ideas spring from afar.
I listen to them and they seem not to care
About people like me and things that are fair.
They have wealth and yearn for more power
While I labor all day and hope to enjoy an hour.
I try to be happy although each day I find
That in spite of my intentions I'm falling behind.
As I fall farther behind it is destroying my pride.
I believe more than ever no one is at my side.
What hope is there if these leaders don't care
That people like me have less America to share?

Tired Of Me
You say hold on to the reigns
I say let them go tonight
My brain waves
Confused between what is and aint
She cries groundless and free
.
Tired of the water
Tired of the wine
Tired of the future
Tired of time
Tired of the madness
Tired of the steel
Tired of the violence
Tired of me
.
Used steel
Used steel am i
What was pliable in love
Is now hard and crystallized
The intellect is fine
For counting money
And recalling times
That she cried,
Groundless and free
.
Hope is a letter that never arrives
Delivered by the postman of my fear

Life’s Unfair
Life’s Unfair
A husband and wife grow old together
You think and hope it will last forever
When you hear of children getting hurt
You hope it’s only a little fall in the dirt
So many accidents happen because of a drunk driver
Why is the drunk the only survivor
Parents hurt the children they love
Men hurt the women they should love
Some rich and famous do wrong and get a pass
Up and up goes the price for gas
The elderly get mugged and beat
Some people are hurt and left lying in the street
Women and children are molested
Children that are not protected
Men that are considered a deadbeat
People that are forced to live on the street
Children that are terribly ill
Parents can’t pay the bill
So much more of life is unfair
Lots of people that don’t care

Fistfull Of Steel
Huh!
Check it...uggh!
Silence
Something about silence makes me sick
'Cause silence can be violent
Sorta like a slit wrist
If the vibe was suicide
Then you would push da button
But if ya bowin' down
Then let me do the cuttin'
Some speak the sounds
But speak in silent voices
Like radio is silent
Though it fills the air with noises
Its transmissions bring submission
As ya mold to the unreal
And mad boy grips the microphone
Wit' a fistful of steel
Yeah...and mad mad boy grips the microphone
Wit' a fistful of steel
Wit' a fistful of steel
('Cause I know the power of the question)
Wit' a fistful of steel
Wit' a fistful of steel
(And I won't stop 'cause I know the power of the question)
It's time to flow like the fluid in ya veins
If ya will it
