The dragon

Far to much suffering did I see
and scared people flee
to get away from the terror
and to be free from the tyranny
that war brought on.

It feels as from eternity
my soul was strong full of energy
but now after the war
the demons remain
and leaves greater pain
than scars made by weapons.

But still who really knows
and understand man,
are awed by the mysteries
of life and death,
knows the nature of humanity
and what it really means to be free?

Some say that freedom
is eternal vigilance,
others that it’s a belief
or the right of action
without restraint,
others that knowledge
brings it on,
but I know that its price is high
and paid in blood
in battles fought
and that war leaves a mark
and in my soul,
the dragon devours me.

Universal Freedom Is......

Freedom from hunger and freedom from pain
freedom from loss and so freedom from gain.
Freedom to give and freedom to share
freedom from want and that of despair.

Freedom to think and freedom to know
freedom to achieve and freedom to grow.
Freedom from bondage and freedom of liberation
freedom from ignorance and any unknown situation.

Freedom to come and freedom to leave
freedom to stay and freedom to conceive.
Freedom from struggle and freedom of ease
freedom to enjoy and the capacity to please.

Freedom from failure and freedom of success
freedom from denial and freedom of access.
Freedom from illusion and freedom of reality
freedom to become what we are in actuality.

Freedom to live and freedom to die
freedom to laugh and freedom to cry.
Freedom to speak and freedom to listen
freedom to act based on a wise decision.

Freedom from hate and freedom of love
freedom of below and freedom of above.
Freedom of the past and freedom of the present
freedom of the future and what it can represent.

Freedom from war and freedom of peace
freedom to begin and freedom to cease.
Freedom from sickness and freedom of health
freedom from poverty and mishandled wealth.

Freedom from wrong and freedom being right
freedom of the day and freedom of the night.
Freedom to choose and freedom to reject
freedom to imagine what there is to expect.

Freedom from lust and freedom from greed
freedom from anger and freedom from breed.
Freedom from jealousy and freedom from pride
freedom from within and freedom from outside.
Freedom of always not having anything to hide.

Freedom from space and also freedom from time
freedom from attachment and freedom from crime
Freedom to work and freedom to play
freedom to believe and freedom to pray.
Freedom to experience a rebirth someday.

Freedom from the body and freedom from the mind
freedom from the ego and freedom from being blind.
Freedom of transcendence being of the spiritual kind.

Universal freedom is eternal and infinite bliss
we should all therefore be able to realise this.

What Price

What price peace n' freedom?
How much will we endure?
To keep from losing forever
what others suffered for.

Ask first the loved ones
of warriors who went away.
The price they paid as well.
Fearing death's visit day by day.

Consider then those brave ones.
Who without question stepped forward.
Defied and defeated evil's challenge.
Peace n' freedom their only reward.

What price peace n' freedom?
Does the yield equal the demand?
Are we willing to pay the fare.
To keep oppression from our land?

Let us remember well
when these ideals we abuse.
If we are not prepared to pay.
These treasures we shall lose.

The Scars And Stripes

The stars and stripes
Reflect my freedom
In this land
I live each day

But the scars and stripes
Have bought my freedom
Christ's death
The only way

As people live and die
For freedom
In the USA
And lands so far away

But for me
Eternal freedom
Is a price
Only One could pay

To the stars and stripes
I pledge allegianceI
n the land
That I reside

But I owe my all
to the scars and stripes
For one day
In heaven I'll reside

The Charter of the United Nations expresses the noblest aspirations of man: abjugation of force in the settlement of disputes between states; the assurance of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion; the safeguarding of international peace and security. But these, too, as were the phrases of the Covenant, are only words; their value depends wholly on our will to observe and honour them and give them content and meaning. The preservation of peace and the guaranteeing of man's basic freedoms and rights require courage and eternal vigilance: courage to speak and act — and if necessary, to suffer and die — for truth and justice; eternal vigilance, that the least transgression of international morality shall not go undetected and unremedied. These lessons must be learned anew by each succeeding generation, and that generation is fortunate indeed which learns from other than its own bitter experience.

He Walked Away

I have great wealth Lord, What must I do?
I want eternal life so I have come to You
All the commandments I've obeyed and kept
What else must I do eternal life to get?

'Go sell your possessions and give to the poor'
'Then follow Me and I will tell you more'
Hearing this the man turned and walked away
For him the price was too much to pay!

...............

Lord Jesus, may I not walk away
thinking that it is too much to pay.
For the price was paid by You my Lord
so please help me to trust in Your Word
to come to You and in repentance bow.
Then I shall have eternal life now.

If This Is What Freedom Is About

If this is what freedom is about who would wish to be free
When only of war dead we read and hear about and pictures of death we see
Mothers grieving for their dead children in Iraq their heartbreak with them will stay
Until the Reaper claim them though for them 'twill be a happy day.

Is this what freedom is about when some talk of liberty
For the suffering of others they cannot show empathy
They say to rid you of your tyrant some of your children had to die
But that's the price you pay for democracy so your freedom now enjoy.

If this is what freedom is about then tyranny sounds sweet
A young woman murdered by a suicide bomber bits of her scattered around the Street
For how many years must this go on how many more must die in this way
If this is what freedom is about the price is too much too pay.

Is this what freedom is about a young man without feet
And some even say he is lucky that the Reaper he did cheat
The victim of a roadside bomb now in his mother's care
Do not talk of freedom to the one who sits in his wheelchair.

Love Is The Price

RAP 1:
BABY'S IN THE PARLOUR
WAITING FOR THE RAIN
BEATING LIKE A HAMMER
WASHING OUT HER PAIN
CLEARING LIKE THE ONE
SEVEN YEARS AGO
WHEN HER FIRST BIG LOVE
MELTED LIKE SNOW
BACK THEN SHE DOUBET
IF SHE WOULD EVER FIND A MAN
WHO COULD LOVE HER THAT WAY
THE SAME WAY AGAIN
AND JUST WHEN SHE THOUGHT
SHE'S LIVING IN VAIN
THE MAN OF HER DREAMS
CAME LIKE THE RAIN
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRICE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 2:
THEY SPOKE ABOUT HER DREAMS
THEY SPOKE ABOUT LOVE
THEY SPOKE ABOUT THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
HE HAD THE KEY-WORD
FOR EVERYTHING SHE FELT
SO IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG
TILL HE GOT HER NAILED
PIN ONE'S HOPE ON SOMEONE ELSES LIFE
AND ALL YOUR DREAMS
WILL HURT YOU LIKE A KNIFE
SHE SOON GOT LOST
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRIZE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 3:
SHE DIDN'T TRUST THAT VERY FIRST MAN
TO COME INTO HER LIFE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
WHAT NOBODY EVER COULD BEFORE
HE ONLY MADE HER SEE
THERE IS SOMETHING MORE
TO LEARN ABOUT FREEDOM
TO LEARN ABOUT LOVE
TO HANDLE ALL THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
TO ALWAYS FOLLOW WHAT SHE REALLY FELT INSIDE
EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE

War + Lives - add Love = Freedom

A nation born from war, for the “purpose” of establishing freedom
A nation divided in war, in an “attempt” to fulfill the goal of freedom
A nation engaged in world wars, in the task of “preserving” freedom
A nation policing the world, in the “pursuit” of freedom

So many young lives have been lost, for the “cause” of freedom
Let us remember those who paid the “ultimate price, ” for freedom
And dear God, please tell us! - “What! ” - is freedom?
“Life is to be lived, not controlled, and humanity is won by continuing
To play in face of certain defeat.” Ralph Ellison

'We need not war'

We need not war, to show us how freedom is made
What we need is love to show us how freedom is played.
For freedom is not - but to “do as we please”
But rather to “please others” - because of what we achieve
“To serve requires love, only with love to we attain freedom”

Bright Sunny Day

If you wake up in the morning light
Something doesn't seem
or know is right
Lay back and let your feeling show
Come on and let the people know
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Just ?? money
Your baby ??
??
Now come on boys,??
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Bad news is just an excuse
Get down and
let yourself keep loose
Go on and live for tomorrow
So much spent today in sorrow
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.

Freedom

Freedom is not free
you need to pay the price for freedom
and that is to abide the law.

If the law is not giving you freedom
then work
...to change the law.
