Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.

Chasing Pessimists Away
Pessimists would say that optimism is a gag,
But...
Being optimistic is a good thing to have.
Those who look for troubles got them carried in a bag,
'Cause...
They would rather carry all their troubles that they've had.
Carrying their troubles seeking more of them to nab.
Pessimists would say that optimism is a gag,
But...
Being optimistic is a good thing to have.
Being optimistic is a feeling that could last.
Those who look for troubles got them carried in a bag,
'Cause...
They would rather carry all their troubles that they've had.
And carrying their troubles seeking more of them to nab.
Pessimists would say that optimism is a gag,
But...
Being optimistic is a good thing to have.
Being optimistic is a feeling that could last.
And being optimistic makes those pessimists mad.
And chasing pessimists away should make somebody glad.
Pessimists would say that optimism is a gag,
But...
Being optimistic is a good thing to have.
And being optimistic is much better than the bad.
Being optimistic makes a better day had.
Being optimistic makes a better day had.

Making sense
No sense in it if you act non-sense
People may push you away with sense
You may think why people are utterly non-sense?
When you are perfectly ok and act wit sense
You may fail in your love attempts
Some thing may force you or to act prompt
Still you act with sense and avoid
You may face difficulties which are self maid
You may act wise with change of scene
Gentleman like approach when publicly seen
Is it not the humanly act minus sin?
When one tries to project what he has been?
What comes to your help or rescue?
You may be wondering without any clue
You may blink and face may turn blue
When projection makes no sense for you
Sense is third eye for human being
Timely act may make him king
Opponent may face defeat in the ring
You may survive……………..
What, if nothing suggests or paves the way?
Your voice may not be heard or have the say
You may stick to position and bat for long
Still it makes sense that you are not always wrong
You will know what lies ahead?
Common sense may stop you to be mislead
So even if you are worried or so tense
You may act wise and come out with sense

It makes sense
When controversy surrounds
and things blow out of proportion
remember,
that tranquility still makes sense
When tension surrounds
and mind gets exhausted
remember,
that patience still makes sense
When mystery surrounds
and logic takes a backseat
remember,
that reality still makes sense
When laughter surrounds
and the vox gets too loud
remember,
that silence still makes sense
When darkness surrounds
and the heart gets out of rhythm
remember,
that hope still makes sense

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Faith is an axiom
Faith is an axiom which is beyond proof.
Faith is a self-evident fact, a conviction, a belief which exists without a reason.
You put it to test, you fail. You cannot show the faith but you can certainly have one.
Hence, it is said to always “have faith” or to “keep faith”.
The more faith you have, the more hopes grow. The more hopes grow, the more optimism flows. The more optimism flows, the more confidence grows........so.....
Have faith in goodness and the good will soon follow.
Have faith in abundance and the riches will soon follow.

Hope
Written by gerry beckley, 1994
Found on hourglass.
Theres a clock timing the world as it turns
Theres a man marking the candle as it burns
Keeping track of every minute that remains
Still we hope somehow
Its gonna be alright
Its gonna turn out fine
Theres a light shining beyond the southern cross
Burning bright for everyone of us whos lost
More than faith more than a reason to go on
Rise on up knowing
Youre gonna win the fight
Its gonna turn out fine
You gotta hope itll be alright
Come on and hope itll turn out fine
Yeah, hope itll be alright, please
When the night turns to the deepest shade of black
At that point there is no reason to turn back
High above angels are falling from the sky
Lift your heart knowing
Its gonna be alright
Its gonna turn out fine
You gotta hope itll be alright
Come on and hope itll turn out fine
Yeah, hope itll be alright, please
You gotta hope, ya gonna win the fight
Come on n hope with all your might
Yeah hope its gonna be alright, please
Millions of people alone in the dark
Awaiting a moment of hope
Please
You gotta hope (whenever times get tough) itll be alright
Come on and hope (and when the road is rough) itll turn out fine
Yeah, hope (just when youve had enough) itll be alright, please
You gotta hope (whenever times get tough) youre gonna win the fight
Come on and hope (and when the road is rough) with all your might
Yeah, hope (just when youve had enough) its gonna be alright, please
You gotta hope (whenever times get tough) itll be alright
Come on and hope (and when the road is rough) itll turn out fine
Yeah, hope (just when youve had enough) itll be alright, please
You gotta hope, youre gonna win the fight

Hope Through Faith
A faith in God is bigger than, the understanding of common man,
It’s a Hope that many don’t see, on this temporal side of Eternity.
The Christian’s hope, continues on, when all earthly hope is gone,
A hope beyond this present earth, hope in God, of Eternal Worth.
Our hope is more of a certainty, of the things that we do not see,
An eternal kingdom soon to come, ushered in by God’s own Son.
This certainty is the basis for, our inner peace and so much more,
A hope centered on Jesus Christ, this as we live out our daily life.
We’re given a sense of security, in an earthly Kingdom, yet to be,
And who do we receive this from, The Eternal Ruler sure to come,
Soon to return, in all His Majesty, to rule upon earth, into Eternity,
To reign over all, not just some, while on His Throne in Jerusalem.
It’s not just knowing God above, but accepting the Savior’s Love,
Who became a curse upon a tree, so all who believe live eternally,
To grant real Hope, to everyone, who believes in God’s Only Son,
Who became for all a Sacrifice, so that man could enter Paradise.
With present life, temporal friend, our worldly cares soon will end,
When we hear the Trumpet sound, we’ll be lifted from this ground,
To meet Christ, up in the clouds, gathered round His Holy crowds,
As present hope becomes reality, not just for now but for eternity.

Catatonic Optimist
Candy with breakfast makes everything brighter
Turns my feelings hygenic, and make orange juice lighter
Junk mail and traffic are no longer my hassles
When I take from a vial that makes me see castles
Catatonic Optimism
It hits faster then a missle
Heading out towards havanah
Where mushrooms form inside nirvana
Neighbors bad dealings, and boses cold grins
Disregard all the tension from a neutralizing syringe
I used sigh heavey and lay under green blankets
But now its treacle, and with hookah I can slack it
Catatonic Optimism
You'll collide with cartoon vission
Taking rides inside bubble's
Flying lightyears from any trouble
The sound of muzak, floats in the palace
Of cubicle dungeons, with no insulin
Secrateries gossip, with acrylic talongs
Though I swim the breeze on the wings of a dragon.

Sweet Thing
Its safe in the city, to love in a doorway
To wrangle some screens from the door
And isnt it me, putting pain in a stranger?
Like a portrait in flesh, who trails on a leash
Will you see that Im scared and Im lonely?
So Ill break up my room, and yawn and i
Run to the centre of things
Where the knowing one says
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing, sweet thing
If you want it, boys, get it here, thing
cause hope, boys, is a cheap thing, cheap thing
Im glad that youre older than me
Makes me feel important and free
Does that make you smile, isnt that me?
Im in your way, and Ill steal every moment
If his trade is a curse, then Ill bless you
And turn to the crossroads, and hamburgers, and
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing
Boys, boys, its a sweet thing, sweet thing
If you want it, boys, get it here, thing
cause hope, boys, is a cheap thing, cheap thing

Don't be too harsh to these poems until they're typed. I always think typescript lends some sort of certainty: at least, if the things are bad then, they appear to be bad with conviction.

Man is half blind.
Hope is not a certainty;
Guess is not a certainty.
So are perception and prediction.
Intuition is an illusion.
Yet they are the only aids
With which man walks, half blind.

In Love with Me
I hope you fall outta love with me
I hope you forget all about me
I hope you're not hurting inside
I hope everything turns out right
And I wish you the best of luck
I hope that this all works out for you
I hope that I will too
Cuz you know I've
Fallen out of love with you
Been some hard times
Some unfair crimes
Just want to forget and go
So I want you to know
That it doesn't matter to me
Whether you go or leave
So please
Hear me
I hope you fall outta love with me
I hope you forget all about me
I hope you're not hurting inside
I hope everything turns out right
And I wish you the best of luck
I hope that this all works out for you
I hope that I will too
Cuz you know I've
Fallen out of love with you
But I've been hurt before
And you just added more
I try to be alright
Try not to start a fight
Sometimes it hurts inside
Makes me wanna cry
So in the end I guess I want you to
Fall back in love with me
Remember all about me
And keep holding on
Just keep that bond
Love me and cry
Like you were going to die
So I hope you
Fall back in love with me

A New Hope
Just another day has begun,
For billions of souls
And the unachieved Goals
Hope is like a dream
Can make you achieve extreme
Hope gives you the strength
And reminds you that events will turn out for the best
Hope makes you believe
In all the things that you can achieve
Hope encourages you to be creative
It broadens our perspective
Hope is like a light
It takes away all the fright
Hope removes the blinders of fear and despair
All the things that can be unfair
Hope makes you see the big picture
And will always be your well wisher
Hope is essential
And it will end your entire struggle
Hope is a voice inside
And it gives you a sigh
Hope is for everyone
For you, for me and for the entire universe
Like the little engine that keep saying
'I think I can, I think I can'
Achieve more than you can plan
So let's hope for the best
And destiny will take care of the rest

Tell Me That Hope Called
Tell Me That Hope Called
by Alex Lewis
Tell me that Hope called.
Let me know that He rang.
If He didn't, I'd be quite appalled.
I might cry like a swallow sang.
I need a glimpse of peace.
I need a glimpse of light.
Can't you see this is my caprice?
Hope called! (I hope I'm right)
I'm desperate for Hope!
I think I need Him now.
Don't tell me 'no! ' Don't tell me 'nope! '
Tell me 'yes! ' or I'll turn foul!
For if He didn't call,
I might loose this day.
Hope makes me short. Hope makes me tall.
Without hope, before defeat I'll lay

Conundrums
Tell me a word
that you've often heard,
yet it makes you squint
when you see it in print!
Tell me a thing
that you've often seen
yet if put in a book
it makes you turn green!
Tell me a thing
that you often do,
when described in a story
shocks you through and through!
Tell me what's wrong
with words or with you
that you don't mind the thing
yet the name is taboo.

Hope At It's Strongest
Hope is the thing that keeps us going
Hope is a poem without any words
Hope is what follows us everyday
Hope is the light that sparks our eyes
Hope that it will all get better
Hope that you will find love
Hope that people will be kind
Hope that you will stay alive
Hope is the strongest thing of all
Hope will allow us not to fall
Hope will rise against anything
Hope is like a fiery ring
Hope never stops
Hope is always there
Without it we would be lost
Without out it we would not care

Graded On A Curve
It's a waste of time
It's a race that can't be won
Call the whole thing off
Well that's easier said than done
And I try to shut it out
And I think I've figured out
That it makes no sense to compare what I've done
So what do I do now that I'm alone?
I've been building up and tearing down
and looking for what never can be found
So what do I do now that I'm alone?
God I tried so hard to get here
but still I'm averaged out
Graded on a curve
Put the blinders on and believe in someone else
You're not what they want that's exactly what they sell
And it's all been preordained but it's never quite the same
Once you've figured out that it makes no sense
And I don't care if I'm the one who makes mistakes
And I don't care how long this is going to take
Does it really matter how you played the game
when you were never really in it
