Way Down Yonder In New Orleans
Way down yonder in new orleans
In the land of the dreamy scenes
Theres a garden of eden...you know what I mean
Creole babies with flashin eyes
Softly whisper their tender sighs
Then stop....wont you give your lady fair...a little smile
Stop..ya bet your life youll linger there...a little while
Weve got heaven right here on earth
With those beautiful queens
Way down yonder in new...orleans
(instrumental break)
Youre gonna find heaven right here on earth
With all them beautiful queens
Way down yonder in new or.....
I goin down yonder to new orleans
Its way down yonder in new orleans

Aberdeen
I was over in aberdeen
On my way to new orleans
I was over in aberdeen
On my way to new orleans
Well them aberdeen women told me
They would give me my gasoline
Aberdeen is my home
But they just dont want me around
Aberdeen is my home
But they just dont want me around
Im gonna take these women
Take them out this town
Well just look over yonder
Coming down the road
Well just look over yonder
Coming down the road
That must be my baby coming
Tell me she dont want me no more
Well theres too many women
I aint never seen
Well theres too many women
I aint never seen
I bring too many women
Back from new orleans
I was standin round cryin
With my heart right in my hand
I was standin round cryin
With my heart right in my hand
I was lookin for that woman
One aint got no man
Well just look over yonder
Where we used to live
Well just look over yonder
Where we used to live
Dont you know its killing me baby
How we cant live here no more
Well its goodbye baby
If Im never gonna see you no more
Well its goodbye baby
If Im never gonna see you no more
Im gonna tell everybody youve been
Still knockin at my door

Down To New Orleans
Hey creole darlin
Talk that french to me
You know your love is somethin
Like I aint never seen
Im goin down, down, down, down to new orleans
Your eyes shine line diamonds
And those kisses sure make me scream
There aint nothin like love on the bayou
Honey I know you know what I mean
Im goin down, down, down, down to new orleans
Im goin down, down, down, down to new orleans
Chorus:
They got the gumbo and the creole
They got the quarter all night long
I got my delta queen that makes my heart sing
Man I aint never goin home
Im goin down, down, down, down to new orleans

New Orleans
(words & music by tepper - bennett)
Youll never know
What heaven means
Until youve been down to new orleans
You aint been livin till you cuddle and coo
With some black-eyed baby by de old bayou
Youve never seen
Youve never seen those cupid doll queens
Like they got em in new orleans
And, ooh, they love you like no-one can
It makes you awful glad that you were born a man.
If-if-if you aint been there
Then you aint been nowhere
The livins lazy and the lovins fine
If you feel low down
So help me hannah
You should lose the blues in loui-si-i-si-ana.
Get the lead
Get the lead out of your jeans
And hot foot it down, hot foot down to where?
New orleans
Louisiana baby tells you stay awhile
Live it up, love it up, southern style
Way down in new new orleans.

Wild Blue Yonder
If you need a prison break
I will be the file in the cake
We will make a great escape
Into the wild blue yonder
If you need to chase the blues
I will be your running shoes
Well double back and leave no clues
Into the wild blue yonder
Chorus
Into the wild blue yonder
Where we can be free
Into the wild blue yonder
Im takin you with me
If you need to fight for love
I will be your boxing gloves
Cheering crowds will lift us up
Into the wild blue yonder
Chorus
If you need someone to care
If life is treating you unfair
Take my love Ill lead you there
Into the wild blue yonder
Into the wild blue yonder

The Planet Of New Orleans
Standin in the corner
Of toulouse and dauphine
Waitin on marie-ondine
Im tryin to place a tune
Under a louisiana moonbeam
On the planet of new orleans
In a bar they call the saturn
And in her eyes of green
And somethin that she said in a dream
Inside of my suit I got my mojo root
And a true love figurine
For the planet of new orleans
New orleans - the other planet
With other life upon it
And everythin thats shakin in between
If you should ever land upon it
You better know whats on it
The planet of new orleans
Now Im tryin to find my way
Through the rain and the steam
Im lookin straight ahead through the screen
And then I heard her say
Somethin in the limousine
bout taking a ride across the planet of new orleans
If she was an ace
And I was just a jack
And the cards were never seen
We could have been the king and the queen
But she took me back to her courtyard
Where magnolia perfume screams
Behind the gates and the granite
Of the planet of new orleans

Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans
Do you know what it means to miss new orleans
And miss it each night and day
I know Im not wrong... this feelings gettin stronger
The longer, I stay away
Miss them moss covered vines...the tall sugar pines
Where mockin birds used to sing
And Id like to see that lazy mississippi...hurryin into spring
The moonlight on the bayou.......a creole tune.... that fills the air
I dream... about magnolias in bloom......and Im wishin I was there
Do you know what it means to miss new orleans
When thats where you left your heart
And theres one thing more...i miss the one I care for
More than I miss new orleans

Louisiana Purchase
Louisiana purchase, I'll tell you what it means
It means I'd like to sell you New Orleans
Come on, come on
And you all can go to town way down in New Orleans
Louisiana salesman with nothing in his jeans
That's why I'd like to sell you New Orleans
Come on, come on
And do all the things there are to do in New Orleans
Where does that heat come from?
That rhythmic beat come from?
And that red meat come from?
New Orleans
Louisiana purchase, I told you what it means
So won't you let me sell you New Orleans?
Come on, come on
And you all can go to town way down in New Orleans

Orleans
My sister was named Orleans
After the town where she was born,
Dear Orleans, my best friend,
A little girl with hazel eyes,
Dear Orleans, please don’t cry,
Hold my hand and stay with me,
And never say good bye.
My sister grew up beautiful
Like so many little girls do,
My sister Orleans, late one night,
Danced with a man named Lou.
Dear Orleans, please come home,
Mama and daddy and I
Are waiting here for you.
My sister never came home that night,
And daddy called the law,
Mama paced the floor till dawn
And wrung her hands till they were raw,
Dear Orleans, we waited till
The police came to our house
And told us what they saw.
My sister had been ravished bad
And left to die alone.
The man called Lou had fled the town
And by morning he was gone.
Dear Orleans, thank God you lived,
Though you’ll never be the same,
At least you’re safe at home.
My sister Orleans grew a life
Conceived through hate and fear;
We tried to hide it from the town
But soon it became clear.
Dear Orleans, hid her shame
As day by day she swelled
And the baby’s birth drew near.
My sister thrashed and cried in bed
On the day the sun was high;
She begged for mercy and release
Till we heard the infant cry
Dear Orleans, reached out for him
I wrapped him in a towel
And watched her baby die.

House Of The Rising Sun
(first releasetraditional, arranged by bob dylan)
There is a house down in new orleans
They call the risin sun
And its been the ruin of many a poor girl
And me, oh god, Im a-one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed these new blue jeans
My sweetheart was a gambler, lord
Down in new orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and a trunk
And the only time hes satisfied
Is when hes on a drunk
He fills his glasses up to the brim
And hell pass the cards around
And the only pleasure he gets out of life
Is ramblin from town to town
Oh tell my baby sister
Not to do what I have done
But shun that house in new orleans
They call the risin sun
Well, its one foot on the platform
And the other foot on the train
Im goin back to new orleans
To wear that ball and chain
Im a-goin back to new orleans
My race is almost run
Im goin back to end my life
Down in the risin sun
There is a house in new orleans
They call the risin sun
Its been the ruin of many poor girl
And me, oh god, Im a-one

The Flood Has Lifted Up
The flood have lifted up, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.
The mighty water came, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.
God gonna trouble the waters, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.
Many people lost homes and lives, O lord
Down deep below sea level, New Orleans.

And its been the ruin

And me, oh lord, Im one

Let a gambler lead me astray
My mother was a tailor

New Orleans
(mark d. sanders/bob dipiero/steve seskin)
He was twenty-five, she was twenty-eight
He was home grown country, shed just pulled off the interstate
She bought a dr. pepper, ten dollars worth of gas
She was ovbiously lost but too afraid to ask directions
So he offered her a smile and a stick of beech nut gum
He said where you headed to girl, where are you coming from
She said
New orleans but thats another story
New orleans thats another time
Thats another town, thats another life
First she stayed a day then she stayed a week
Couple of months later they were living on his parents street
He worked the station and she worked the store
And then they had a baby and
Then they had one more little jesse
When she dropped the kids off at the mothers day out
All the ladies had their questions
But they knew not to ask about
New orleans but thats another story
New orleans thats another time
Thats another town, thats another life
Wednesday night supper at the first baptist church
Stranger standin in the doorway
As theyre passin out the dessert
He said go on and pack your bags
Cause Im here to take you home
Im goin back to louisiana
And woman I aint gonna go with out you
Theres a few defining moments in every persons life
When you know what youve done wrong
And you know what youve done right
And before the congregation and her husband and her kids
She says, how dare you even speak to me
After everything you did...in
New orleans but thats another story
New orleans thats another time
Thats another town, thats another life
Thats another town, thats another life

Nils Finn
Now little Nils Finn had away to go;
The skis were too loose at both heel and toe.
--"That's too bad!" rumbled yonder.
Then little Nils Finn in the snow set his feet:
"You ugliest troll, you shall never me cheat!"
--"Hee-ho-ha!" rumbled yonder.
Nils Finn with his staff beat the snow till it blew
"Your trollship, now saw you how hapless it flew?"
--"Hit-li-hu!" rumbled yonder.
Nils Finn pushed one ski farther forward with might;
The other held fast,--he reeled left and right.
--"Pull it up!" rumbled yonder.
Nils' tears wet the snow, while he kicked and he struck;
The more that he kicked there, the deeper he stuck.
--"That was good!" rumbled yonder.
The birch-trees, they danced, and the pine-trees said "Hoo!"
They more were than one,--were a hundred and two.
--"Know your way?" rumbled yonder.
A laugh shook the ridge till it made the snow fly;
But Nils clenched his fists and he swore 't was a lie.
--"Now beware!" rumbled yonder.
The snow-field yawned wide, and the heavens came low;
Nils thought 't was now time for him also to go.
--"Is he gone?" rumbled yonder.--
Two skis in the snow looked about everywhere,
But saw nothing much; for there was nothing there.
--"Where is Nils?" rumbled yonder.

Fly Away Home
The bells toll for you today
To fly to your new home in
Yonder sky..
Spread your wings and fly
From down here below,
So, fly away home
Oh, fly away home
To your new home in
Yonder sky..
Our hearts are broken and
We fill so blue,
Many tears has been shred
For miss you so
We know you have pass through
Heavens gates
Your journey was hard but the
Bell toll
For you to come home in yonder
Sky..
So, fly away home
Oh, fly away home
Your great work you accomplished
Down here below
Have been awarded
Your memory will never fade
So, fly away home
Oh, fly away home
To your new home in yonder
Sky..
If I had not died I would have
Been a gospel singer..
But since I’d died I will sing
In the heavenly choir..
So, fly away home
Oh, fly away home...
