You Can't Blame Louis

One small town boy whose dreams were higher
Thought up a plan
To be a city man
Out in the world
Bright burned the fire
Through every door
He was so sure
Than he ran into a problem
He heard the voice inside him say
"do you believe that what you have is what you need"
You can't blame louis
Oh, louis
He found a girl
His heart's desire
She was the first
She quenched the thirst
His social whirl
Did not inspire
Her live divine
Soon lost its shine
Now he's counting every hour
Wondering where she spent the night
She doesn't slow, it seems he'll never know
You can't blame louis
Oh, louis
You can't blame louis
Oh, louis
Take a day and trace a thought to where it all began
Wondering how you felt at every turn
Even thought reality was not part of the plan
By reaching out you lit the spark forever
Louis thought he'd find the answer
In a world that has no soul
He moved on, to learn onother song
You can't blame louis
Oh, louis

Robert Louis Stevenson

To My Name-Child

1

Some day soon this rhyming volume, if you learn with proper speed,
Little Louis Sanchez, will be given you to read.
Then you shall discover, that your name was printed down
By the English printers, long before, in London town.

In the great and busy city where the East and West are met,
All the little letters did the English printer set;
While you thought of nothing, and were still too young to play,
Foreign people thought of you in places far away.

Ay, and when you slept, a baby, over all the English lands
Other little children took the volume in their hands;
Other children questioned, in their homes across the seas:
Who was little Louis, won't you tell us, mother, please?

2

Now that you have spelt your lesson, lay it down and go and play,
Seeking shells and seaweed on the sands of Monterey,
Watching all the mighty whalebones, lying buried by the breeze,
Tiny sandpipers, and the huge Pacific seas.

And remember in your playing, as the sea-fog rolls to you,
Long ere you could read it, how I told you what to do;
And that while you thought of no one, nearly half the world away
Some one thought of Louis on the beach of Monterey!

In Senegal

Ha-ha-ha! !
Freedom to sin without obligation;
What about the children being born after sing these women? !

Visit me in St. Louis in Senegal and learn from my muse,
And then back to St. Louis in the U.S.A. to meet my wife;
For the muse of this world is all about us.

Louis' Vineyard!

Louis' vineyard!
So near and so dear to you;
Inventory, history, story, victory! !
But, in a White Tower.

To bring it up,
reaching up to it!
To hold it,
With love and concern;
And like an easy drive,
Down there in Louis' vineyard.

St. Louis

My lover is called St. Louis and,
I will wash myself seven times in the Yahdan for him;
For he is a man of valour.
He is a great and honourable man,
Like his love words spoken in the bedroom;
Wash and be cleansed,
Eat and be satisfied,
For the large pot of stew is for us all.

The staff in his hand is to perform the signs,
And his kiss is like the water from the Nile;
But he is an eloquent teacher on my love too,
For i will love him forever.
St. Louis is all that i have and,
i will do my best for him always;
For his love is very special to me.

Catch Up Or Disappear

CATCH UP OR DISAPPEAR

YOU cannot just grudge
the way the world so flies
You cannot just try
the speed so high, you cry
You cannot just shy
away from the rules that so fry
You cannot just lie
blind to the needs that are so sly
You cannot just say nay
To the changes that may leave you so dry
You cannot just stop and pry
as no one wants you here so naïve
If, you cannot thus survive
CLEAR OUT - the world is so,
NOT YOURS OR MINE.

St. Louis Villa

Citronella, Star Anise, Clove and Fennel;
Spice up my food for others to eat like,
'St. Louis Villa' at 'Nii Boi Town'.
Of the forgotten land,
Of the forgotten people,
Of the forgotten folks,
And of my forgotten friends;
Like the way of the life we have to think about,
But be very successful and healthy all year round.

The way of Cain is in you,
The error of Balaam is with you,
The rebellion of Korah is on your steps,
And to put me into remembrance is like the early bird.
Micahyah is the Malak Gadol,
And she contended with the Devil in a dispute;
But come to 'St. Louis Villa' for the feast of love.

Crowded Room

i thought i saw your face in a crowded room
i turned to look, but you disappeared too soon

the vision of you stayed in my mind

as i felt my heart start to sink
my mind began to race faster
as it tried to think.

i thought of all the things we
had done in the past
and wondered why it did not last.

was it something that i said or done?
was i the foolish one?
did i get you to turn your back on me
or was it that you wanted to be free?

so now i search each and every crowded room
in hopes that i'll find you soon.

just to let you know
that in my heart you'll always be
for you have become a part of me.

Isle Of Louis

It is very sweet but,
It is very painful;
It makes me cry when i still remember you.
My brain is plastic and i am the rubber-man,
Of love's fading ember on the Isle of Louis.

Breaking Up

breaking up is so very hard to do
especially when it's me and you
we have tried to keep our love alive
but! apparantly it has died.

love and respect go hand in hand
and that is something you don't understand
if respect you had given me
this love would have lasted eternally.

when we first got together
life seemed so much better
then with time you started to change
and with any problem-i was to blame.

i tried to give you the world
and into our life came a little girl
with this little girl i thought that things would get better
instead you became a control fanatic
and any little word it became static.

i know that everything in life is two sided
right-wrong-up-down-so i listened to your complaints
about everything including me
and i made changes drastically.

but the changes were to no avail
for you did not see that you still tried to control me
and everyone around.
and if they did'nt agree you'd put them to the ground

love is not who is in control
love grows from the inner soul
and if this did not happen to you
that your knees are weak, your heart skips a beat
and everything in life seems happy and gay
and your mind starts to stray.

then i think that what it is-is that i never entered your heart
deep enough to make those feelings rise
instead you chose to live a lie
so with this we must part
in hopes that we'll both find a new start.

this is the part of breaking up that we must bear
this is the part of breaking up that we both share

.

Is This The Future? !

When i think about the future,
I do ask myself whether i can make it big!
But a voice came me saying, ' St.Louis, you will make it'.
So i have my faith towards this dream.

Is this the future? !
Yes, the future is really here with us;
And the future lies in our own hands.
To be rich and famous,
To be bright and glorious,
Let your faith be strong always towards your dreams.

Living My Life

I’m living my life the way I want to
No one’s going to tell me what to do.
I’ve got to make my own mistakes
And if it’s wrong then it’s my fate.

You’ve already lived your life and like most
Mistakes you’ve made quite a few
That is what we all seem to do.
I’ll make mine so I can’t pass the blame
And I’ll hang my head in shame.

I am young and a teen, and there is
So much in life to be seen.
I’ll make mistakes, I know that’s true
But it’s something that I have to do.

I love you mom and dad, and I know you care
But you can’t live my life
It’s just not fair.
You should know for you went through the same
And on your parents “ did you pass the blame? ”

The dress, the talk, the way we look at life
We do not think about it once or twice.
We just do what’s in that style
And we’ll grow out of it in a little while.

Trust your children “ mom and dad”
For your future is our plan.
