Jeremy
Jeremy sits in the sun and he stares at the stripes
On the floor from the bars on the door,
Thinking of rabbits he kept as a child
In a chicken wire cage; he remembers the rage
Of his father the night he made his one call;
The relative stranger who left him to fall
To the mercy of judges with no shield at all.
Now he sits and he stares at the punishing wall.
Jeremy picks up the crayon he saved and he
Writes in the dark and he thinks of the park
And the flowers he gave to the girl with the bells.
He remembers he smile; it was gone at the trial.
Hear the footsteps of night guards patrolling the halls.
There are coughers and talkers who dont sleep at all.
midst the cursewords and worse words
That someone had scrawled
He writes her a poem on the punishing wall.
Mary, sweet mary, its dark and its cold;
Its all of the stories youve ever been told.
Keep the jar on the window, keep the lock on the door.
Keep your mind on the man; keep away from the store.
Oh, jeremy gentle, oh, jeremy kind
As you walk with the thieves and the killers believe
That our numbers are growin; the change has to come.
Put resentment aside; dont turn bitter and die

Dead Boys Poem
The child sits and weeps,
How could this be all that matters,
Why did this have to hurt so deep,
How could this be life?
The child sits with the pain inside,
He sits with his heart in his chest,
‘How could I have died? ’
Is all he thinks, he forgets the rest.
The child’s eyes closed so tight,
His fists clenched so strong
He feels the night,
He knows everything that happened was wrong.
The child stands and looks into the houses light
He stares at not the window,
Not at the sight,
Yet only for the weeping widow.
The child stands holding the gun,
The gun he died holding,
As he remembers his father killing him, his only son
He remembers his father scolding.
He knows he took a life,
Yet he knows his father took his,
He remembers not the taking of his father’s life,
Only the pain of his father stealing his.
His eyes so dark,
His mind so lost,
His hand tracing deaths mark,
As he remembers it’s cost.
He remembers the scene, the time,
He remembers the look in his father’s face,
He remembers doing the crime,
He remembers seeing the pain in his father’s face.
But then his memory stops,
And reality takes place,
For this is when he dropped,
This is when life left his face.
He walks past,
To eternity; to roam
Of all his memories this shall be his last
For this is the dead boy’s poem.

Singing abbas mamma mia
{five poisened over dinner}
Drop dead watching thunderbirds fly
{five get over excited}

Jeremy
Sitting by an open door
With rain dropping in my face
Then lightning strikes
Across the room
I fall in your embrace
It was a lovely rendezvous
Better than anyone ever know
A gentle face a fiery heart
With nothing to conceal
That's what it takes to hold me down
A man with grand appeal
Oh while I draw you to my soul
I feel the fire of love taking control
Jeremy
When I think of you
The good times that we have
The melody
Sings out to me
My heart at your command
Jeremy
Oh baby

Mary
Maybe one breath away
Ill find the words to say
Ill sit and light the bong
Ill hold my hit in real long
I dont know if I can go up inside of you tonite
Oh mary baby, please dont fuss and fight
Youve heard the line before
Mary, baby, please dont think Im a whore
If you come home with me
Turn off the lights lock up the door and start gettin busy
I dont know if I can go so far up inside you tonite
Mary, baby, I could do it right
When we got to her pad
Mary, baby, started callin me her dad
As she gave me head
We could not find the damn bed
Fifteen years old plus one
Hotter than a microwave oven
Mary, baby, daddy is comin home

Lovin You Again
(roger ferris)
You call me from a phone booth with tears in your voice
Tell me youve been out all night runnin with the boys
You say youre cold and tired and lonely
And you got no place to go
There wasnt any phonebook
Mines the only number that you know
Well call yourself a taxi and Ill pay im at the door
If you dont mind sleepin on the sofa or on the floor
And I spend an hour hatin you
til the cab pulls in
My heart has found another way
To be loving you again
And every time is the last time
And every time is the first
Everytime is the last time with you
Oh it never gets no better
And it couldnt get no wore
Then I hear the footsteps the drivers at the door
He says I look familiar has he made this run before
And I tell him I dont think so
Whats it matter anyway
Just tell me what the meter reads
And Ill go and get your pay
Well now its down to you and me though it dont seem right
We both know where well be and what well do tonight
And after an hour or two
When the night comes to an end
My heart has found another way
To be lovin you again
And every time is the last time
And every time is the first
Everytime is the last time with you
Oh it never gets no better
And it couldnt get no worse
I know that there should be more to say Ill just reed your mind
Lets save whats left unsaid for another time
cause I know therell be another time
So until then
My heart has found another way
To be lovin you again
My heart has found another way
To be lovin you again
Oh, my heart has found another way
To be lovin you again

The Old Man alone in his room
He doesn't like to talk
just sits quietly
never smiles or laughs.
Won't join in any of the games,
eats his meals in his room
leaves his tray outside the door.
Next to his bed is a black and white
photograph of a man in uniform.
In a drawer lie medals covered by socks,
bravery hidden away.
He can hear laughter outside his room
as he stares out of his window at a dark cold sky.
When the sun shines he likes to feed the birds,
a squirrel takes food from his outstretched hand.
One day his tray isn't outside the door,
outside a lone squirrel waits.

Why Dont You Try Me
(e. young)
If your man has got you on the run why dont you try me ?
If you wanna have a little fun, oh baby, why dont you try me ?
If you tote more that you can bear, if your troubles been more than your share
And if things are not going just right why dont you try a man like me tonight ?
Why dont you try me tonight ?
Why dont you try me ?
Why dont you try me tonight ?
Why dont you try me ?
Last night while I was trying to sleep
I heard a racket from the room next door, hum
And that was you and your man havin a fight
Like youve done so many nights before
Woman, Ill turn you every which way but loose
Is what I heard him shout, uh-oh, look out!
So I jumped out of the bed and I opened the door
Just as you came runnin out
And I hollered: why dont you try me tonight ?
Why dont you try me ?
Why dont you try me tonight ?
Why dont you try me ?
I aint saying Im all that you need
And I wont tell you, honey, you will be free
But all night, well, I will keep trying
And when I say I want ya, girl, you know Im not lyin
You see a good woman out on the streets these days, friends
Ah, a bad old man cant be hard to find, no, no
Kind of man whod steal your heart
And call true love a crime
Thats why I keep asking ya, baby
Why dont you try me tonight ?
Do yourself a favor
Why dont you try me ?
Regular man aint treatin you right
Why dont you try a man like me tonight ?
Why dont you try me ?
Why dont you try a man like me tonight ?
Why dont you try me ?

Call Of The Wild
I know her, and every notion I get from her I wear inside me.
I know her, all of the broken leaves of love she leaves behind.
Oh - dont you hide away from the rain.
Oh - can you tell me the name of this game?
I got to get thru to you.
Behind the door, another wall, a lonely cry a call of the wild.
A dancing daze, an empty face, a crystal high a call of the wild.
And there is something that sweeps the dark, a lovers dart,
The call of a broken heart.
Wrapped in the night, behind these eyes, oh hear the cry,
A call of the wild.
I know her and in my mind I dream of her, how she aches without me.
I know her and every heart is a lonely hunter when she walks by.
Oh - can you read the hurt in my eyes?
Oh - dont you leave without saying goodbye.
I got to get thru to you.
Behind the door, another wall...

Sad Lisa
She hangs her head and cries on my shirt.
She must be hurt very badly.
Tell me whats making you sadly?
Open your door, dont hide in the dark.
Youre lost in the dark, you can trust me.
cause you know thats how it must be.
Lisa lisa, sad lisa lisa.
Her eyes like windows, tricklin rain
Upon her pain getting deeper.
Though my love wants to relieve her.
She walks alone from wall to wall.
Lost in a hall, she cant hear me.
Though I know she likes to be near me.
Lisa lisa, sad lisa lisa.
She sits in a corner by the door.
There must be more I can tell her.
If she really wants me to help her.
Ill do what I can to show her the way.
And maybe one day I will free her.
Though I know no one can see her.
Lisa lisa, sad lisa lisa.

Lover To The Dawn
And as the sparrow sings
Dawn chorus for
Someone else to hear
The thinker sits alone growing older
And so bitter
She gave them life,
She gave them all
They drained her very soul dry...dry
Hey hey hey bitter girl
Were out to sitting here digging you
We flew done here just to figure you
Its easy
Dont be so bitter
Oh oh oh crazy girl
You gave too much and you got nothing
Too many problems and not one thing
In return
Left high and dry
Door
And as the sun rise stream
Flickers on
She finds lavender
To fight the beckoning

Love Story
Partly owned to her house
Wooden white picket fence
Mother waits for father
In a backless dress
Hardly used a diaphram
Put back into the case
A one way trip down memory lane
As she awaits
I dont wanna know
Cheat me
I dont wanna know
Children play in the yard
Mother stares at a wall
Father says hes gonna be back late
So dont wait up
About a quarter to 3
Father stares at a wall
Stained thicker than water
Whos gonna clean it up

Growin A Little Each Day
Tom johnston
Well, music, sweet music
Lord, is gonna be played, mm-hmm
And the sound of billys banjo
Is like honey on your day
When they promenade down through the square
Theyll hear you say
Im comin your way
And Im only just a growin
A little each day
The sun of the delta
Beams across your face, oh yeah
And good old grand-dads stories
Seem to set your pace
All the men youve known in this town
Dont seem to have it
And they bring you down
Well, remember youre just growin
A little each day
So throw out your arms and take in the sky
Take down your hair and watch the birds fly
Dont be afraid to show how you feel
Dont sit and hide, dont you know that youre real
You can have it if you want it
Change yourself and play
cause youre only, only just growin
A little each day
So woman, sweet woman
Why you feel that way
Dont you know youre only growin
Just a little each day
When the good lord placed you on this earth
His good words to heed
Its all that you need
And youre only just growin
A little each day
Oh, youre only just growin
A little each day
Oh, sweet woman, youre only just growin
A little each day

Spark In The Dark
Welcome to the party
Its only me and you
Tell the world to go away, babe
And Ill tell you what to do
Come over here and kiss me
I want to pull your hair
Turn out the lights and hold me
I want to touch you everywhere
We dont need nobody, baby
We dont need champagne
Ill take you to the deepest,
Darkest, hottest, lovers lane
For a little spark in the dark
Just a little spark in the dark
Dont matter where we sleep
Dont matter where we park
All we need is a spark, spark
Spark in the dark
Just a little spark in the dark
Come around midnight
Well be crawlin on the floor
Burnin with the fever
And yellin out for more
But dont you write it in your
Diary, baby
Dont blab it on the phone
Cuz if your mom and dad find out
Theyll skin me to the bone
Now we dont need instructions,
Baby
Dont you be afraid
It takes a little friction
Thats how our love is made
]from a little spark in the dark
Just a little spark in the dark
Dont matter what you say
No matter what you do
As long as it is me and you
We got a spark in the dark
Just a little spark in the dark, yeah
We dont need nobody, baby
We dont need cocaine
Ill take you to the deepest,
Darkest, hottest lovers lane
Spark in the dark
Just a little spark in the dark
Dont matter where we sleep
Dont matter where we park
All we need is a spark, spark
Spark in the dark

Psycho
Can mary fry some fish, mama
Im as hungry as can be
Oh lord, how I wish, mama
You could stop the baby cryin
cause my head is killing me
I saw my ex again last night mama
She was at the dance at millers store
She was with that jackie white mama
I killed them both
And theyre buried under jacobs sycamore
You think Im psycho dont you mama
I didnt mean to break your cup
You think Im psycho dont you mama
You better let em lock me up
Oh, dont hand me johnnys pup mama
As I might squeeze him too tight
Im havin crazy dreams again mama
So let me tell you bout last night
I woke up in johnnys room mama
Standing right there by his bed
With my hands around his throat mama
Wishing both of us were dead
You think Im psycho dont you mama
I just killed johnnys pup
You think Im psycho dont you mama
Youd better let em lock me up
Oh you recall that little girl mama
I believe her name was betty clark
Oh dont tell me that shes dead mama
cause I just saw her in the park
We were sitting on a bench mama
Thinking of a game to play
Seems I was holding a wrench mama
Then my mind just walked away
You think Im psycho dont you mama
I didnt mean to break your cup
You think Im psycho dont you mama
Mama why dont you get up?

So Close
They met on the dance floor in the old high school gym
He fell like a rock
She kinda liked him
And his heart beat like thunder as they moved cross the floor
But when the music was over she slipped out the door
Yeah a man loves a woman but he cant understand
Why shes sad when she stares at the ring on her hand
Then she sits in some club where the long shadows fall
Drops a coin in the jukebox not the phone on the wall
So close
Yet so far away
We believe in tomorrow and a better day
We lie down to sleep so close
Yet so far away
Theres a restless look in you eye tonight
Theres a secret hurt in my heart
And the dream that pulls us together girl
Is a dream that keeps us
So close
Yet so far away
Some people think if you really believe
Thats all you need to solve all the mysteries
Well I know someone who just heads for the sun
She says I dont wanna be wise, I just wanna stay young
Theres a restless look in your eye tonight
Theres a secret hurt in my heart
And the dream that pulls us together girl is a dream
Thats gonna tear us apart

Whereas Jeremy is just the opposite: always moving because he's never really thinking of anything and the kind of guy you'd worry inviting to a dinner party because he says what he thinks. He can be insulting at times but doesn't mean to be.
