We are wise when we learn from one another. We are strong when we contain our impulses. We are honored when we honor others.

The Treasury
THE strange intelligence then reached my ears
That in the land of Egypt lived a man,
Who, wise of wit, subjected to his scan
The dark occurrences of uncome years;
He judged the stars, and by the moving spheres
And aspects of the heavens unveiled the dim
Face of futurity, which then to him
Appeared, as clear to us the past appears.
A yearning towards this sage inspired my pen
And tongue, that instant, with humility
Descending from my height of majesty;
Such mastery has a strong desire o'er men;
My earnest prayers I wrote -- I sent -- with ten
My noblest envoys, loaded each apart
With gold and silver, which with all my heart
I offered him, but the request was vain.
With much politeness the wise man replied,
"You, sire, are a great king, and I should be
Most glad to serve you, but in such a fee
Of gold and silver gems I take no sort of pride;
Deign, then, yourself to use them; I abide
Content in more abundant wealth; and may
Your treasures profit you in every way
That I can wish, your servant." I complied;
But sent the stateliest of my argosies,
Which reached, and from the Alexandrian port
Brought safe this cunning master to my court,
Who greeted me with all kind courtesies;
I knowing well his great abilities,
And learning in the movement of the spheres,
Have highly honored him these many years,
For honor is the birthright of the wise.

Wise Man
I sat before the wise man
In the autumn of my youth
And I told him all
The things I had to know
He said you have the future
If you need to find the truth
And in his eyes
I saw that it was so
So I came right out
And asked him
The meaning of life
And as he smiled
I saw a twinkle in his eye
He said with all his years
Theres still so much
He has to learn
And once again
I saw that it was so
Keep on living, loving
Waiting your turn
Its the only way to
Ease your concern
If you want to find
Your dream, be sure
You dont wake up too soon
Or youll find it easier
Shooting for the moon
Wise man, wise man
Which way shall I run
Theres so many roads
So many ways to turn
I am like a blind man
Lost in the sun
I wanna be like you
And be a wise man too
But Im looking for
An easy way to learn
And be a wise man too

If the poet be pure in his morals, he will be pure in his verses too; the pen is the tongue of the mind, and as the thought engendered there, so will be the things that it writes down. And when kings and princes observe this marvelous science of poetry in wise, virtuous, and thoughtful subjects, they honor, value, exalt them, and even crown them witt the leaves of that tree which the thunderbolt strikes not, as if to shos that they whose brows are honored and adorned with such a crown are not to be assailed by anyone.

I' ll Always Stand Strong
here we are again
here it goes again
the night become a nightmare
when you are insulted me
it's like a lesson
a lesson to learn
it hurt but i'll take it
to make the best of it
tears won't make it better
fear won't make it stronger
i'll always stand strong
strong as god wanted me to be
i will not give up
when the world tries to bring me down
i got to keep going
i got to be strong
strong as a fighter
strong enough to learn the lesson
i'll always stand strong

But it's been a great, humbling - and I've been very honored to have the opportunity to serve and to lead and to be the representative of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who are in Washington. And it's been the greatest honor of my life.

Learn
when broken
learn
when happy
learn
when bored
learn
when you float and does not know what to do
learn just the same
when filled with idealism
learn
when fed with what you cannot swallow
learn again
when the times get rough and you want to kill yourself
learn, learn, learn
you still have many things to learn
faces of life
bodies of life
learn, learn, learn everything
do not surrender
for in truth, you do not do what you only want
you will also do what you are told to do
no questions asked
or you will be left out
or you will be not a part of the picture
this life
learn, learn, learn, always learn
do not surrender
live, learn, live, learn
you will soon do all that others will tell you
learn, learn and learn again
and sooner you will have learned everything
and then do what you want to do
with firm conviction
you know now what is right
and that is what you will do,
now without even being told
you have become yourself
but still learn, learn, and learn again
because
you might be wrong,
try thinking some more, learn
relearn, learn, learn, learn, forevermore....

The Simple
Wine is a mocker and,
Strong drink is a brawler!
So whoever is deceived by them is not wise;
But let the simple learn a lesson from them.

Honor the Vets
I looked at the grave stones of the veteran dead
Tears filled my eyes as I bowed my head.
All of them had served their country proud
Now they lay in this ground.
They were sons and daughters, mothers and fathers
Sisters and brothers, uncles and aunts
And the list goes on and on.
But how many of them are honored
with a flower or two.
It’s really not hard to do.
They gave their lives so that we can be free
Don’t they deserve some dignity?
This country is standing on the lives of the dead
All of these have died, and many have bled.
Freedom isn’t really free
Other wise these grave stones you would not see.
Isn’t there someone in your family
Who died fighting for liberty?
Let us honor the dead
And thank the living for all that they have given.

Life
Life is a beautiful place,
It is how you make it to be.
Life is about believing in
yourself,
This is your life and what
you choose to do with your
life is up to you.
You respect others and they
will respect you too.
Life is never all that easy,
We learn to simply grow
strong and grow wise each
day.
We learn through our mistakes,
That is how we simply turn them
around and start over again.
Life is precious as you are,
Keep the faith and never
let go.
Life has many mysteries for us
to solve,
That is why we learn to put the
pieces of the puzzle together.
When goals are completed we know
we have earned a big star,
We all walk proud knowing we have
done well.
Life has a powerful meaning,
We all must always feel proud to
walk this earth.
Life has has given to many of us,
A chance to live, laugh
and to learn.
Remember, life is too short
to feel grumpy,
We learn to turn that grumpy
little frown into happiness.

For some people the day comes
when they have to declare the great Yes
or the great No. It's clear at once who has the Yes
ready within him; and saying it,
he goes from honor to honor, strong in his conviction.
He who refuses does not repent. Asked again,
he'd still say no. Yet that no-the right no-
drags him down all his life.

Do Not Forget The Sad Times
do not forget the sad times
make an album
of your tears
and fears
give them the captions
and tell yourself
i have learned, i have grown, i will learn some more,
i am strong, i want to be strong some more,
i have fallen, i am rising,
so do not forget the harsh times
the sad moments, recall them, relish them
learn, learn
surely, you will miss them again
your teachers leaving you some marks
A plusses
some more A+, sir and ma'am

The Right Man for the Job
Let me give myself to you.
I wish to hang upon a cross.
Let my ways of old be gone.
And rejoice in all my loss.
It was you that died for the sins of all.
And it was sin that you became.
I feel it would be my honor Lord.
To share our savior’s name.
He was the greatest of men on earth.
For the suffering he bared.
For the honor of the one that loved so much.
His pain I vow to share.
My life, I give it all to you.
For one day I’ll see His face.
I will hug the one who saved us all.
With His mercy and His grace.
Til’ I met you Lord, I did not know.
A love that was so strong.
I was lost and looked for a place to fit.
Now I’ve found where I belonged.
So if I can help, save one more soul.
Then I know Your Will be done.
If you need a man to fill the job.
It’s my honor to be the one.

I learn
I learn when I teach others
I learn when I listen
I learn when I read
I learn from children
I learn from animals
I learn from nature
I learn how to breathe
I learn how to live
I learn how to love
I learn how to be a human being
I'm always learning ...
