Overhang

Good morning, gentlemen. why the uneasy frowns?
Too much everything and I cant recall. did I let you down?
Nobody will answer me. makes me feel that I want to die.
My mind is inclined to lie.
Oh, no --- think I did it last night again.
Oh, no --- been out on the overhang again.
My hotel room was a battleground.
How did I find my way?
My wallets gone and my jackets torn.
My memorys a hazy grey.
Do I seem to remember now, two creatures about eight feet tall?
No safety net to break my fall.
Oh, no --- must have done it last night again.
Oh, no --- crawled out on the overhang again.
Been out on the overhang.
Watching demons and spirits glide.
Heading out to the nearest star.
Better lead me back to the bar.
Oh, no --- might do it tonight again.
Oh, no --- crawled out on the overhang again.
Been out on the overhang.
Crawling out on the overhang.
Out of the overhang.

Outbound

Not having pulled away from the Station, But still I am outbound-
I am at all times outbound-
When I grovel under my overhang,
The rocks above are black then white,
Very unstable,
So I have to leave my home again, forever;
And never do I know where to roam,
To find stability
In the world.
It doesn't exist,
For one thing.
Because something ominous will Hang forever its head,
And from there I must be outbound again

Decline of Phæthon

i 40-Phæthon’s
leash more suns
for caravan
with your body’s-span
more zodiac’s bears
than eye unbars
show-crabs and goats
than telescopes
yet must decline
in rounded time
of 40 suns
I, — Phæthon’s!

and suffer this preferment
because you pierce dreams
because you overhang
night’s snarl with body’s-fang
see where my blood
streams
in the firmament

Fat

Walk any street in America, what do you see?
Fat women waddling
Fat men smoking fat cigars
Fat children munching fatburgers
Fat cars with fat tires

Why?
Could it be that someone wants it that way?

“Consumption is the basis of Capitalism”

Fat women go to gyms and read diet books
Fat men do nothing because they don’t mind belly overhang
Fat Children know what tastes good, not what’s good for them
Fat cars consume gas/oil and pollute

It’s time to stop letting FAT run the economy
It’s time to get rid of corporate fat cats
It’s time to get rid of fat politicians

It’s time for everything to slim down…

Woodman

Ax and partly because of the aristocratic nose geothermal
History's history all the dust
Saturday deep sleep suddenly lost air.

Tree pond water touches remain apathetic, wretched memories bind
Music sounds bitter defeat us
I have the pulse of the overhang kankabati cloud, long tears
We were sleeping in the yard at night
It's the sound of wood broken away in the dark.

Enter a name inscribed on the chest and tree feller
Who has cheated death at the platter of rice.

Anaconda

The giant anaconda’s scales glint, gleam.
serpentining slowly in between
branch overhang of some piranha stream.
Strength selection studied shows in gene
through evolution’s jungle grey, brown, green -
that, sunlit, on reflection, golden seem.
Gravely swaying, swathed in glistening sheen,
she undulates through undergrowth, is seen
sliding with tongue fork-hair,
gliding over there,
where a great gurgling geyser
ceaselessly hisses steam.
Though modern, South American, this scene
a prehistoric portrait might have been
when taken in the context of ringed layer
on layer of suitors curling round spawn glair…
How can she judge between them, how compare?

The Skies

Ay! gloriously thou standest there,
Beautiful, boundless firmament!
That swelling wide o'er earth and air,
And round the horizon bent,
With thy bright vault, and sapphire wall,
Dost overhang and circle all.

Far, far below thee, tall old trees
Arise, and piles built up of old,
And hills, whose ancient summits freeze,
In the fierce light and cold.
The eagle soars his utmost height,
Yet far thou stretchest o'er his flight.

Thou hast thy frowns--with thee on high,
The storm has made his airy seat,
Beyond that soft blue curtain lie
His stores of hail and sleet.
Thence the consuming lightnings break.
There the strong hurricanes awake.

Yet art thou prodigal of smiles--
Smiles, sweeter than thy frowns are stem:
Earth sends, from all her thousand isles,
A shout at thy return.
The glory that comes down from thee,
Bathes, in deep joy, the land and sea.

The sun, the gorgeous sun, is thine,
The pomp that brings and shuts the day,
The clouds that round him change and shine,
The airs that fan his way.
Thence look the thoughtful stars, and there
The meek moon walks the silent air.

The sunny Italy may boast
The beauteous tints that flush her skies.
And lovely, round the Grecian coast,
May thy blue pillars rise.
I only know how fair they stand,
Around my own beloved land.

And they are fair - a charm is theirs,
That earth, the proud green earth, has not
With all the forms, and hues, and airs,
That haunt her sweetest spot.
We gaze upon thy calm pure sphere,
And read of Heaven's eternal year.

Oh, when, amid the throng of men,
The heart grows sick of hollow mirth,
How willingly we turn us then
Away from this cold earth,
And look into thy azure breast,
For seats of innocence and rest.

Winter's Snowstorm

Nature hires her white winter coats
To still trees starkly dressed
Motion to the scene as wildlife notes.
Snowflakes settle on a Robins head blessed.

He pouts his red chest, not to blush
Rabbit stops wiggles his nose whisking snow,
Fuelled by the icy breeze’s push,
A flash from his eye’s and off he goe’s,

Synchronous vibrations of Mother Nature gropes
unleashing the resonant howls as the driving winds,
Fuel a snowstorm down the mountain slopes,
‘Neath overhang rocks the wolf packs huddle begins.

Unseen the movement of time holds its breath
For bears the whole winter in slumber,
Oblivious to an icy freezing death
Kept alive by their hibernating Jumper,

Clouds rush by with a lightning flash
As snow and sleet feeds the weathers vice,
Trees bend and fall with a splintered crash.
With several birds sealed in posterities ice.

Thunder cracks the whip in this freezing scene,
Thor declares enough is enough from the mountain tops,
Rumbles in the distance grow softer for white to go green,
Heralding a shaft of light appearing and the snow stops,
And a bird sings.

So Good So Right

This one is special for all the ladies
You never know I was that type of man
So good so right so good so, so good so
right so good so
So good so right so good so, so good so
right so good so
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
But you keep on watching the time,
Wondering what's on my mind
So you say you can't stay too long, cause
You know what I'm all a...
What I'm all about, what I'm all about
I don't have to sing and shout, what I'm
All about
You know what I'm all about
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Yes it's the truth it's the fact, I'm coming
To you straight from
The back in a mastering room style
Don't be shy, don't you lie, look into my
Eye
I'll tell you why, I'll teach you about
Feeling high
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Never before have you seen this, so I say
This feeling sink within my head, oh yea,
Oh yea
Never before have you believe it, so I mean
What I say
You just got to be yourself
Feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
Yea, feel so good about something so
Right could it last another night
A feel so good about something so right
A feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
So good so right so good so, so good so
Right so good so
So good so right so good s, so good so
Right so good so
Yes it is the strife of my life, to explain
What's in my brain
If you believe what I say, baby, baby
A check in, check in, check check, check in
Check in
Check in, check in, check in, a check in,
Check in, check into my hotel
A feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
A feel so good about something so right
Could it last another night
So good, so right, so good, so right, so
Good, so right
So right, I feel so good could it last
Another night
A feel so right could it last another
Night
A feel so good something so right, so
Good
Lord, I said I feel so right
A feel so good, oh could it last another
Night
A feel so right, oh could it last another

He's Back

You're with your baby
And you're parked alone
On a summer night
You're deep in love
But you're deeper in the woods
You think you're doin' alright
You heard a voice
Did you see that face
Or was it just a dream
It can't be real
That only happens, babe
On the movie screen
If you see him comin'
Get away if you can
He's a dangerous man
Throws a dangerous party man
He's back
The man behind the mask
And he's out of control
He's back
The man behind the mask
He crawled out of his hole
Just to rock and roll
He's going out tonight
Going to make his rounds to get his fill
Standing staight and tall
He's a ton of fun
And he's dressed to kill
You know you read he was gone
It surely is him
But he's back on the prowl
Again and again and again
Don't you know
He's back
The man behind the mask
And he's out of control
He's back
The man behind the mask
He crawled out of his hole
Just to rock and roll
You know you read he was gone
It surely is him
But he's back on the prowl
Again and again and again
He's back
The man behind the mask
And he's out of control
He's back
The man behind the mask
He crawled out of his hole
Just to rock and roll
He's back
The man behind the mask
And he's out of control
He's back
The man behind the mask
He crawled out of his hole
Just to rock and roll
He's back
The man behind the mask
And he's out of control
He's back
The man behind the mask
He crawled out of his hole
Just to rock and roll
He's back

Elegy (Tir'd with the busy crouds)

Tir'd with the busy crouds, that all the day
Impatient throng where Folly's altars flame,
My languid powers dissolve with quick decay,
Till genial Sleep repair the sinking frame.

Hail kind Reviver! that canst lull the cares,
And every weary sense compose to rest,
Lighten th' oppressive load which Anguish bears,
And warm with hope the cold desponding breast.

Touch'd by thy rod, from Power's majestic brow
Drops the gay plume; he pines a lowly clown;
And on the cold earth stretch'd the son of Woe
Quaffs Pleasure's draught, and wears a fancy'd crown.

When rous'd by thee, on boundless pinions born
Fancy to fairy scenes exults to rove,
Now scales the cliff gay-gleaming on the morn,
Now sad and silent treads the deepening grove;

Or skims the main, and listens to the storms,
Marks the long waves roll far remote away;
Or mingling with ten thousand glittering forms
Floats on the gale, and basks in purest day.

Haply, ere long, pierc'd by the howling blast
Through dark and pathless desarts I shall roam,
Plunge down th' unfathom'd deep, or shrink aghast
Where bursts the shrieking spectre from the tomb:

Perhaps loose Luxury's enchanting smile
Shall lure my steps to some romantic dale,
Where Mirth's light freaks th' unheeded hours beguile,
And airs of rapture warble in the gale.

Instructive emblem of this mortal state!
Where scenes as various every hour arise
In swift succession, which the hand of Fate
Presents, then snatches from our wondering eyes.

Be taught, vain man, how fleeting all thy joys,
Thy boasted grandeur, and thy glittering store;
Death comes, and all thy fancy'd bliss destroys,
Quick as a dream it fades, and is no more.

And, sons of Sorrow! though the threatening storm
Of angry Fortune overhang a while,
Let not her frowns your inward peace deform;
Soon happier days in happier climes shall smile.

Through earth's throng'd visions while we toss forlorn,
'Tis tumult all, and rage, and restless strife;
But these shall vanish like the dreams of morn,
When Death awakes us to immortal life.

Not Falling

Always
Noted on my time
A little left I'm centered now
Reflect
As I realize
That all I
Need is to find
The little bit about to sit like the sun like a star in the sky
It just makes
Enough
Cast the stars in me

I
I stand
Not crawling
Not falling down
I
I'll beat
The demons
That drag me down
I
I stand
(For nothing)
Not crawling
(Descending)
Not falling down
(Your nothing in the end)
I
I'll bleed
(For no one)
The demons
(But myself)
That pull me down
(For me and no one else)

Goodbye
Sunshine
I put it out again
Sun
I'm over
The sanelities
Convicting
I don't need you
Or anyone by me
I'll just be
Living my own life
I feel like growing cynical
Infecting
I feel alive and sharper
Turn on the lime
Planted on myself to sit like the seed in the comforts of every
Just makes
Enough
What you think isn't me

[Chorus]

Come play kill
(Refuse my to fall

Chances Are

Chances are you'll find me
Somewhere on your road tonight,
Seems I always end up drivin' by,
Ever since I've known you
It just seems you're on my way,
All the rules of logic don't apply
I long to see you in the night,
Be with you till morning light...
I remember clearly
How you looked the night we met,
I recall your laughter and your smile,
I remember how you made me
Feel so at ease,
I remember your grace, your style...
And now your all I long to see,
You've come to mean so much to me...
Chances are I'll see you,
Somewhere in my dreams tonight.
You'll be smilin' like the night we met,
Chances are I'll hold you,
And I'll offer all I have
You're the only one I can't forget,
Baby your the best I've ever met...
And I'll be dreamin' of the future,
And hopin' you'll be by my side
And in the morning I'll be longing,
For the night...
For the night...
Chances are I'll see you,
Somewhere in my dreams tonight...
You'll be smilin' like the night we met...
Chances are I'll hold you,

What's On My Mind

I can't have this conversation
Without lots of reservations on the line
If there's a way to slip around it
Then I'm bound to get around it one more time
Honey you are so persuasive
But it makes me more evasive when you pry
You can label me elusive
But the facts are inconclusive at this time
'Cause you can't handle what's on my mind
I've got roses growing over what you'd find
But keep on asking if you're inclined
'Cause you can't handle what's on my mind
I don't mean to drive you crazy
Comin' off all vague and hazy just because
I don't have an answer for you
I just wouldn't want to bore you if it does
'Cause you can't handle what's on my mind
I've got roses growing over what you'd find
But keep on asking if you're inclined
'Cause you can't handle what's on my mind
But keep on asking if you're inclined

Spirit In The Night

Crazy janey and her mission man were back in the alley tradin hands long came wild billy with his friend g-man all duded up for saturday night
Billy slammed on his coaster brakes and said anybody wanna go on up to greasy lake
Its about a mile down on the dark side of route 88
I got a bottle of rose so lets try it
Well pick up hazy davy and killer joe and Ill take you all out to where the gypsy angels go
Theyre built like light
And they dance like spirits in the night (all night) in the night (all night)
Oh you dont know what they can do to you
Spirits in the night, in the night
Stand up now and let it shoot through you
Well now wild billy was a crazy cat and he shook some dust out of his coonskin cap
He said trust some of this itll show you where youre at or at least itll help you really feel it
By the time we made it up to greasy lake I had my head out the window and janeys fingers in the cake
I think I really dug her 'cause I was too loose to fake
I said Im hurt she said honey let me heal it
And we danced all night to a soul fairy band
And she kissed me just right like only a lonely angel can
She felt just right just like as sweet as a spirit in the night
In the night baby dont know what she do to you
Spirits in the night, in the night
Stand up now and let her shoot right through you
Now the night grew bright and the stars threw light in billy and davy
Dancin in the moonlight
We were down near the water in a stone mud fight
Killer joed passed out on the lawn
Well hazy davy got really hurt he crawled into the lake in just his socks and a shirt
Me and crazy janey were makin love in the dirt singin our birthday songs
Janey said hey little brother dont you think its time now we go
So we closed our eyes and said goodbye to gypsy angel row felt just right
Together we moved like spirits in the night, all night
Baby dont know what it do to you
Spirits in the night, all night
Stand up now and let it shoot right through you

Break o’ Day

You love me, you say, and I think you do,
But I know so many who don’t,
And how can I say I’ll be true to you
When I know very well that I won’t?
I have journeyed long and my goal is far,
I love, but I cannot bide,
For as sure as rises the morning star,
With the break of day I’ll ride.
I was doomed to ruin or doomed to mar
The home wherever I stay,
But I’ll think of you as the morning star
And they call me Break o’ Day.

They well might have named me the Fall o’ Night,
For drear is the track I mark,
But I love fair girls and I love the light,
For I and my tribe were dark.
You may love me dear, for a day and night,
You may cast your life aside;
But as sure as the morning star shines bright
With the break of day I’ll ride.

There was never a lover so proud and kind,
There was never a friend so true;
But the song of my life I have left behind
In the heart of a girl like you.
There was never so deep or cruel a wrong
In the land that is far away,
There was never so bitter a broken heart
That rode at the break of day.

God bless you, dear, with your red-gold hair
And your pitying eyes of grey—
Oh! my heart forbids that a star so fair
Should be marred by the Break o’ Day.
Live on, my girl, as the girl you are,
Be a good and a true man’s bride,
For as sure as beckons the evening star
With the fall o’ night I’ll ride.

I was born to ruin or born to mar
The home wherever I light.
Oh! I wish that you were the Evening Star
And that I were the Fall o’ Night.

Star Of Bethlehem (feat. Neil Young)

(Neil Young)
Ain't it hard when you wake up in the morning
And you find out that those other days are gone?
All you have is memories of happiness
Lingerin' on.
You might wonder who can I turn to
On this cold and chilly night of gloom
The answer to that question
Is nowhere in this room.
All your dreams and your lovers won't protect you,
They're only passing through you in the end.
They'll leave you stripped of all that they can get to,
And wait for you to come back again.
You might wonder who I can turn to
On this cold and chilly night of gloom
The answer to that question
Is nowhere in this room.
From that lamp on down the hall.
Maybe the star of Bethlehem
Wasn't a star at all.
